One thing you may want to try. Take a needle (a small one) and run it down the inside of the tube. This will put a small gap in the wick and allow the juice to flow better. I was lucky with my first couple of tanks and they worked fantastic. I had a couple of regular ones and a couple of LR's that were just great. Since then, they've been hit and miss. I've had a couple that just sucked right off the bat and I couldn't get them to do any better. I tried soaking them in hot water, but that didn't help. There was one that I started getting dry hits on (lots of vapor, but with a burning taste) and using the needle did work.

Forgot - I don't think you can order directly from Joyetech unless you're buying in bulk quantities (like 500 units or something). Check out the supporting suppliers at the bottom of the forum - they all provide great customer service and products. http://www.vaportalk.com/forum/forum/forum/forum/189-supporting-suppliers/

The v2 appears to be a KR808D-1 (just a little over priced). It should work pretty good (there are a lot of KR808 fans around, just not many here). It's your call on returning it... it should certainly at least give you a good intro to vaping and let you know if it's for you. One advantage of the standard KR808 is that is comes with a 250mah battery vs. the 150mah battery that comes with a standard Joye510 kit. The Joye 510 mega battery is 250mah. If you're a heavy smoker/vaper, 150mah will only last you about 1-2 hours and 250mah will probably go 2-4 hours max. The reason people recommend the eGo is because it has a 650mah battery (you can also now get 900mah and 1300mah batts for it) which will last you 8+ hours (many get 10-12 hours) per charge. Typically, for an extra $20-$30 you can get an eGo and the extended battery life is well worth it. The eGo uses the same atomizer as the standard Joye 510, so it will perform just like the one your friend has. The eGo is quite versatile in that you can use a variety of cartomizers and atomizers on it. If you want more throat hit, get a low resistance atomizer. Don't like direct dripping, get some cartomizers or tanks. There are just a lot of options. You may want to check with the vendor on the return policy. Many vendors will not let you return the "flavor carts" (cartomizers) even if you haven't opened them. They will give you a refund, but only a partial refund. If that's the case, then heck, open it up and give it a try. It may be just what you want. Vaping is all about finding what works for you. Oh - Welcome to Vapor Talk!!!

A paper clip.

Ah - okay. I know the stainless ones work (or that's what people are saying).
-
Oh - and how is it that the clear ones don't fit? Are they narrower than the others?
-
From what I've seen, if you crack yours they will send you a replacement.
-
They've had some issues with cracking, but they are replacing the acrylic tube with polycarbonate. Other than that, they see to be working very well. I've been considering trying one of these, but will wait to see if I like the dual coil cartos first. If I like dual coil, then I may get one of htese. It's a little pricey though... hard for me to pay $25 (+$5 shipping) for a couple of gaskets and a piece of tube.

They say it's good for about two years. Keep it out of direct sunlight... basically at room temp.

My Thoughts On E-Cig Flavors By A Newbie
Brian replied to grandpawrichard's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Some flavors do smell strong, but some not so much. I know things like Grape Soda and Blueberry are quite strong, while some of the tobacco flavors are much more subtle or non-existent. -
Wow! What a great time! Thanks for sharing the pics!

Fda Takes Action Against Illegal Marketing Of Tobacco Products
Brian replied to Christopher's topic in General Vape News
Other than what you've mentioned in the past (I think it was you), I've not head of anyone extracting nicotine from any other source for the purpose of using the nicotine. I could be wrong about that, but I'm sure most of the eliuqid we vape uses nicotine from tobacco leaves. -
I may not be much help since i haven't used a cart in well over a year. If you're using a fresh cart (new filler that is dry), remove the filler, fill the cart about 1/2 full and insert the filler. Top it off with a few drops (or as many as it will take). If you're refilling a cart and the filler is already wet, probably the easiest way is to just drip on it and let it soak in.

Vapor Kings Dchv 510 Cartomizer First Impressions...
Brian replied to Kingbtheone's topic in e Cigarette Reviews
I'm getting really close to giving these a try. Being clear, can you tell from looking at it when you need to add juice? -
I checked out the Hangsen web site, but don't see that you can buy anything there. I think this is the second time you've talked about Hangsen (the other was the Echo I think). Is this available on the market yet?
-
Sorry - I should have been more clear on that. Tags has been around for a while so I assumed she really just wanted the unit and batteries.

Looks like a Rough Stack (madvapes) to me, but double the price. I think Cigtechs sells them also. http://www.madvapes.com/RoughStack-V2_p_2965.html

Can You Put An Electronic Cigarette In Your Checked Bag?
Brian replied to jayson_m's topic in New Vapers Forum
I think the rules actually say to carry on any lithium ion batteries, but I could be mistaken. -
Never heard of it, but here's a vid of what's inside. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqJBBitHlT0

I have flown a few times with no problems. Put the eliquid in with your other liquids (in the quart ziploc bag). Just put the ecigs in your purse or other carry-on bag. No problem.

How Can I Make My New Electronic Cigarette Taste Stronger?
Brian replied to pete_murph's topic in New Vapers Forum
Unlike a cigarette, you want to take a longer, slower draw. Draw on it gently for a few seconds. There is a coil in the atomizer which heats up and vaporizes the eliquid. Drawing to hard/fast keeps the coil from doing it's job. -
There is a learning curve for dripping, so don't give up. If you're dripping on the cart filler, it's probably getting absorbed by the filler and never getting to the atty. The burning throat sensation is usually a sign that the atty is dry. Try removing the filler from the cart and dripping 2-3 drops directly onto the atty. 2-3 drops should get you several good hits.
