New E-Juice Site Recommendations Please
Tektronik replied to Tektronik's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Thanks to everyone who has chimed in on this thread and provided me with some very good sources to find some good Juice! I wrote down all those sites and your recommendations and will be going through the list. I'll hit up two sites each payday! Once again Thanks Vapor Talk! -
New E-Juice Site Recommendations Please
Tektronik replied to Tektronik's topic in General Vaping Discussion
You know, when you posted that review the other night, I went to that site and saw that hpnotiq on the front page. It's making me very curious about it. Lately, I've become hooked on this Cognac flavor from BombDropsVapor.com. I used up an entire 15ml bottle of it in one week, and ordered another, this time with orange mixed in. It was even better! Kind of like Gran Marnier. That hpnotiq is certainly one I'm going to have to try! Thanks a lot! -

New E-Juice Site Recommendations Please

I understand what you mean by layers. It's like it's not blended, the flavors come out in stages. Your flavor on the inhale could be different from the flavor in the exhale when two or more juices are mixed. Or when you exhale, you will taste one flavor first, then the second one will follow! I will definitely try your two recommendations. Thanks for providing your input and your justifications! -

Awesome Vapor--see I hear about these sites just by casually reading but never really focus in on it or save the website. Thanks for your input. I'm going to bookmark it and look at closely on payday! Thanks! -
New E-Juice Site Recommendations Please
Tektronik replied to Tektronik's topic in General Vaping Discussion
I've heard some good things about AVEjuice, and I think someone quite some time ago mentioned about vermont vapors. I'll check them out. Thanks! -
I don't know where else to post this. I'm looking for new e-juice. Let me start off by listing the places I've ordered from. VaporCountry Johnson Creek E-liquid Planet ElectroNicStix BombDropsVapor VaporTalk Store That's pretty much it. I want to try a new site, new flavors. Getting tired of my old spots. I would love to hear from all of you on your recommendations. Payday is just around the corner. i wouldn't mind if you'd all list as many sites as you can think of (would recommend anyways). I'll go to each site and check it out! One thing I'm not looking for are Chinese Juices (Suppliers using Chinese liquids and mixing them up themselves). I want American-made Juices. Thanks in advance, Tektronik

Definitely consider the XHaler. It's a well built unit that fires every time, but and there's always a but, you have to maintain the switch yourself about once a week. You have all the voltage options and can use two different battery sizes. It's not as bulky as the SB, it's more simplistic than any VP series device which means there's less that can go wrong, and the best thing is, it fires every time (again, provided you maintain the switch about once a week). If you get one, definitely get one with the new button! If you have any more questions, PM me.

What device are you using? Cartomizers don't work well with my Spade, VP2, or my plasitic box mods. It's as if those batteries don't have the power behind it to really produce. Where it DOES work is with my XHaler at 3.7 volts. I use the AW brand 17670 battery. That seems to have enough power behind it to make it work yet not so strong as high volts to atomize too quickly. It's just my own experience.
-
Not quite sure by what you mean, but if you mean how do I use them and get them to work then I'd say at least for me anyways, it's a combination of condom filling and direct dripping. I condom fill at night before bed (that didn't sound right), use them in the car for the drive to work, then direct drip while I'm at my desk. I use a Drip tip on it and top off with about 5-15 drops. i usually do about 5 drops at at time. After you add drops, you gotta inhale very slowly so you don't get juiced. After about 5 or six drags, i can inhale like normal again until I have to top off again. With as much as I vape, it's still better than 3 drops every 6-7 drags. I noticed the flavor is much less, and the vapor is OK, but still not too bad. Maybe I'm still doing something wrong, and there is a better way. Any suggestions?

I hope those really work out. I've finally figured out how to use the regular cartomizers with a 4.2-3.7 volt device, but it seems like every time I try one on a higher voltage device, the juice in there doesn't flow fast enough through the filling to the heating element and I just get a burnt taste. I'm curious to learn if the same thing occurs with LR cartos. Good luck and please let us know of your experiences.

It can, under certain conditions. Tight jeans, don't even try it. Loose clothing, including shirt pockets, cargo pockets, et. all, no problem. The tension on the spring is strong enough that it won't go off unless you're really careless. My military uniform--ABUs (AF) has a pocket inside the cargo pockets where the XHaler fits perfectly and upright. I've never had it fire in my cargo pockets before. Keep in mind that the switch has a "long throw" meaning that you have to press it all the way down for it to fire. The spring tension is enough to kep this from happening unless you stuff in a tight pocket haphazardly. In my opinion, the Xhaler is just one step away from a locking mechanism now that the new switch upgrade allows the button to rotate freely. It wouldn't take much to make one more modification to the plunger to make a locking switch. I'm sure as soon as NHaler realizes this, they will go to work on it!

It makes a HUGE difference! You can face the button toward the inside of your palm and just give the whole thing a squeeze now and it'll fire. It's much easier to use now.

