I used various resistance and HV attys when at 6V, but saw no difference in life. I do know that they didn't give me the throat hit I needed at the time. I started vaping at higher voltages because I wanted a better throat hit. Using an HV atty defeated the purpose.

I'm becoming more convinced that it's the juice. Figuring that on her 5th days he's had a chance to get use to vaping, I mixed some juice 50/50, hoping she could vape something with PG (since she's using cartos, PG works better). No dice. Every hit sent her into a hacking fit. This made me really curious about the juice, so last night I filled up a LR carto with the VapeRite Organic and asked her to try it. I was sure it would knock her down, but no, she took a big ole hit and blew out a huge cloud of vapor with no problem. I could be wrong, but I'm thinking it really is PG that bothers her. Pretty sure that some vendors selling VG eliquid still use flavors that are PG based, so while you think it's 100 VG, it still has 20% PG in it.

Ahh - forgot about your 6V adventure. Sorry about that!

On another note - plan on going through more atty's. Although at 5V mine are lasting longer than they did at 6V.

Thanks everyone! I have tried to get Amy on the forum a few times in the past, especially when she was having so much trouble with it. I felt bad that I couldn't get her converted and hoped maybe VT could help, but she wouldn't. I think she just doesn't have the interest in it like I do. I'll try again though. @Morfeeus - I can't really give a good opinion on the flavor as I'm just not much on fruit flavors. I don't care for the Banana Foster - I guess it's okay, but not something I could vape for long. I seem to recall Jeffb really liked it though (I think).

VT Tobacco and Sweet Dawn are good at 5V, IMO.

My wife, Amy, has now been smoke free for 5 days! She tried to vape a long time ago, but vaping irritated her throat and chest so much that she just couldn't do it. VG juice was a little better, but she just couldn't do it. I ordered so much eliquid from so many vendors trying to find something she could vape, but nothing worked. The last juice I ordered was VapeRite organic, but she gave up before trying that. So, here it is almost a year later and she decided she was going to quit smoking. As she got down to her last pack, I prepared some cartomizers with VapeRite Lemon-Lime Cola and Banana Foster. She tried those and was able to vape! It did take a little getting use to for her, but it seemed much easier for her than anything else she had tried in the past (so I just placed a huge order with VapeRite for more organic flavors). Vaping doesn't seem to work as easily for her as it did for me. She says she still really wants an analog, but she'd doing quite well and I'm proud of her! Thought this would be a good way to us my 5000th post.

It really would be interesting to see how everyone else is doing it, and the conditions it's being done in. Could be scary.

Cleavage? I didn't notice that... I was looking at her sun glasses.

Took me a minute to find the ecig.

I don't see anywhere that they list the nicotine content. Most suppliers use: High = 24mg Medium = 16-18mg Low 6-12 mg However, it varies and some suppliers will call 18mg high. My best guess is that the medium is in the 16-18mg range. This is milligrams per milliliter. For example, if you have a 10ml bottle of eliquid that's 24mg, then there is 24mg of nicotine per one ml of eliquid. I smoked 1.5 packs per day and now vape 24mg nic. Most heavy smokers will find 24mg works well. You may want to contact the supplier and see if they'll tell you what the nicotine content is - that would give you a good starting point. If the nic content is low, then I would try a higher nic level.

Eliquid is made from nicotine, flavoring and PG (propylene glycole) and/or VG (vegetable glycerin). I'll have a look at the sites to see if there any info about the strength. How much do you smoke (packs per day)?
-
You're looking for better throat hit? What type of juice are you using (nic strength, PG or VP)? Nic is the biggest factor in getting throat hit, so if you're using a low mg juice you won't get much throat hit. Juice made with VG will also soften the throat hit. For more options on attomizers, if you used something with a bigger battery (like the Joye eGo or a mod) you could use LR (low resistance) atomizers. The LR atomizer will burn hotter than a regular atomizer so it will give you a better throat hit (and more vapor). When I started vaping I did pretty good with the regular 510 atomizer, but after a few months I got a mod and started vaping at 6 volts. What a difference! I'm now using a variable voltage mod... still using the 510 but only vaping at 5V. Oh - forgot to say - Welcome to Vapor Talk!

Congrats!

Did you find what you need?

What don't you like about it? Just the battery life? I can understand your frustration, but will add that I have two Black Silver Bullets, an Omega and two SB/PTs from Altsmoke and have never had anything but exceptional customer service. Edit: Forgot one - also have a DBSB.

Top notch supplier.

Are you sure Joye doesn't make a gold and a silver? All of mine are silver banded and they are all suppose to be Joye 302s. Thought it was something like the 302s are gold and the 304s are silver, but was confusing so they just get called 302s.

I can vouch for what ddave said on the healthcabin 555 - he sent me some and it really is fantastic.

Maybe just use your credit to get some spare batteries and atomizers and some cartomizers? You always need backups.

Batteries That Are Different But The Same?

Right - and in a tube mode with a big spring in the bottom, 1mm doesn't matter, but on a small box mod, it's just tough to squish them in. -

After thinking about it a few minutes, I remember that I made a box mod and had problems getting batteries in it. I have some of the gray Ultrafire 14500s and some blue Trustfire 14500. Both are protected, but the Ultrafires are just a tad longer than the Trustfire. -

Madvapes has a pic of them side by side. Is it an illusion, or do the flames look slightly smaller? http://www.madvapes.com/assets/images/P5120056.JPG However, according to the descriptions, both batteries are 52.5mm long. -

Have you contacted the supplier? I'm with you - seems like the batteries would be the same size, and if there were special requirements for a specific 14500, they should say so.
