Wish I could offer some help, but I gave up on mine. I have no doubt that it was these PT's that gave me such grief in my first week of vaping. You may want to shoot Arno an email to see if he has any advice. Also, you may be interested in a non-battery PT (they have them at Word up). My link

Here's a list of what I ordered: Box Connector Switch LED 5V Regulator Resister My plan is to use two 14500 900mah batteries. Again - I was looking for the easiest way. Once I get one working I'll start looking into: 1. Different cases. 2. A unit that switches betweeen 3.7v and 5v (I've read a little on this - don't think it'll be that difficult). 3. Maybe 6v. Heck - once I saw how cheap it was I figured I could expirament a lot. I'm glad to see there's some interest in this as I've become somewhat fascinated with the idea.

One thing to help with getting juiced (getting juice in your mouth) is too keep a paper towel handy. Every so ofter when you remove the cart to drip, wipe all the condensation off of the cart. If you look at the side of the cart where it slides into the atty, you'll see air vents. This is where you're drawing air throuth. Moisture (condensation and juice) will build up in there and occasionally you'll suck it through. Keeping it wiped off really helps. I will also occasionally roll up a piece of tissue or paper towel and stick it into the center of the cart to get any moisture out of there. Every few days I run my carts under hot waster (tap water) just to rinse them out. Be sure to blow it out reall good or let it dry for a while before reusing.

He is working on a 5v tutorial that he hopes to have finished soon. I hope he has it posted before I start otherwise I'll really be flying blind. Surprisingly Nana, it doesn't look that difficult.

Thanks! Yea, from what I've seen it really not that difficult. I'm going to start with a box mod as it seemed to be the easiest and give you the most room to work. Once I get it down I'll most likely try one of those flashlight mods.

At the risk of making a complete idiot of myself, I ventured out today and ordered all the parts needed to make a 5v mod. I went for the easiest method I could find so hopefully I can learn the basics from doing this. I ordered everything I need from madvapes.com. I spent $40 and ordered enough supplies to make 4 units, plus another $20 on 4 14500 batteries (needed those for my VP2 anyhow). I traded several emails with Mark (from madvapes) and he was very helpful and got me on my way. I plan to at least document the process and take pics. I'll post the project when it's done. Hopefully I'll have one working next weekend. Wish me luck (I'm going to need it).

All is well here! BTW - the drip, vape, repeat may seem like a lot when you're starting out, but once you get use to it, you don't even really notice anymore. It's just a natural thing, just like reaching for a pack of smokes, or lighting up. It's just something you do without much thought.

Very cool looking!

I direct drip also, and no, it won't hurt anything. The manual batteries are sealed so no juice can get into them (unless it runs down the side into the button). That's why we recommend the manual batteries. If you look at the Vaportalk banner at the top of the page you'll see "drip, vape, repeat". That's the motto. I don't know much about the juicebox mod, but have seen a few discussion of it around here. It does seem to cover some of the short falls of ecigs. I think it's been in development for a while and is just now going into production (I could be wrong about that). You can see that there's a 4-6 week waiting list for shipping.

Jeffb is talking about direct dripping. You may want to watch this vid: My link You'll still only get 5-7 good hits from it though.
-
I'm a little confused by that. Don't you direct drip? Why are you leaving the cart in the tip? The 302's I got only came with tips, no carts attached. On the 510 carts I have had some melting on the ends, but I followed McQuinns advice and just cut the ends off now.

I can relate. I have a PO box. Really sucks to go by the PO after work and get a yellow slip.

Are you sure the atty blew? One thing I've been having problems with is that an atty loses power and even the light on the VP units won't come on. However, if I unscrew the atty a little then it'll work. I have 3 that are like that now. It's odd that if I screw the adapter all the way down and then put on the atty, I have to uncrew the atty a little bit. If I put the atty onto the adapter first and the put it my unit, I have to unscrew the adapter a little. This is happening on my VP2 and my VP/PT. Don't know what it is. You may want to try unscrewing a little before trashing them.

And being smoke free - Priceless!

I've heard that this (or something similar) is soon to be on the market. I'm sure we'll hear all about it when it happens.

Ah, Vacker beat me to it. I'm tooo slow.

That's amazing Vacker! Congratulations! Your smoke free meter looks awsome... over 12,000 analogs avoided.

Agree with jeffb 100%.

Like BirdDog said, don't feel guilty. Chris has said many time that this is a forum with a store, not a store with a forum. VT juice has earned the accaim we give it, we're not just sucking up because of the VT forum.
