I just did my first ever video review with an old hp photosmart E317 5mp digital camera ( without any webcam option ), just proped it on top of my skinny lcd monitor with some folded paper for the right angle and shot away lol. I then edited and titled it etc,.. with the built in windows movie maker in Vista home premium. the review was on the Kung Pao chicken flavor juice that someone sent to Chris and he in turn sent me a sample of. It will be in the video review section of the forum as soon as a moderator approves it. enjoy. P.S. feel free to make fun of my " professional " {cough} {cough} videography :P

Don't Drink The Water?
DannyBoyfromWashington replied to stubear62's topic in The Vape Lounge - Off Topic Chat
:warning: Don't ever use country time lemonade to mix everclear, ( you might not realise the potency ). I tried it 1 time 1/2 water 1/2 everclear and enough country time mix for 2 times the glass size and let's just say "Oh Boy". -
Wow - Hbo Rock And Roll

Sounds like one "heck" of a concert, dub that dvd for me please -
I have had GREAT success with a 7-11 (can i mention them here?) coffee straw cut just slightly shorter than the IL (internal length) of the cartridge and then cut in 1/2 lengthwise with the end that goes at the bottom of the cart cut at a 45 degree angle. I also cut the bottom half of the filler out. here's a pic that may help... if you have seen these types of carts then it should make sense, anyway i get great flow but not too much and can vape for an hour or more without adding juice and get great billowing clouds I mostly use the 901 carts on a 510 atty and fit around 15 - 18 drops in a dry cart with PG, and maybee 10 - 13 drops with VG. enjoy.

Dripping And Driving

I think you make a very valid point, and with what you said in mind I will have to say no, it should not be illegal. -

Ok, for the benefit of those who do not know "flamer" as I was using it means someone who talks trash about other people on the forum type of thing. I will have to check the urban dictionary definition, and thanks for bringing that to my atention (edit) ok, I just checked www.urbandictionary.com and it was definition #5 I was referencing. ( hope they don't change the order they have them in from when I looked at it) -

DannyBoyfromWashington replied to SmokinHammer's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Ok let me start with the fact that I have only tried a dozen or so forums but have not stuck with any of them more than 3 days due to various reasons ( mostly flamers and not much intelligent discussion ). In this forum however I have not seen a single flamer and almost all of the discussions have at least some interesting or valuable content. It keeps me coming back. Love it. -
Has anyone here ever really thought about the "word" politics? ( Warning: I over analyze everything ) Well here it is in a nutshell... politics is made up of 2 words, (1) Poly (latin for alot of something) and (2) Ticks (little bloodsucking insects). Hope this helps you understand what is causing your irritation whenever this word comes up.

Wait! Kung Pow chicken? Dude I love Kung Pow, where did you get it? And have you tried it yet? Does it actualy taste like kung pow?

As much as I would love to agree with you about good prevailing in the end, I cannot be that sure. There are too many examples of the U.S. government being in an advanced state of entropy. ( note: I do not disagree however that there are still "some" good people involved in our government and that means hope exists in however small a form).

Nah, the F.D.A just "called" it illegal, no part of the e-cig or properly made juice is in fact illegal. nicotine, bought over the counter (patches, gum etc..)PG, food flavorings, water, LI batterys, wire, threaded metal pieces, metal spring (in the atty),ceramic, plastic and polly fill. All these things are not illegal in whole or in part, this is just another type of scare tactic ( it does not have to be tru for them to say it) I challenge anyone to find a law on the books in any state in the U.S that even mentions electronic cigarettes. Just another scare tactic. Calling them "dangerous" may scare some people, then calling them "illegal" may scare other people the first statement did not, the F D A can make "unfounded" statements just like tv advertisers, and they are just trying to cover all the scare tactic bases. hope this clarifies.

