Maybe you were just unlucky? Seems like most people using the eGo are using LR attys or LR cartos and I've never heard of anyone having battery issues like that. Sure, everyone gets dud once in a while, but I've not seen any complaints (until now) of having to replace batteries that often. I don't use the eGo (except on occasion), but I have converted a few people who have been using the same batteries with LR attys for several months now. Doesn't seem to be wide spread issue.

Need Advise Regarding The Little Sister Vari-Cool Mod
Brian replied to Sharon's topic in General Vaping Discussion
I looked at the site and it appears that you do need the volt meter. There's no display on the mod to show the voltage you have it set to. You'll need the voltmeter to know what the voltage is (when you adjust the voltage). Other than that, I don't know much about it. There are probably quite a few reviews on ECF though (I know I've seen it mentioned over there quite a bit). -
As ripple said, there really hasn't been enough studies to say yes or no definitively, especially on any long term affects. However, we're all aware of that and it's a chance we're all willing to take.

Is there a difference in the nic content of the TW vs. Awesomevapor? I believe the sampler from Awesomevaor is 18mg. If you were using 24mg and drop to 18, you will notice a difference in TH.

I'm not sure. Some juices (especially PG) burn her throat and hurt her chest when she inhales.

I've never been able to use a drip tip without getting juiced. I use this: http://www.vaportalk.com/forum/forum/forum/topic/3819-510-tail-pipe-cart-mod/page__p__32621__hl__%2Btail+%2Bpipe__fromsearch__1#entry32621 It's easy to make and I never get juice in my mouth.

Hi Debbee. I guess the first thing is to make sure you're not vaping a dry atty. Have you tried direct dripping? Often when you're not getting enough eliquid to the atty you'll get a bit of a burning metallic taste and it will burn/irritate your throat. If you're certain that's not the issue, some people are sensitive to PG. You may want to try some VG as it is smoother and less irritating. My wife cannot vape PG, and even with 100% VG juices there have only been a few so far that she's able to vape.

Glad you found something you like.

Using A Voltage Indicator With An 'under Load' Feature
Brian replied to Schlitz's topic in Modders Forum
Not sure you can back into the ohms without knowing the power and/or amps. However, if you know or atty is 1.5ohm, you can use the link below to plug in voltage under load of 3.3V and your atty resistance. Hit calculate and you get 7.2 watts of power and you're drawing 2.2 amps. I'm not really sure how all this works... there's an assumption that the battery can supply 2.2 amps. I reckon if the battery can't supply 2.2 amps, then you're not getting 7.2 watts. Maybe someone else and shed some light on that. http://thelocust.net/ohm/ -
It's not recommended that you use LR attys on regular 510 batteries. The LR attys draw more power than regular attys and can damage the smaller batteries. You can use the LR on the eGo-PT.

There are lots of places to get it. Here's just one. http://www.myfreedomsmokes.com/products/USP-Grade-Vegetable-Glycerin.html

Most vendors will have then info on their site. Some offer all PG, some all VG, and some offer a mix of PG/VG.
-
The problem with mixing your own is that much of the flavorings are PG based. If you're wanting stronger flavor you'll be using 30% or better flavoring which will give you 30%+ PG. Some flavor suppliers do have all VG now, but it's limited on the selection. I haven't looked into those lately or tried them. I did find a supplier of organic flavorings, but haven't spent much time looking at the site and figuring out what I need.

My Name Is Morf....and I'm A Vapaholic.
Brian replied to Morfeeus's topic in General Vaping Discussion
You mean he was thinking WTF when you nearly plowed over him to get you packages? LOL! -
Yes - left them off. The tank is very similar to a cart in that it has vents down the side. The caps trap vapor and the condensation builds up around them. Once enough builds up, . If left standing upright, the juice will not flow up the vents. One test I have not tried is to leave it laying on it's side. That could be another story. More so, I'm thinking that if left on it's side, juice could just keep flowing out of the tank, but not sure. @Morfeeus - The new order is with GP. I gave you a shout out about that in another thread also.

I'm using a 510-801 and the the 801-510 connected. I screwed the two together pretty tight to make sure the atty comes off without separating them. The 801-510 fits perfectly into the T atty.

