I hear that diyflavorshack has the 555 concentrate, but it seems they've been down a while.

Certainly not me.

Everything I got is comming your way! My dad has had both knees replaced and it's made a big difference for him. That was two years ago - he's 70 now.
-
Interesting - thanks! I have 14 of them and only one has gone bad - one of the first ones I got back in December. I stick it in the charger and it goes green after about a minute. I can get 4-5 hits on it and it's dead.

It's hard to equate drops to cigaretts. I smoked about 1 1/2 packs a day and now use about 15ml of juice a week. I don't use carts much, mostly direct drip. However, two of the most popular cart fillers seem to be Fluval (acquarium filter #A-242) and the Pyramid Tea Bag. Direct Dripping PTB Mod Fluval

Welcome to VT! Have to agree - the 510 is the way to go.
-
Well that's going to open up a can of worms.

Is it a metallic type taste? What kind of juice?

I agree with Sinikal. However, first things first - start getting some backups. If you're going to stay with the 510 batteries, get a few more and also a few atty's. If you want longer battery life start looking at mods (VP2, Spade, eGo, etc). Darnit Mark - you beat me to the backups.

I do want to say that you will figure it out. Stay with it. Believe me, my first week and a half were very frustrating. I really enjoyed vaping, but it seemed like I had problem after problem. I had leaks, I had poor atty performance, the cheap PT's I got both went bad. Then it just all seemed to come together. Also, I hate to say it, but I think the 4 atty's that came with my starter two starter kits were not great even though they were Joye 510's. Once I got some new atty's is when things really turned around. If your problem continues, I'd suggest you buy a couple of new atty's and see if that makes a difference. I still have my original 4 atty's, and not to long ago I pulled them out and tried them to see if maybe the problem was just me being a noob. The do work, but not very well and they are very tempermental.

I usually have two atty's in use and two sitting my my ashtray with a piece of paper towel in them. Whenever the atty start to feel gummed up (gets harder to draw) I switch it out. Brandon may be on to something though with the positioning. If you're always holding it horizontal to the ground, the juice will run out and you're not vaping all the juice. Hence, when you turn it upright to drip, all the juice runs back down to the bottom + the new drops you put in.

Dave's first vid review coming up!

The Double Barrel is just an adapter for the SB. I think you have to have a SB before getting the double barrel.

LMAO! You're right - as soon as I read that there was an instant picture in my head. -
Like SmokinHammer said, the charger those chargers can be a little tricky. Sometime you put the battery in and it goes green right away. I usually have to put the battery in and give it a little turn to get the charger to turn red.

Any chance you're "chain vaping"? Taking several drags in a row - back to back? May be just me, but I found that I get leaks most when I was hitting it hard and let the atty get very hot. If you're doing this, try lettling the atty cool down a little between drags... usually several seconds will help. For me, making sure the attys stays cool and using a paper towel regularly has really helped prevent leaks. But, yes, occsionally it still happens, but not that often any more. I still always make sure I have a napin or paper towel in my pocket though, just in case.
-
When you get one, I highly recommend getting some 302 atty's for it. They're really good at 5v.
-
Looks like vaprlife has them. My link

Very cool demonstraton!
-
Just a note - Chris did mention in another thread that the adapter sold by Dietsmokes, VT and Vaprlife are specially made for the VP units and using any other adapter will void the warranty.
-
I've not seen any others. I've seen vids of this one before - I knew it had been made special, but they just started selling it.

Just saw the pic you posted. Is the bottom of the V3 fully rounded, or is there a flat spot so you can stand it upright when not using it? -
That's the SLB 510. Some like then, some don't, but I heard that they do well at 5v. Anyhow, we're talking about he outside band of the atty - gold, silver, red, etc. Some atty's are solid black, other have a band on them.
-
Good idea - and since you have a cone on the ego, it doesn't really matter what color it is. Not sure it really matters, but it seems to me that the banded atty's don't get as hot as the plain black ones. Just a personal observation. I think maybe the band helps with heat disipation.