Whats Your Preferred Atomizer Cleaning Method?
Tektronik replied to VapingSoldier's topic in General Vaping Discussion
I use a large syringe. The one you'd use to inject liquid seasoning into turkeys or chickens before you smoke them of deep fry them. Mine came with a bottle of Tony Cachiere's seasoning. Use the rubber grip from a pen as the adaptor. put one side over the syringe and the other side over an atomizer. Pour Everclear pure grain alcohol into a small cup, draw the everclear through the atomizer into the syringe and back out into the cup, Do this about three times and either let dry overnight or rinse out with water and burn out all the water/alcohol by using e-juice. I do this to get any leftover taste out of the atomizer. It's a very effective method. -
Vaping Vs Smoking And The Stealth Factor
Tektronik replied to vandyke's topic in General Vaping Discussion
You may have figured it out by now, but here's what I do to "stealth vape". Keep a retractable ball point pen on you. When you feel the need to be stealthy, Take the pen apart. Take as big a drag off your device as you need to. Exhale through the tip of the pen-you know, the part where the barrel of the pen tapers down to a small hole for the ball point to go through. Try to find a pen that doesn't make a whistling sound when you blow through it. You'll be amazed to see very little to NO vapor come out. Enven if there is just a little vapor, it won't be enough for anyone to notice compared to the great plume of vapor coming out your mouth if you didn't use the pen tip! If you don't have a pen tip handy, you can always exhale through a spare atomizer. Just put your mouth over the threaded part. It helps if you already have a drip tip or blank cartridge already connected so you don't get juice everywhere. Spread the word; I don't know just how many people know about this already. -
Joye 510 Low Resistance Atomizer
Tektronik replied to Xx92JWW86xX's topic in General Vaping Discussion
You are doing Fine! Its a learning curve that everyone who drips will experience. Become ONE with your atomizer. As soon as you start to taste even a hint of burnt-add two or three more drops. When you get a whole LOT of vapor, that means you have about two or three more drags before the burnt taste. Add three more drops. Heat is bad. Its like firing a rifle more than three times in semi auto, the barrel gets real hot. Same with the LR atty. Juice will run out of the holes. You will find balance. Use the force... -
Vypr Vs Joker. Advice/input Wanted!
Tektronik replied to Stirfry's topic in General Vaping Discussion
When I'm on the go, I prefer to vape at 3.7 volts When I'm sitting in one place for a long time, I prefer high volts. I would go with the Vypr. It's the size that matters to me. The Vypr is small enough to get around with, yet has enough power for a LR atty. When I use my VP2, I usually carry two extra 14500s with me, but rarely ever get to the third battery. Think of the Vypr as comparable to the eGo, except that the batteries are cheaper because you don't have to buy proprietary batts. -
Yes, I'm experiencing the same thing. At 6 volts, well 5.something with the tenergies according to the latest buzz, the cartos that I fill up vaporize so quickly that I have to wait a while after about 3 or 4 vapes until the juice evens out I guess. I suppose there's still some getting used to it. When you've been dripping for so long, you gain an affinity with your atomizer and know when it needs more juice or how far you can take ot without flooding. I can't "bond" with my cartos, yet.

That's sounds a little peculiar. I don't own a Joker, but what is the recommended atomizer? Is it a standard Joye 510? Can you use a knock off 510? You know because the knock offs are slightly higher in Ohms than the standard 2.2 Ohm Joye. Do you think the Joker has the ability to adjust if you change out the atomizer? i thought a 5 volt regulator just outputs 5 volts, so one would think that you'd get 5 volts right off the connector. Do you own a VP-PT? is it 5 volts right off the atty connector?

How are you getting by without MS Office 2008? Open Office? The Mac is great; I'm running two monitors, but there's still a learning curve on how to manipulate the desktop when you have all sorts of stuff open. I'm sure it's because I'm so used to windows that I don't know the ins and outs of the OS. Any recommendations on learning material?

I know there's not many out there who use an XHaler religiously, but for those of you who do, NHaler just came out with a new button/switch assembly for their XHaler and their "mini" XSHalers. I got mine in the mail today. They just came out before the memorial day weekend. It's a small modification- you remove the standard brass button/switch rod which makes contact with the inner body of the tube and replace it with a similar looking contact rod except this one has a small threaded hole in the top of the brass rod and you screw in a delrin button that is the same diameter as the delrin sleeve which protrudes from a hole in the tubing near the bottom end (on the side). After you put everything back together, the New delrin button greatly improves the feel of the switch. Its now much easier to activate the device with any finger, and puts less stress on your middle and last two fingers should you choose to press with those fingers. You could just palm the whole thing and squeeze and the device will fire with ease! The action is still firm enough so it won't accidentally activate if its situated in you pocket just right, but when I took everything apart, i stretched the spring just a little to make it a little more firm (to my liking). I'm telling, you, it's simply a much better action than the previous standard button/switch! Plus, now I don't have to polish the old brass button every week like I used to (along with the brass atomizer endcaps) Go to NHaler's website and check it out! Drew even made a video on how to do the install and even includes the right size allen key for the screw. I'd take pictures, but you all know what an XHaler looks like right? Now all they have to do is make that switch with a locking mechanism like the GG! That would be so sweet! By the way, i just put a new "skin" ( Nhaler sells different foil adhesive skins) on mine and it's practically a new toy all over again! If you already own an Xhaler or Mini XHaler and haven't used it in a while, you'll breathe new life into it with this small modification Tektronik OK, Fine, here's a picture

Very Nice, Nana, Thanks for sharing. This song/video should get national attention!

I'm in with Jeffb in that If you want to stock up on batteries, you could instead change to a device which uses commonly used rechargeable batteries rather than proprietary ones. I do the same thing with each atty I get from a supplier. I use a multimeter, set it to measure ohms, and check them before I make them part of my collection. This way I know that they are good to use when the time comes. They won't go bad just sitting in a box somewhere, unless that box was filled with battery acid or something corrosive like that! For the actual Lithium Ion chemistry of the eGo batteries, I'd recommend you use a multimeter when you first get them to make sure they have a charge, and 1) store them away-they are supposed to be good for 2 to 3 years on their partial shipping charge 2) use them. make them part of your normal rotation of batteries. I'd prefer to do the latter. That way it would get rid of any unknowns in my own head as to whether or not they still work. Personally, its the atomizers that I'm worried about. I trying to slowly stock up on those myself.
