  1. I have the basic MVP V2 with the iclear 30 tank. It's a simple setup that has been giving me great performance up until now. The system won't fire. And I've been trying to get this thing together and up and running for the past day. The MVP V2 is fully charged. It started not working when I went to clean the tank. Cleaned the tank, screwed everything back together, filled, and re-attached. This system has never brought any issues. The button is lighting, signaling that it is firing, but the tank is giving me nothing but fluid. I only filled it up half way, so it's not an overflowing issue. I took everything apart, and reconnected it all together to make sure it was all secure and connected, re-filled half way and tried it again. No fire. Are there any tips or anything that I'm missing that'll get this thing to fire again? This is my go-to setup.
  2. Ahhh. See, I'll have to pass on this knowledge to the people at my vape store because they reference, basically, anything with a larger battery as a mod. I guess I just assumed anything with a larger battery to be a mod. Thank you for the clarification.
  3. You can upgrade to a lot of different things. I always suggest that once you get comfortable and tolerable with those basic devices, to try out an MVP V2 or a VAMO. Right now, 101vape.com has an amazing deal on the MVP V2 for only $40, compared to it's retail price which is normally $60-$70. So really great buy! Plus, it comes with it's own tank. The cool think about these devices are that they're referred to as "mods", sometimes even APVs (Advanced Personalized Vaporizors). They have variable wattage and volt which is really fun to play with to enhance flavor. The MVP V2 is a pass-through device. The entire device is the battery, you plug the entire thing into the charger, much like the eGo-T. It's also referred to as a "box mod". So it's a pretty different ballgame and taste all together, but a pretty solid device. Basically, whenever someone wants to upgrade, they typically upgrade to a mod, and it's typically either the VAMO (there is a V5 version out now... I believe), or the MVP. What you're going to be getting out of both of these devices is customization, personal preference, a chance to dabble with different settings, tanks, and ohms (the coil size/spacing/resistance) on your coil systems (tanks, cartomizers, ect). Not to mention quite an extended battery life! Both are great devices, and I haven't heard many complaints from either two device-users. But these will get your foot into the door to the "bigger" world of vaping and a custom vape. Plus, they have some really neat cosmetic skinz that can provoke some good conversations and set a trend of style. VaporSkinz.com is where I go to get mine. But that isn't required to operate the mod. Just makes it look pretty. GrimmGreen does a beautiful job at reviewing the MVP V2 and VAMO, and so does VapingCookie. (Youtube users) Just depends on if you want to: -Purchase separate batteries or charge the whole system -Carry a "box"-shaped device, or a thicker, more rounder device
  4. E-cigs and vaping are the same situation. Vaping is what you do off of an e-cig. You'll also hear terms like e-hookahs, PV (personal vaporizers), and "electronic smoking devices" (something people don't really like them being called, since smoking isn't a part of it). There is a ton of overwhelming terminology in the field, but more times than not people will clarify. Welcome to the rest of your life! Oh, and the forum! What starter kit did you start off on? Always curious! Edit: Oh, I remember from the battery forum! >.< Sorry. Still have tobacco brain sometimes.
  5. Trying new things is what the whole system is all about! I've gone into places and have just asked questions about things, and have received a lot of good information from them -- enough so that I refer others to the shop as well as go in there myself when I'm in the mood to try something different. I'm pretty honest about prices and whatnot and the place that I go to is also a coffee shop so I tend to just get a cup of coffee while I'm there since it's cheap and gives them something. Plus, free refills are common for those who linger. I don't think it's a horrible situation.
  6. Where are you plugging these batteries into? (the wall adaptor or your laptop?) I have a few chargers who, even if the light is green, I have to unplug and replug them into the wall -- to come to the "second round" of red lights. So I understand the frustrations, especially with having to cycle through all of these batteries. I would email them about this and express your frustrations with this. They might have a better alternative, or maybe it was just a bad battery batch released that can be replaced. Their customer service is very nice. Are the batteries that your friend gave you eGos? And as an overall, good habit and idea, it's great to have a different backup so that if you are experiencing issues with one specific charger, you don't have to go without vaping until you get it fixed or can replace it. It has saved a lot of us. Even just having the disposables aside as backup isn't a bad idea. Have you dropped your ego-Ts? And where did you get these ego-Ts from? Were they from JoyeTech/totally wicked themselves?
