  1. If the device you're plugging in needs one amp to function properly, one amp is what it will draw from the outlet. The 60 watt bulb in my reading lamp, running at 120 volts, is plugged into a standard 15 amp outlet, but it only draws 0.5 amps. If I plug it in to a 20 amp outlet, it will still only draw 0.5 amps.
  2. I think GDub is on to something here... Make your cousin build you one!
  3. According to the info I just found HERE a battery like the Duracell Copper top shown in your cousins build will put out 9 volts at 1 amp with a mAH rating of only 90. I know this would improve if you're using a voltage regulator to change the output to 5V, but I don't think it would be a dramatic improvement. My opinion is that it would work, but not for long.
  4. Have you cleaned your atomizer at all? Do you, at least, set your atomizer on some paper towels at night so that whatever built up juice can drain out? I've been using my 510 for about three weeks now, and it's working perfectly. I'm hoping to get another week or two out of this atomizer (yes, I'm still using my 1st) but they do need to be maintained.
  5. I have a good friend who is OCD about everything. He actually likes to call it CDO because he prefers alphabetical order.
  6. I've had friends ask if they can try my 510, but no strangers. I haven't had anybody ask to borrow it! My Spade is my baby, and nobody's touching that but me! I do try to carry the business cards from my favorite suppliers so I can hand them out to people who seem to have a true interest. Geez, can you imagine sitting in a restaurant and having some stranger ask to try out your fork? People are weird.
  7. Wow, that really sucks. Not that I'd ever do anything illegal, but, I assume there are some terrible, horrible people who have friends or relatives in the states repackage their supplies and then send them over the boarder. Truly unconscionable. Who could even thing of such a thing? Okay, everyone move along... nothing to see here.
  8. Hot cinnamon candy! I might have to try some of that. Thanks for the info. I hadn't heard of Capellas before.
  9. I double checked that calculator, and it does have a note that 20 drops per ml. is an estimation, and that 20 drops of water from an dropper is approximately one ml. There's lots of variables, different fluids, (at different temperatures) different diameters on the dropper or bottle. I don't think a drop is a very accurate measurement. Kinda like a pinch.
  10. Any usb adapter for a car cig lighter should be putting out 5 volts dc. I use one I had that was part of a iPhone car charger and it works fine. Dlynne, be sure to check the battery in the pass through to be sure its installed correctly. Also, be gentle with the pass though, don't put stress on any of the spots where wires connect to components, as there are plenty of places for a wire to wear and short out.
  11. There's about 20 drops in a ml, at least according to the juice mixing calculator you can find in the DIY e-juice forum. All I know is, when I got my VT 24 mg the other day, I was vaping it like crazy and started feeling a bit weird. The next day, I backed it off to around 14 or 15 mg by adding VG, and now it's perfect for me. When I was on analogs, I was pounding through 1 or 2 packs of Camel lights a day. I'm sure people who smoked less, vape stronger juice than I like. I don't know why this is such an issue, except for the noobs who are trying to answer questions that are really such a matter of personal taste that they cant be answered. Everybody's different.
  12. That's AWESOME dlynne! Keep it up! I'm just a few weeks in to vaping, and it just keeps getting better and better. What flavors have you tried so far? Any favorites emerging?
  13. It sure sounds like you've been very dedicated and persistent. I have to ask, exactly how long have you been working on this?
  14. Hallelujah! Nice work Mooby!
  15. Ahh, "just because," the best reason of all!
  16. Holy cow, Stu, you should check the classifieds and try to save some money. I've gotten some great deals from this guy in South Carolina who.......... oh, never mind, that's you. Keep up the good work!
  17. I swear, this kind of stuff makes me feel ill; literally. I'm a little sick to my stomach. What a mix of anger and disappointment.
  18. I was looking at the eGo too, and asking some of the same questions; but, I think I have to wait until I see what the new Maserati looks like before I make any decisions. Until then, I'll just enjoy my Spade.
  19. Good work, Stu. Maybe you should take your show on the road. You could be the Johnny Appleseed of vaping!
  20. It's an Atheros AR5007. I did run the live cd, and Ubuntu did not find it. I then read tons of stuff about how to make it work, including lots of posts about having to continually monkey with it to keep it working, and decided that it's to much of a pain. (For me and my skill set, anyway.) Now I'm thinking of getting a Dell mini 10V, just so I can try Linux on something that runs it well. I think I'll PM FTJoe and see how he likes his. Thanks for the link to that test, NeRo9k, maybe I'll try some of the other live cd's.
  21. Congrats Green! Nice work... just don't quit your day job!
  22. I figured Sunday morning would be a good time to check out this post. Now I'm wiping tears off my face from laughing out loud for three straight minutes! That's effen hysterical!
  23. Someday, I will find you all, and stuff a snowball down your pants. :P
  24. I think it was a couple hours (2 1/2 maybe) before the charger led went green when I first got mine. After the initial charge, they now "cook" for just about an hour and they're fully charged.
  25. Wow, the pass through for my 510 just showed up a few hours ago, and now there's no Vapor Talk to stare at while I puff my brains out all weekend. What else is the internet good for? Maybe I'll see if there's any pictures of girls on here.