Just want to add that wordupecig.com has VG juices. Not sure what percent PG/VG or if straight VG, but I know the Lauren's coffee VG is very good. Oh, and there is no known harm from PG unless you are one of the extremely rare few that are actualy allergic to it and even then the allergy symptoms reported are fairly mild, the vapor from PG has actualy been found to kill flu and pneumonia virus in the air. ( beneficial to everyone around you )

Second Hand Nicotine
DannyBoyfromWashington replied to Speakeasy's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Funny you should mention vaping curing the common cold. lab test are showing that it may well do exactly that (pg at least) the vapor from pg has been proven to almost immediately kill the influenza virus and harmfull bacteria in the air. http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,932876,00.html And on a side note about nicotine being breathed second hand,.. An average smokers lungs will absorb 80% of the nicotine inhaled if held in the lungs for 1 second, and more if held longer. In healthy lungs this absorbtion climbs to 95-100% and nicotine evaporates faster than water so before the water vapor even fades the residual expelled nicotine is long gone. Edit: my link does not want to apear properly but I am sure one of the moderators probably knows the article and can fix this. ( I hope ) -
Even if those (F.riggin D.umb A.$$es) ban e-cigs, that cannot stop you from "legaly" making your own and using it. An atomizer is really a simple device to make and Nicotine can be fairly easily extracted from lots of leafy vegetables ( yes, some leafy vegetables have nicotine in them ). now the device I might come up with in my shop may not look as nice but will work just as well. Though it would take alot of leafy veggies to get a decent amount of nicotine

Ok folks, just thought I'd point out something else that may sound a little "tinfoil hatish". Consider that the electronic cigarette with hardly any trace tobacco additives would not count as smoking on life insurance policies, while PM's proposed solution to be used in their "vaporizer" has more tobacco products added. Enough that it would still count as smoking and thus keep your premiums way up there. so we have the trifecta PM, FDA, and the insurance industry. submitted for your consideration......

Glad it is working good for you and I am sory if I somehow gave the impression that it would combust the material in the vapor chamber. I must try harder to be clear in my posts

Ok, sorry to beat this to death but after exhaustive research I managed to track down the patent # for the Iolite and here is what followed,... information taken from http://www.faqs.org/patents/app/20090044818 [0007]In recent years, in place of or in addition to tobacco, non-combustion type smoking articles have been developed for enjoying flavor and taste of tobacco and for enjoying aerosol without combusting tobacco leaves. These non-combustion type smoking articles comprise a heat source which is a heat-generating member mounted on the tip and an aerosol-generating section including an aerosol-generating material formed of an appropriate substrate on which a flavoring component is carried. The heat source is physically separated from the aerosol-generating section. In the smoking articles of this type, ""the heat source is combusted"", and the heat of combustion heats the aerosol-generating member without combustion to generate an aerosol containing the flavoring component. Smokers inhale the aerosol to enjoy the flavor. As the heat source, a carbonaceous heat source is exclusively used. United States Patent 3784353 ( this is the patent # for the "non combustion" heating element in the Iolite herbal vaporizer) for full breakdown of the device please go to : http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO1&Sect2=HITOFF&d=PALL&p=1&u=%2Fnetahtml%2FPTO%2Fsrchnum.htm&r=1&f=G&l=50&s1=3784353.PN.&OS=PN/3784353&RS=PN/3784353 And the short of it? Though very brief there is indeed a combustion taking place to start the reaction and this means that if used in a smoking ban area the police would have grounds for confiscating the device and enforcing legal action persuant to local smoking ban violations. But do not lose hope, this action would only take place if someone put up a big stink after seeing you using it and if the local police knew enough about the device. Just don't want ya to get in trouble on a technicality if you use the Iolite in a smoking ban area. now as to your main question about other vaporisers to use at home, some of them may work well with some experimentation (like using cotton in the herb chamber to more evenly distribute the e-juice) and I would "assume"(dangerous teritory again)that you would want a temperature around 300-350 degrees farenheit since this is the temperature range that niccotine changes from liquid to gaseous form. hope this helps.

I guess I am just confused on how the thing works then. I have been all over the web looking for a complete parts blow up to no avail. all I can find are the few replacable parts. I am no slouch in the physics department, short of a bachelors degree, and still do not know how butane is being used to create heat without combustion, unless it is just using the gas expansion through a turbine of some sort to change the stored energy to electricity? maybee you can clarify that for me please? I guess I just assumed (carefull with those) from the information available that it was using a seperately exhausted combustion chamber and a heat relay to transfer the heat to the pin which in turn heated the vapor chamber. I would love some more detailed information on the process this device uses. If I am wrong about it's mode of function then I sincerely apologise for casting any dispersions on using it in place of an e-cig device. Update: further investigation indicates that it is using some other power source besides the butane which allows it to use the butane as a heat catalyst without combustion ( i.e. A battery of some sort ) still not real clear on what it uses since it claims to not use a battery.

I should probably clarify that I am in Washington State, not DC.