  7. Was it during the weekend or after Friday at 4pm? They close down their ordering system on the weekends. Why do they do this? I'm not entirely sure. If they don't want to work on the weekends, they can just turn to the orders from the weekends on Monday. It's somewhat inconvenient to do so, as most people shop on the weekends. If that wasn't the case, maybe they've taken some time off? When did you try to order?
  8. I've been kind of upset about the latest news coverage on e-cigarettes. They've been getting a lot of spotlight in the news, and even if in a positive light on most of the news rooms, there is a lot of misguided information and uncertainty. CNN did a cover story, advertising it ALL day long on the radio and on the commercials, asking the question "Are E-cigarettes really safer than a real cigarette?" kind of misleading questions. I know it's how they get views, but even during the segment they're like, "Well, we don't really know the harmful effects of the e-cigarettes, but it's been improving some people's lives... so... yea!" >.< I just wish the news actually covered them correctly instead of developing this sense of... mystery about them and this skeptical approach to the users.
  9. I absolutely adore anything pink, frilly, and girly -- it's how I got my nickname "Barbie". But those bows and the way that they're positions looks like they might be an issue for when pressing the button. It'd interrupt the smoother hold I tend to have on my other PVs.
  10. I honestly thought that steeping was just something that "fancy" vapers do to enhance flavor. Sometimes, it's hard for me to really taste EVERYTHING in a flavor, but I've certainly picked up on a few flavors that NEED to steep overtime of expanding, and I get it. I think we all have that realization at some point. It's hard to put a new flavor away for weeks, or even months at a time, and forget about it.
  11. Thanks everyone for the replies! Now that I know the right ratios, I can definitely experiment with these few liquids. I bought a DIY kit a few months back but never really got into it. I think it was just something I never really sat down and learned how to do. I might pick up on that this weekend as it'll help with figuring out how I want to distribute this fruity blend. If I "blend" it's normally by mistake! Either I had a tank that wasn't fully drained and I just added a different flavor in it, or I didn't completely clean out the cartridge. Around these times, it's awesome to have a forum like this with all of the resources. Off Topic A Bit: What's going on with the quoting problem on the forums?
  12. I completely understand that. I do like having 18mg (what I started out with) fluids on hand for traveling as I really can't vape a whole lot. But I vape at work, at the campus, at my house... so I'm vaping a lot and after a while it just doesn't sit right for me. But it's definitely a good idea to have those on hand for when stealth vaping is the only option. 24mg was enough to knock me back a little bit after vaping for a few moments. I think I made it worse because I was taking pretty deep inhales trying to get that flavor out over the TH. I knew that there were basics for making DIY liquids, but I didn't know how fragile already mixed e-liquids would be to tweaking. Good to know they can take it! I would've been quite bummed (or would've probably just traded it for something else with someone else).
  13. The 6mg is a Virginia tobacco flavor, but I am taken by how it blends with the fruitier flavors. Maybe I'll do a batch of both? I have 30ml. So I could take 10 ml and put that with 20ml of the 6mg tobacco and let that all blend, and I can use the Glycerin and cut with that in a larger bottle. And if I have the 20ml of the 24mg mixed with 20ml of Glycerin, that will cut it, right? And then just let that steep for a week? I can do that. I'm glad there is an easy solution! *breaths* Thanks a lot!
  14. Got the Clove flavor from TVR. Not bad, not bad at all. I miss cloves. I'm glad this satisfies the memory.
  15. I'm normally vaping around a 10-12mg dosage. However, a girl at a shop about two hours away gave me 24mg instead of 12. I didn't realize this until I got home to load it into a cartridge, and even then, I didn't really notice 'til I started puffing on it for a bit. I'm feeling like crap, needless to say. Is there a way to dilute the mg dosage without ruining the flavor? It's a fruity flavor, so maybe if I mix it with my 6mg tobacco dosage... that'll help lower and even it out? Should I just toss it? Or is this stuff salvageable? I don't have any 0 nic stuff. :/ And I don't particularly feel like going out there again as I'm no longer in that town for quite some time.
  16. This is so neat! I really want to try my hand at one of these. It does use a lot of juice, but it seems like even the juice that it "uses up" goes pretty long.
  17. Isn't it amazing? It's just... CRAZY to be a smoker that long and quit in such a simple swoop. Even those who don't intend to quit, end up quitting. Welcome to VT! What's your favorite device that you're using? I'm always curious as to what people choose as their weapon. Haha.
  18. Well, I'm not a huge fan of Fox or their information. But at least they're positive on something -- and that something is vaping! Woot-ish. There were a few news casts that have covered vaping in the most recent weeks. It had to have been in the last couple of weeks CNN and another news channel were covering e-cigarettes in a more positive note.
