  1. LOL! They sure are cranking out a bunch of different kinds. I haven't seen much good about the Turbine except for people who did a lot of tinkering/tweaking with it and finally got it to work right. Never heard of the Lucid or the Vortex. Actually, never heard of the Turbine until I got your PM. Hope the Vortex is a winner.
  2. Well that would depend on your definition of "a while". Without a predefined time range for "a while", I'd say you've already kept your promise. LOL!
  3. The eGo Mega Cartomizer would not work without a 510 extension (or a combo of adapters). Are you able to use the eGo Mega Carto on your box mod? I'm assuming you're talking about the Mega Carto that when used on an eGo you don't use the eGo cone. The 510 extension is about 1" long and may look a little goofy. I'm using a Tank atty on my Provari with an adapter combo... 510 to 801 connected to an 801 to 510. I've never used the eGo Mega carto, but I did use a Black Silver Bullet for several months before I switched to VV mods. It's a great mod. My black one faired pretty good to abuse. It has some chips, but nothing I can complain about. I did have the same problem as brian1g mentioned about the center pin, but it wasn't a big problem. If I really, it seemed like the only time it happened is when I used an atty on another unit and then put in the SB.
  4. On the forum menu bar, on the far right, there's a button that looks like a cog. It's the advanced search button. If you click on that, you'll see the advanced search page. There, you can put in your username as the author and it'll bring up all your posts. You can also put in a date range, but you don't have to.
  5. Many report vaping more often than they smoked. I know I do. I don't really have vape sessions like when I smoked... I'm taking a hit or two or three every several minutes +/-.
  6. I've tried the LR ones also and they worked good for me. I didn't use it long, but my wife has been using them and she likes them. I'm also wondering about the difference between the "versions". Maybe some improvements have been made, and maybe you got an older version. I wish there was more I could to do to help - I hate to see people not happy with their stuff. But honestly, I think I posted this somewhere, while I'm really enjoying the tank, I think it's because I've been off analogs so long. I don't think the tank would have satisfied me a year ago.
  7. Sounds like you may be getting dry hits, not primer? Could be that the juice isn't flowing fast enough. Sorry it's not working for you. There are only two things I can think of that I do which may help with getting the juice to flow better. 1. When I start a new tank, with it empty, I push it into the atty to pop the plug. Remove it from the atty. Then I take the end cap off and grab the little plug with a pair of needle nose pliers. Give it 2-3 twists and it comes off. 2. I remove the two endcaps from the mouth piece end (just use a paper clip or something similar). Have you looked at morpheeous' post on for tips? http://www.vaportalk.com/forum/forum/forum/topic/11337-joye-ego-tank/
  8. I'm using a 510-801 with an 801-510 and it works great, but I like the idea of no gap. I know the GP extension is about 1".
  9. Avidvaper now has 510 to eGo-T connectors. While I'd like to have one, I'll wait to see if madvapes gets them for 1/3 the price. LOL! http://www.avidvaper.com/products/eGo%252dT-%7C-Mega-to-510-Atomizer-Adapter.html
  10. I believe the only difference is the shape/size of them. Type B are cylinder shaped and the tank holds 2ml. Type A are cone shaped and hold about 1ml. Other than that, I believe they are the same. I could be wrong, but haven't heard of any differences.
  11. The Tanks do take a little time to break in, but not much. One thing I found helpful was to remove the two plastic pieces from the mouthpiece end of the tank. Just use a paper clip or something similar - stick it in the little hole and it will pop right out. Just underneath that piece, there's another one. Do the same thing. I found this gave me better vapor and seemed to make the juice flow better to the atty.
  12. I'm using a mix of 80% PG, 20% VG and it works well. My wife has been using 100% VG and it's been working well for her too, but she doesn't vape as heavily as I do. I suspect if she vaped more she would have wicking issues. The 100% VG she uses appears to have been thinned a little. I have tried other 100% VG juice that is far to thick and would not wick at all. I made some 50/50 mix for my wife and it is working good also. I vaped on it for a while myself and didn't have any issues. In general, I would say 100% VG is not advised especially if you are a heavy vaper.
  13. They also have some that is for mixing with drinks (make your own energy drink).
  14. Ran across this today and it reminded me of this thread. http://flavorwest.com/index.php/caffeine/e-caffeine-65.html
  15. The "best" way is unknown and there are many opinions. Personally, I don't do much of anything. When I take an atty off, I'll use a paper towel to clean the contact point on the battery (just to keep any juice from building up in there). One every other day or so I'll blow out my atty and insert a piece of rolled up paper towel in it and let it set for a while (upside down). That will pull out old eliquid. That's about it. If you do take to cleaning your atty, something like this would probably be your best bet: http://www.vaportalk.com/forum/forum/forum/topic/7962-atomizer-cleaning-with-a-bulb-syringe/
  16. What strength eliquid did you get? The throat hit you get is primarily a factor of the nic level of the eliquid. Also, VG tends to soften the throat hit. You can add Propylene Glycol PG) or Vegetable Glycerin (VG) to reduce the nic level, but it will also reduce the flavor. For the tanks, I'm using an 80/20 mix and it's working pretty good. I'd say the thinner the juice, the better it will work, so less VG will be better. I don't know that you can drip with the tank atty. I haven't tried and not sure it will work any better than using the tank on it. If you want to try direct dripping, I would pick up some regular Joye 510 attys (or some Low Resistance 510 attys) and a drip tip.
  17. There have been mixed reviews. I've been one of the lucky ones - been using a tank for over three weeks and it's working great for me.

    Map Tank

Yeah - that happens with DIY. LOL! Glad your tank is working.
  19. Welcome to Vapor Talk! You can't go wrong with an Joye eGo. It's got long battery life (8+ hours per battery) and the 2.2ohm atty will give you a great throat hit. There are a lot of options for the eGo now so there's plenty of other atomizers/cartomizers you can try down the road if you wanted.
  20. Are you sure it's air you're hearing? You will normally hear a hissing, crackling and/or popping because the atomizer his vaporing the eliquid.
  21. Whenever I mix I usually make several bottles of my regular nic/vg base so if I'm ever in a rush all I have to do is add flavoring. My stuff is pretty easy to mix though... I'm using 48mg nic and vape 24mg. 5ml 48mg nic 2ml VG 3ml Flavor = 24mg 80/20 PG/VG. One thing I do is premix my flavors into a big batch... for example, I use Peanut Butter, Bittersweet Chocolate and Cotton Candy mixed as a base for my tobacco flavors. I'll make a 30ml batch of the just flavoring. When I'm ready to make some juice, I don't have to pull out three different flavors.
  22. VaporKings has some KR808D-1 supplies. http://www.vaporkings.com/KR808D-1-2-piece-e-Cigarette-s/66.htm
