Will be interested to see. In the mean time, I'll look at my battery file and see if I can clean it up and post it over the weekend.
-
I really don't know. I've always heard that he 901 was a little cooler then the 302. I was really expecting you to come back with 3.6-3.8 (like McQuinn did). I've never used the 901, so can't compare. Guess I need to add that to my next shopping list.
-
I would have thought the 901 would be higher than 3.2 ohms based on what I've heard everyone say about it's performance.
-
Yea - I don't think Joye makes a 901, so they would be SLB. If they're 3.2 then that's the same as the Joye 302 (801). The watts would be the same as what I already have in the file for the 302.

I wasn't engeneering either... and I could tell you about it, but likewise, I'd have to.... ELINT 205X0. And where is Corry Station? Never heard of that.
-
I tested brand new ones and got 2.2ohms on the Joye 510 and 3.2ohms on the Joye 302. From what I've heard, that's exactly where they are suppose to be. I also tested a couple of used ones and got the same reading. Hold on.... (time lapse)... I just tested some that I boiled over the weekend and they have been sitting for 5 days so I assume they're good and dry. Got 2.2ohms on them also.

You're in business now!!!

I do have another spreadsheet for battery life, but I did it a while back. I'll pull it up and see about your question. Maybe I'll upload it. I haven't seen much on the 901. I'm sure I can find out what the HV 901 are, but don't know what the ohm on a regular 901 is. Can you test the ohms and let me know? I don't have a 901. Tech school at Lowry? I went to tech school at Goofellow AFB in Sanangelo, TX (1989). McQuinn - learned all that on the net over the past few weeks, but certainly can't remember it. I have to look it up everytime I try to do a calc!

Ordered a Black Silver Bullet over the weekend. Received shipping confirmation and tracking info on Sunday night and had my package Wednesday. I think Rob at Atlsmoke does a great job over there.

Hmmm. Interesting. Wish they had stronger than 16mg. I may get some of that for my wife. She's still having a hard time with PG and VG.
-
Point well made. I love Mr. Bean (has become my second favorite) and I have two Spades. Go figure.
-
Nice! I think I'm getting in the mood to mod again.

Noobie or not, always use protected batteries.

There's been a lot of talk about different volts and HV atty's etc. I could be way off base here, but from my reading it sounds like the watts generated is what drives the vapor production. I've put together a spreadsheet showing the watts generated for regular 510 and 302 atty's vs. the HV atty's. The Joye 510 is 2.2 ohm and the 302 is 3.2 ohms (even verified this myself). The HV atty's for both 510 and 801's come in 4.5ohm and 5.2ohm (although I've only been able to find 4.5ohm atty's... I've only heard about the 5.2 ohm). Anyhow, thought this may help everyone see where you are and give you some ideas about about things and what the different combinations will give you before you try anything. You've all heard about people toasting atty's at high volts - it looks to me like you really start putting the atty at risk when you're over 15+ Watts. Anyhow, if anyone finds any errors, shout it out. If there's some factor I missed, don't be shy. AttyWatts.xls.zip AttyWatts.xls.zip

Actually, I learned about that HERE and then asked about it on the forum because I wasn't sure. Got great answers on the forum. There was some talk about not getting a as good a draw on the carto's with an adapter, but I didn't nitice any difference. I actually used a carto last weekend, and if I could figure out a way to stop getting juiced, they're not bad.
-
If you're using 510 battery (or 510 mod) the 510-901 adapter should work. You can get the lots of places... goodprophets and madvapes are two. I've gotten adapters from both.
-
The 801 to 901 adapter will work with the KR808D-1 carto's. I've used some cartomizers on my VP2 with that adapter. Personally, they didn't work well for me. I've used them on my VP2 and on the regular KR batts. I tend to get juiced a lot. I was using them when driving, but gave it up. Having said that, I know some people really like them, so it's certainly worth trying. Blanks are pretty cheap.

WTG Dave! Can't wait for review. I haven't seen those atty's anywhere around, but I would think it needs to be about 1.7 ohm to generate 8 watts at 3.7v. I have heard of mods with some type of "boster", but since they're saying it's the atty, it sound like it has a lower resistance then the regular 2.2 ohm 510.

How Much Juice Do You Use On Average?
Brian replied to hardwired's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Congrats on 7 days! I'm using 15-20ml per week on average. A good tobacco flavor is VT Traditional Tobacco. Or, like Dave said, 555 is good also. -
I agree - not that into RY4. Not sure why... to sweet maybe. Odd though, I love sweet dawn, but it's a different kind of sweet. Wierd. Sometimes I'll add a drop of it to a coffee flavor, but can't vape it straight. Congrats on the Tornado/Ego!

Here's a vid of what the CR123A looks like when going off. CR123A Battery Fire
-
So, what you're saying is that I shouldn't put much stock in your juice reviews?
-
Yea - I agree. Really sounds like this guy had no waring though. I would have thought the unit would have gotten abnormally hot first, or something. In looking at my units, blowing through the bottom of my spade is almost like blowing through a straw. Pretty well vented. However, it's hard to blow through my VP2. While you can do it, if pressure were to build fast, not sure it would be enough to keep it safe.
-
I've seen some vids of batteries blowing and it's pretty ugly. Honestly, I'm not sure how much help venting really is. Maybe it will prevent the atty from blowing off, but I'm not convinced based on what I've seen. Makes me wonder about the "protected" CR123A's I've got. I may be ordering some Tenergy batts soon. Kind of afraid to use the ones I have now.

Fantastic feedback! Really enjoyed watching that - Thanks! Now if Jeffb will quit moving stuff while I'm trying to post I'll stop having problems.