  19. Ego kits are the best to start off with. They are simple, and are cheap to maintain as well as are low to maintain. There is a boatload of information out there and it's a lot. Take it in small bites, start with basic battery knowledge, and what possible parts go with your battery, and work from there.
  20. What e-cigarette did you end up buying? It's great to see so many new faces in the vaping world. It's really expanding! There are so many different paths to go once you start vaping and so many ways to vape that it can be quite overwhelming. My strongest piece of advice is to look on Youtube. There are a lot of beginner vaping videos out there. You can get a taste as to what is on the market and whatnot. There are plenty here that if you ever have a question about a certain e-cigarette, a mod, or whatever else you're looking into -- chance are at least one of us has had experience with it and can help you figure out what you need, what is wrong, or what is best fit for the situation. Oh, and also: Happy Vaping!
  21. It was a hard choice between the two. But when I saw the sonic screwdriver -- I knew that when I got a rounder mod, I'd probably pick that up in a heartbeat. I just like the way it rolls off the tongue, "R2D2V2" Works well.
  22. A lot of other non-vapors have a problem wrapping their minds around the concept that it isn't smoking, even though vapor is being released. Vaping looks a lot like smoking, so we can't really attack their ignorance on their judgment. We can inform them and write letters to those who have claimed it to be a smoking device. Even when I was vaping and talking to my friend about quitting smoking, she just kind of looked at me as if I was still "smoking" just a healthier compound. As soon as the terminology changes as vaping grows, hopefully people will understand that it isn't smoking.
  23. I personally only clean out my tanks once a week, not after every use. Normally, there are multiple tanks that I have that hold certain flavors (ie. one for my tobacco, another for my sweets, ect) that tend to blend well with similar flavors in that category, so cleaning it completely out isn't needed every time I need to refill the tank. Some people want to vape just one specific flavor and taste that full flavor to it's full capacity and that's when you'd clean the entire thing out using the above method. For the most part, if I see my tank getting low, I just refill it. Sometimes I have a mix of flavors I like (like a tropical flavor mixed with my tobacco flavors) that I just cycle through. I start filling the clean tank with a mixture of the tobacco and tropical flavor, then as it gets low I alternate between filling with the tobacco or the tropical in a cycle. Never really had much of an issue with doing so. It's all personal preference. I find cleaning out the tanks every single time I need to refill to be a hassle, so I suck it up with the flavor mix.
  24. If anyone here are located in the Tampa area I'd love to see if we could arrange a Vapemeet! There is a Totally Wicked Vapor lounge in Tampa, if you've never been. If you have never been, then you get a 15% discount for me referring you and I get a discount and for every 100 points you rack up with them, you get $5 off. They have TV's, new products, "build your own kits", and of course, the unlimited flavor selections to try from a wall of flavors. There is also a "Mom & Pop" kind of shop that has opened up in the Largo area that specialize in mods and sell various mods as well as make their own flavor blends, as well as make their own coffee. Really neat people! It's called VapeNJoes Let me know if you're local and are wanting to meet up!!
  25. In the comfort of my home, I vape. I have a chinchilla, and he hasn't had any ill side effects from my vaping. My place, my rules. When people come over, if they're bothered by it, we'll go hang out somewhere else. The only time I don't vape is when my pregnant friend comes around. Not due to the health issues, but apparently the smell of my vapor makes her nauseous. (pregnancy nose) My other roommate smokes cigarettes and he goes outside and we're both under a mutual agreement that vaping is different than smoking. However, my boyfriend has two kids. If he comes over to my place, it's fine, because he normally doesn't have his kids when he's over at my place. But if I go over to his place, I don't vape inside at all around the kids. This is primarily because his toddler thinks that anything that I have in my hands is automatically his, too. He's taken many pens from me, and various other objects and I wouldn't want him to take my vape. I also don't want the kids to go running to their Mom saying that Dad's girlfriend smokes in the house around them and have her freak out. If these kids were my kids, I'd probably be more willing to vape around them. But I just don't want to stir any drama or problems between my boyfriend and his ex-wife. When I need to vape, I just go outside to the back yard. More times than not, the kids want to go play out in the back yard, anyways. And that's just what works for us. When we decide to cohabitate, I'd like to talk to his ex wife about it just to bring it up so that she hears it from me before she hears it from the kids and have her approval as well before I go and do it.