Hi Morf! I wish I could tell you that it gets better, but it doesn't. And you'll get no help here... we just encourage you to feed your addiction so we don't feel so bad about ours. LOL! -
I've been using the eGo-T atomizer since Thursday afternoon and have to say that I am impressed with it so far. This thing is easy to use and it works well. I started out at 3.7V to break it in good. Initial impression was that the flavor was lacking. However, I was using a DIY juice that for some reason seemed off even with my regular 510 atty @ 5V. I have since tried three other flavors and they have all tasted fine (very good actually). After going through a couple of tanks I cranked it up to 5V, but was getting dry hits. Using the tips Morfeeus posted, I was albe to adjust my draw to make it work pretty well. Still, IMO, 4.1V is the sweet spot for this atty. I seem to get the most vapor, best flavor and TH at 4.1V. I can't really explain why I'm liking this atty so much, but I've been vaping at 4.1V for the post 4 days (mostly) and I like it. Refilling is very easy. I saw a tip in a youtube vid that said to refill with a pipette because the constant removal of the bottom cap would cause faster wear and could cause leaking. I've been refilling with a pipette and only removed the bottom cap once to clean the tank. One thing I didn't like is that I kept getting juiced (not really getting juiced, just condensation, but it tastes bad). Condensation builds up around the mouth piece and eventually you will suck it through. It's the same issue many of us had with regular 510 carts. I solved that problem my removing the two little caps on the end (one cap and another little piece just below it). I haven't been juiced since. Removing these also seems to have helped the draw and makes the jucie flow better. I was worried about leaking from the tank when not in use, but for the past three nights I've left it on my Provari overnight and haven't had any leakage at all. Every time I refill my tank (every 2-3 hours) I take the atty off and check for leaks, but so far not even a trace of a leak. My wife is also enjoying the eGo-T! Since we both like it, I did order a few more and also ordered some of the LRs to try. So, where will the eGo-T atty fall in my arsinal? I will most likely continue using the 510 atty and dripping. Then again, four days without dripping has spoiled me! LOL! I may continue to use this one atty just to see how long it lasts. Right now I seem to be quite happy using it at 4.1V. I will say with confidence that there's a good chance I will never use another cartomizer again! LOL! As always - Different Srokes for Different Folks - it's working for me so I'm giving the eGo-T atty two thumbs up! Used on my Provari.

12 Days!!! Still going well. The other night she showed me one of her eGos and said "I like this one best, not the taste, but how it works". It was the LR carto, which is why a ordered a bunch more LR cartos (thanks egolvr for the find). I was surprised that she was liking the LR, but it convinced me more than ever that it's the juice that causes her problems. To experiment, I took one of the regular cartos filled with juice she can vape and put it on my Provari at 5V. She hit it like a champ with no problems! So, she's liking the LR cartos and I just want to note that she's using 100% VG Organic juice and it's working just fine in the cartos. Now, she's not vaping as heavily as many of us, but she's going through 3-5 cartos a day and they are working fine for her. Friday night I set her up with an eGo-T to try and that's going well also. She actually prefers that over the carto because of the way it feels (the draw and the mouthpiece). She drained a whole tank and a couple of cartos on Saturday. Since she likes the T so much, I went ahead and ordered a couple more of them and also some of the LR ones to try (thanks Morfeeus for the GP sale post). I think she thinks I'm crazy because I keep asking how it's going, what she likes and doesn't like, etc. I just want her to have the best possible experience with this. Juice. Of the 7 new flavors I ordered from VapeRite, she can only use two of them, not due to the flavor, but because they irritate her. I've gotten where I can tell which ones she won't be able to use because I even found them to be a bit scratch on my throat. The ones she can use feel pretty smooth. Each flavor came with a 3ml sample also, so we've still got 7 more to try (wish her luck). Right now she has three that she can use.

I'm not sure how many drops those bigger attys can take, but on a regular 510, after bowing it out, I'll use about 6 drops to prime it. That will usually only give me one or two hits before I have to add 2-3 more drops. I would start with 6 drops and keep adding two drops at a time, taking a hit after every two drops until it stops getting the burn taste or you flood it. It really does sound like it's not getting enough juice. Hope the boiling helps. Some will also suggest removing the wick and/or bridge. I've need found that to be necessary, but some like to do it.

A burnt/metallic taste is usually a sign that the atty isn't getting enough eliquid. Are you using carts or direct dripping? I would try dripping 3-4 drops directly into the atomizer and see if that helps. If not, add another two drops and see. If this helps, then I'd say the cart isn't wicking well (which is typical of carts). If that doesn't help, do you have another atomizer to try? Are these Low Resistance atomizers, or regular? You may want to watch this vid on direct dripping: http://www.vaportalk.com/forum/forum/forum/topic/7996-what-is-direct-dripping-how-do-i-direct-drip/

There's actually an old thread and vid around here somewehre showing how to do that. Sorta defeats the purpose of a cartomizer though. If I can find it, I'll post a link.

Glad you like it!

Just my opinion, but I would wait a while. Try some vendor eliquids and find out what types of flavors you like. That will help you narrow down what flavoring to buy later. I spent a lot of time reading and following the DIY threads here an on other forums before I took the plunge. There is a learning curve when you start vaping. I would get past that first before adding more potential frustration on top of it.
