  1. Cool man - thanks! Wish I could do that, but did well just to check the ohms on an atty and figure out the calculations to figure up the watts.
  2. Rob said they are refillable. He recommended the condom method, but I don't think I'll do that as long as the top comes off. I'll let you know once I get them.
  3. LOL! No doubt. I've been flicking it occasionally and that seems to be working. Haven't been juiced in over 5 hours now.
  4. Interesting. That would explain why I felt like my first mods worked better (more vapor, better throat hit) than my regular 510 batteries.
  5. Congrats and welcome to VT! I've heard nothing but good things aobut the eGo, so I'm sure you're going to love it. I'm usually up by 5am and go to bed around 10pm. So that's about 17 hours of vaping per day.
  6. Caution on the q-tip thing. Being the dope I am, I stuck a q-tip through the tip, but with the tip on the atty. It flushed the juice right out of the bottom of the atty and made quite a mess. Was like putting a plunger on it. Just like putting on a cart with your finger over the hole. Yep, trash can, stack of paper towels, bottle of alchohol. I also saved my big ash tray (was my Dad's old ash tray and is older than I am) and use it to put part in. Mostly a place to put my atty's to drain, but also for carts and stuff that need cleaned. I also have a little glass that I keep q-tips in. And Hey, it's not OCD - it's a "hobby". Duh.
  7. Dave - I do think you're better off with drip tips than a regular cart. Actually, I'm thinking that the simple answer may just be to "flick" the tip with your finger once in a while. That may be enough to knock off any condensation. I'll be trying that for a while.
  8. Welcome! If you're just looking into starting, I would check out the FAQ vids at the link below. They will give you a lot of info and a general understanding of ecigs. It'll also help you formulate questions and better understand some of the answer you may get. The vids "noob" and "noob2" provide a really good into to ecigs and a lot of the terminology you'll hear. 9. So I just updated my review of the Magnum 510 atty and thought I'd start another thread about the burning taste with HV vaping. If you haven't heard of this atty yet, it's a 510 with a lower resistance (1.5 ohm) that simulates 5 volt vaping. At 1.5 ohms it generates about 9 watts. I use my regular 510 at 3.7v and use the 302 on my VP/PT at 5v. With the 302 at 5V I do occasionally get some burnt taste, but never real bad. However, with the magnum attty at 3.7 I get 3-4 good hits and then total crap burn taste. At first I assumed it was just using up all the juice in 3-4 hits, but after several repeats of of this I got a massive leak and when I blew out the atty I was shocked at how much juice came out. Now, I've heard this is normal for HV vaping, but wanted to get some other opinions. I know many of you use the 510 on the VP/PT, do you have this problems? Also know some of you are using the regular 510 at 6v - same question??? If this is normal, how do you get past the burn taste? If this is normal, then it sounds to me like you need to stay below the 8-9 watt range to avoid it.
  10. Follow up: Magnum 510 Atty: In my "first impression" review I said that I was getting 3-4 hits of great flavor for every 3 drops of juice. I had assumed that because I got such a crappy burn taste after 3-4 hits that all the juice was pretty much used up. So I add 3 drops, get 3-4 hits and repeat. Well, I ended up with major leakage last night and when I blew the atty out and used a paper towel insert I could not believe how much juice came out. Turns out that you get 3-4 hits of great flavor, but that doesn't use up all the juice. After the 3-4 great hits, you have to take a few hits of the crap burn to use up the juice other wise you'll eventually flood the atty and get a massive leak. On those extra drags I take, I don't inhale. They are really bad. I've heard this is normal for HV vaping, but plan to start another thread on the forum to discuss it. For me, this will be for occasional use, not my everyday atty. I use a 302 on my VP/PT and don't have this problem with the burnt taste (at least not to this magnitude), so I'm thinking you have to stay below the 8-9 watt range to avoid this. I'll certainly be looking forward to everyone's input on this. Drip-Tips: After using the drip-tip for a little while I started getting juiced. I figured some condensation was building up inside, so I started rolling up a paper towel and inserting in the tip to absorb it out. However, I still kept getting juice in my mouth. When I pulled the tip off I saw that there is a LOT of condensation built up around the base. With the narrow hole on this thing, it easily gets sucked through once enough gets built up. Seem like the only way to avoid getting juiced is to remove the tip and wipe the base off pretty regularly. I suppose if you're going from having to remove the cart constantly to just removing this every now and then, it's a big plus. For me, I'll probably go back to knocking the guts of of the round carts and using my tail pipe mod - I've never been juiced using that.
