  1. Dave - I know you were straying from VG because the popular opinion is that you get less TH from it. However, I've seen claims elsewhere that this just isn't true. My guess is, like so many things, different strokes for different folks. While one person may find a better TH with PG, another may find it with VG. I got some 11mg Rath Waffle from ENS and got a litte TH with it at 5v (nothing at 3.7), so I'm planning to get some 26mg to see what the TH is like. I had to the 11mg for my wife to try, hoping VG would be better for her, but no dice. I really like the flavor of that Waffle. Yummy.
  2. That's good to know... I hadn't looked at TW much because I just assumed they shipped from overseas. That's a good price on those atty's.
  3. Dang man, you only get 5-6 hours on a VP2? Don't think I've ever had less than 8. I'm quite happy with the battery life I get with both my VP2 and Spade, but was curious about how much difference there would be with 510 vs 801/302 atty. Plus, I really struggle everytime any electrical talk is being discussed so I was really trying to understand Jesso's calculations. I followed pretty good, but don't see the jump from saying 4.2 volt to 1400ma. Would really like to understand that.
  4. Below is some info on battery life that I copied form vaprlife. Can someone tell me how the 1400ma (bolded and underlined) was calculated? Also, would the life be different if you used a 510 atty? I seem to recall reading somewhere that the 510 uses more power, but can't remember the specifics. Thanks in advance! From VAPRLIFE.COM: The VP1 has 360mah batteries (milli amp Hours) meaning if you press the button and don't let up, it will supply 360 ma per hour. Now the 801 atomizer is roughly 3ohms, after tests the atomizers draw 1.4 amps when in use. So 1.4 x 3 =4.2 volts. A 360 mah battery can supply a device for 1 hour with a360ma draw. With a draw of 1400ma draw on these atomizers you get:360/1400 = 0.26 hours of life for that charge. Its the same on theVP2, it has a mah rating of 900mah. So 900ma/1400 = 0.64 hours of life. So to summarize: VP1 with button on will last ( 60 min x .26) = 15.6 minutes or 936 seconds VP2 with button on will last ( 60 min x .64) = 38.4 minutes or 2304 seconds Of course you only press the button when you want a hit, right. If a hit is equal to 5 seconds to keep it simple. VP1 (360mah) will give (936 sec/ 5 sec hits) = 187 hits, before changing battery VP2 (900mah) will give (2304 sec/ 5 sec hits) = 460 hits, before changing battery Link to same.
  5. Break-in period is usually the first couple of hours +/-. Initially, the taste isn't that great due to some factory juice they put on the atty to keep people from burning them up when they first get it. What I've noticed is usually in the 1st half hour or so the vapor isn't as good and the throat hit isn't as good. After the first couple of hours it should be fine. I see most of the difference in the first half hours our so, but I'm usually vaping heavily when I first put on a new atty.
  6. Here's a vid on dripping. You won't hurt your atty, but you may flood it. If you hear bubbling and get little or no vapor, you've flooded it. Just roll up a little piece of paper towel and insert it in the atty to absorb out some juice. Usually use 2-3 drops and you'll get 5-7 good hits. Yes - once you develop you own routine you won't even think about it anymore.
  7. 6 months may increase you chance of success. Ha! I think it would probably just increase the likelyhood that I'd end up smoking more later. Every time I tried the patch I ended up smoking while wearing the patch.
  8. I agree, and I also think you should start a new thread to post this in. It'll get more exposure.
  9. Since you said you need throat hit, I think you need a 510. The 302 is great at 5V and that's what I'm using on my PT, but I won't give up my 510 at 3.7v. The 510 has a great throat hit.
  10. What a nightmare! Sorry about that. Good grief. While some of the supporting suppliers are a little more expensive, don't forget that most of them have a coupon code around. Electronixstix has 10% off with VTALK10. Awsomevapor has 10% with ecf10p. Here's a link to many other coupon codes.. My rule of thumb - never order without a discount code (unless you absolutely can't find one).
  11. SOMEONE DELETE THIS BEFORE DAVE SEES IT!!!
  12. I really like the 302 on my VP/PT @ 5V. Haven't tried it on my VP2 or Spade. I suspect I'll prefer the 510 at 3.7v.
  13. All my VT orders have made it to WV in three days. Chris sure does get them out the door fast!
  14. LordVapor just got a new job and had to have a drug test. He got the job, so no problem.
  15. VP2 is great. I usually get 8-12 hours of heavy vaping. Much longer on a light day. Just be sure not to screw on the adapter to tight if you're using one. Put the atty on the adapter first, then attach it to the VP2, but not to tight.
  16. I got a bunch of the gold band atty's when the VT store had them in stock, and a couple from dietsmokes when I got my VP2. I really like them. They don't seem to get as hot as the standard back 510. I think the gold band helps with heat dissipations, but that's just my theory.
  17. Indyvaporshop has 5 for $34.95. My link
  18. Popular opinion is that they are about the same, but the Janty costs about $6 more. Kinda high priced, but apparently it comes with a 6 month warranty from Janty. I had become convinced that my Janty was working better than any of my other atty's, but that was just before it died, for forget I said that. I don't know why the VT store stopped selling the unit with the Janty atty. Probably just ran out of them. Here's a LINK to the thread where I asked the same question. Glad your atty came back to life!
  19. So normally when I get home on in the evenings and on weekends I only use my VP/PT. The Spade and VP2 only get used during the day - Mon-Fri. But this weekend I've had all three going and it's really amazing. I've got ChocoJava in my VP/PT at 5V. Sweet Dawn in my VP2 and TT in my Spade and I'm switching between all three. It's been great! It's like having my cake and eating it too, only it's really like having my tobacco and coffee with my desert. What a great weekend!
  20. Welcome. Rule of thumb when starting out - if you get a flavor that you don't like, save it for later because your taste buds will change. I'm going on two months now and I'm starting to try flavors that I didn't care for in the biginning and finding them very good now.
  21. It's quite normal for many long term smokers. It may take a while for your taste buds to return. For some it only takes a week or two, others have taken longer, and there are a few who still cannot taste the flavors after a few months. Hopefully you won't be one of those. The menthol is very strong so it makes sense that you can taste that.
  22. Brian

    Ego?

Tracie wanted to know if this is the best we can get right now. Isn't that going to be a matter of personal preference? This would make a good discussion thread of it's own though.
  23. This is the only one I've seen, but I haven't been looking. My link
  24. From what I've heard (not sure if I'm correct here), the HV atty's actually bring the voltage down to around the 5v range. Don't see the point of using more than 5v is you're going to use an atty that will act as a voltage regulator.
