I agree with that. Just be sure to keep it wet because once you taste burning filler, there's no fixing it.

I just checked the voltage on my Joker and it was 6.5V. I put in a fresh set of batteries and it's 7.4V. That's testing it at the atty connector. How can it be a 5V unit? Freshly charged LiFePO4 batts come off the charger at 3.7 to 3.8V so you're getting 7.4-7.6V when first used. It had been posted before that LiFePO4s only deliver 5.18V under load. However, I have to use my SB/PT at 6V on the enercell to get the same results as using two LiFePO4s. So is the Joker only regulated when under load, or is it just that the LiFePO4s only put out 5.18V under load? This is confusing me. Using the same batteries and atty I compared the Joker with the SB and the SB/PT @ 6V and don't see any difference. However, when I set the enercell to 5V it does not perform as well as the LiFePO4s.

I have the VP/PT and also have the PT for my SB. VP/PT would probably be your best option, price wise. However, the SB is quite a versatile unit that you can use with a battery on the go or with the PT. You can also use it with the enercell adapter that will give you various volts. I use the VP/PT with the 302 (801).

I've always had excellent service from Jason.

I think altsmoke also had LR 901s, 801s and 510s.

In the mean time, you can try this. Tail Pipe

You can buy different adapters for the enercell. It some with a long cord and you can attached a variety of adapters on the end. The SB/PT uses an N adapter. Or you can get a USB adapter and use the cord that came with the SB/PT. I posted a vid (not a very good one) that tells a little more about it. Enercell Adapter Plug N USB adapter plug My Vid of SB/PT and Enercell Hope this helps! BTW - I got mine at my local Radio Shack. Make sure you get the one that is 2 Amp.

I love my black SB and would highly recommend it. Good at 3.7 with a 2400 mAh battery or at 6V with two 3v batts (LiFePO4). You can also get a pass through for it which is fantastic also. I'm using the PT with an enercell adapter which allows you to switch volts from 3, 5, 6, 6.5, 7 and 7.5. It's a very solid unit and will last a long time.

Good Grief! Ok - well, I've tried a few and realy didn't care for most of them except the VT Tobacco (which is my every day vape). Some things that may be of interest... Luck Strike from ENS is probably the closest I've come to a real cigarette taste. The B&H also close. I would suggest looking at wordup as Jeffrey seems to have the largest selection of tobacco flavors I've seen. You can get the 5ml sample pack for $20 (or something like that). May be a good way to try several flavors until you find one they like.

I refilled that carto and it's still doing the same thing. I think it's fried.

So I was vaping away last night with the Joker and carto. Really loving this set up. Anyhow, the light went from green to blue and then off. I take another drag and get the same thing, but it's not shutting off, just the light went from green to blue and then off. Just to clarify, even though the light shut off, it was still vaping. At first I thought the batteries were just getting low, but was wondering why the LED didn't stay blue. After a few more hits (all doing the same thing with the LEDs) I started to taste filler. I didn't refill, but I did switch to a new carto I had filled with Sweet Dawn and the LEDs worked fine after that. I'll be using it all day today to see if it'll do it again. Could it be that the Joker knows when you need to refill? Will a dry carto pull a different load which causes the Joker's LEDs to change? Anyone else had this happen?

@Chris - I think you mis-read what he said. He's just asking how the Joker is a 5V unit since it uses two 3V batteries (6V). He's not asking about using other batteries.

I used a carto on the Joker all day yesterday and it's fantastic. Previously I had thought of the carto for use only "on the go", but now I'm reconsidering. At 5V I'm getting a really good TH and great flavor. I didn't keep track of how long it lasted, but I'd say it was around 4 hours between refills.

Jeffrey - I do think you're taking Chris' comment the wrong way. He was trying to save someone some money and suggested wordup for a cheaper alternative to Janty. Nice that he gave you a plug instead of his own store. He's also mentioned on the forum that he plans to sell the Joye eGo soon himself. He wasn't being derogatory. When he said "generic", I simply took it to mean that it's not Janty branded.

I'm using a drip tip on my cartomizer because it was burning my lips. Works great with the drip tip.

They most likely will not post the secret inner workings of the Joker, but it probably uses some type of 5V regulator (similar to what a 5v box mod uses).
-
I haven't tried it, but I have heard that it works well with everclear.
-
Yes - like Dave said, when you drip into it, once it starts to pool on top of the filler, shake it down like an old thermometer and drip some more. Another tip, before putting it on your battery, gently blow through it into a napkin got get any juice out of that center tube.

Wasn't me. Great recap of your experience. Congrats on your success!

I prefer to drip fill because I can see when there's enough juice in it. I have found some inconsistencies in how much filler material is in each carto. Some cartos I get 40 drops easily, but I've had a few that would only hold 30. I think FTJoe was the first one to notice this. I haven't used a carto at 6V yet, so I'll wait for ddave to answer that. However, I suspect that at 6v you vaporize the juice faster than it can wick to the atty. Seems like you'd get a few good hits and then have to wait for it to wick. I will be using a carto on the Joker when it gets here.

An interesting thing I found recently... a while back WillBlack posted a pic of LiFePO4s under load only producing 5.18V, not the 6V everyone assumed. However, I got an enercell adapter a couple of weeks ago to use with my SB/PT. I first set it to 5V figuring it would be similar to using two LiFePO4s in my SB. NOT. It wasn't even close. When I switched the enercell to 6V I could not tell the difference between it and using two LiFePO4s. So, now I don't know what the real answer is. The enercell is 2 amp and can switch between 3, 5, 6, 6.5, 7 and 7.5V. I've got some HV attys and will be experimenting with the over 6V options later, but just wanted to throw this out there.