  11. Liquidxpress has new cartomizers that are for the 510. These are hard carto's, not the new 510 soft ones. According to Rob, they were specially designed for better airflow, and the coil heats from the center instead of the bottom so they should work better. They are prefilled and only come in four flavors right now (liquidxpress flavors). I'm going to order some to try. I've been wanting to try the Honey Flue Cured anyhow. liquidxpress cartomizer
  12. I'm using it on the Silver Bullet. Haven't used the 2400mah battery long enough to really know if it drops the life, but I've estimated that in theory, it should reduce the life by 30% or so. The site recommends it for batteries over 440mah. Dave's been using it on a VP2 which uses the 14500 900mah batts - same as your BB - and has been getting good life from it.
  13. My first impression - WOW. I ordered some Magnum 510 atty's and drip tips on Wednesday evening and received them this morning. Magnum 510 Atty: If you read ddave's review, I agree with most everything he said. I checked the ohms on this and it measured exactly at 1.5 ohms so it should generate about 9 watts at 3.7v. For comparison, the regular 510 atty (2.2 ohms) generates about 6 watts at 3.7v and about 11 watts at 5v. The 801/302 generates about 4 watts at 3.7v and 8 watts at 5v. The vapor production and throat hit are awesome! I started off with some 24mg VT TT and got a killer throat hit. Then I switched to some 18mg Mr. Bean from liquidxpress and still got a great throat hit. This atty is truly amazing. The one thing I see different from ddave is on the flavor. On both of the juices I've tried I find that the flavor is incredible - better than my regular atty at 3.7v or my 302 at 5v. Seriously. The only downside I see right now is that it does burn through the juice! I'm getting 3-4 hits from 3 drops. However, that's pretty normal for what I get at 5V. Final thoughts - as Dave said - I'll reserve final judgment until I see how long one lasts. For now, I'm just going to enjoy it!!! This may have been exactly what I've been looking for in considering all the voltage and HV atty options. Drip-Tips: I love the drip tips! My first thought was that the hole was to narrow and the juice would build up inside and I'd eventually get juiced. However, when putting in the first drops it actually looks like the tip "sucks" the juice down. The material must be so smooth and slick that the juice just runs right through. I can finally get rid of all the carts I took apart and knocked holes in... I've found an excellent replacement! Also - thumbs-up to Nhaler. Ordered on Wednesday night and received my package Saturday morning.
  14. I think it also has a juicer attachment you can get (auto drip thingy).
  15. LMAO! I haven't been that juiced in a very long time!
  16. Thanks Jesso! Thought it best to ask before trying in this case.
  17. Chris - any reason not to use the enercell with the PT. This enercell with this adapter. This would give you the option of 3, 5, 6, 6.5, 7 and 7.5V on the VP/PT. I know you're not big on going over 5V, but a lot of people seem interested in at least trying it. Personally, I find myself using my 3.7 units more than my PT now days. However, thought this may be a good option for trying the higher volts without buying another unit. Could this damage the PT? Thanks!
  18. It really is a matter of personal taste. Personally, I've found that VT juice is my favorite and seems to have the strongest flavor. However, I also have juice from ENS, Wordup, liquidxpress, awsomevapor and a few others and they are all good.
  19. There is a supplier forum for it on ECF where you can get some info and reviews. While I'd love to have one, that price tag is quite unappealing. The GG on ECF
  20. I found that while the TH was less, it was also quite "scratchy". I would be interested in how the flavor compares vs. a 901. I had originally got a KR808 for my wife, but it didn't work out either. I have used one on my VP/PT and found that you may get one or two good hits and then you have to let is sit for several minutes before you can get another one. Maybe I just haven't messed around with it enough, but I didn't care for them that much. I get juiced a lot with them. I check a filled, but unused carto and it's 3.3ohm. I'd say the 3.6 was empty (dry)? The resistance probably comes down a little when it's wet.
  21. Just FYI - I've found that the attys with the gold band do not get nearly as hot as the solid color (black) atty. My assumption is that the band helps dissipate the heat. I noticed that a long time ago and only use gold band attys. However, I recently pulled out one of my plain black ones and once again I'm amazed at how hot it gets. Hopeing the VT store get the gold band atty's in soon... running low (down to 7).
  22. It does sound like you have a KR808D1... is that correct? There are several vids on youtube on how to refill the cartomizers so that should help you out if you're looking to refill them. Generally, you will only be able to refill a cartomizer a few times. No need to replace the filler material.
  23. All-battery.com is another option. all-battery
  24. I think you want to make sure you get the Tenergy RCR123A's, not the Chinese 16340 (suppose to be the same). I have the 16340's before I got my SB and they are just a little to long. I havn't ordered any Tenergy batts yet, but thinking about it.
