  1. For the price ,and considering how good they work for three or four days I don't think you can beat carto's even with the drawbacks.I throw away the rubber plug and use a DSE 901 cart that I cut down a little .I don't care for the round metal in my mouth and it is easier to pop off the cart to refill.510 carts fit as well for the 510 carto's.I got some 306 carto's as I thought it would not waste as much liquid, they were very nice but I couldn't find a cart or drip tip to fit them so I cut the end out of a condom/cover to insulate it,I was able to use the box up that way.The ceramic cartos seem promising but I don't care to much for the idea of having to tote around a syringe to refill with.
  2. I am not sure why you would want a pipestyle as I doubt you will get any better vapor than with the SD.A lot of people spend a lot of money trying to reproduce that vapor cloud they see in the reveiw video's.If the lighting is right and you have the technique down you can do that with any of them.Save your money and get a large stock of some tasty liquids and enjoy what you have.
  3. If they work ok with the filler sticking out use them.I am too frugal to not use something I can make work. You can use them on refillable carto's ,much easier to remove for filling than the rubber plugs.
  4. They look like too much hassle for me,you hasta use a syringe to fill them. And they don't have any longer recomended lifespan than a regular carto. Some of the reveiws say they taste funny but that could be what the liquid really tastes like.
  5. I have not heard of low resistance batteries ,but I have heard of low resistance atties and carto's.They give you the effect of vaping at a higher voltage. As far as liquid goes I have been vaping for over a year and a half and I go through 30 to 45 ml a week.Make sure to keep plenty of liquid and atties/carto's on hand as it bites to be out and waiting for the mailman.
  6. I have found the ones with silver threads to be more consistant than the ones with brass threads. For less than $2.00 each I don't see how they could have too good of quality control on these things .And that $2.00 is allowing for the supplier you bought them from to make a little coin. You can scooch the filler around and open up the hole down the middle as DAYVAPE suggested and make them work a little better. There is only a small percentage of the filler in the vicinity of the element ,on the silver threaded ones the element is embeded lengthwise on the brass ones it is sorta crossways at the end of the filler. After some use the filler in the vicinity of the element burns or melts away with use and this is what causes them to not work or taste as good.Overall for me they work better than atties for three or four days then it is time for another.
  7. I would guess those are for an RN model ,I use the DSE 901 whistle tips for my 510's and they work perfect and are a flatter whistle tip than Joye's.The DSE's are flat on two sides not one like Joye but fit perfectly. The only problem I have had is there is a plug in the end that falls out ,it doesn't affect operation but makes the opening a little larger.I suspect it is a baffle to help keep condensation from getting in the mouth.
  8. I dismantled a carto with silver threads and if you turn the connecter too much you will break the wire.It is not threaded so if it changes anything it is just by luck as it does not appear to be designed to be an adjustment. The notches appear to be for letting air go in the middle of the filler.
  9. I usually prefer attomisers but lately the quality control is very bad.I am having trouble finding any that will wick from a cart right. So I have been using carto's with the silver theads as they are very consistant for about three days.
  10. 18650 batteries are kind of big for me ,I feel like I am carrying a baseball bat around. They do remain consistant for quite a while though.
  11. You hasta be smarter than yer smart phone I suppose.I guess that is why I don't have one to make me look more stupider.
  12. Wattage is a measure of the amount of heat produced, ,current is the amount of electrons flowing in the circut and can be used to determine wattage. Here is another peice to the puzzle.Protected batteries have a circut board that limits the current flow to keep them from discharging too rapidly or charging too rapidly,This is supposed to keep them from causing a sudden release of energy ,or explosion .So to predict the amperage or wattage you would have to discern the current limiting setting of the particular battery.I am not sure what happens when you put two protected batteries in series for higher voltage applications as you would have two circut boards in series trying to limit the current through thier respective cells. It would be possible to actually measure the current with a little construction work.I am not sure it is worth the effort as there is nothing you can do other than building a mod with parallel batteries to increase currrent.
  13. Battery life is hard to compare as we all vape differently.Things that affect battery life would be resistance of atty/carto,age of atty/carto as the resistance goes up with age ,how often and for how long you vape.I have some 18605's that sometimes last a day or two on a charge and other times four hours.Lately I have been using 14650's and 14500's and get between four and eight hours from them.I have also found that some atties and carto's are more prone to leakage than others and the liquid causes a short at the battery connecter shortening the charge time and amount of vapor produced ,as the current takes the easiest path.
  14. Not to sound too preachy but it seems when people feared God and knew he was watching and they would have to answer for what they do we were a little more civilised society.Im. just sayin.
  15. That is how I determine it is time for a new carto, when the flavor goes away it is time for a new one.I tried cleaning one and poking around in the filler .I decided they are disposable.Nothing quite like a new carto filled with my favorite liquid for me.I usually three or four days from one arounf 10 to 15 ml.
  16. Great testimony WVfem,I agree with you that vaping is not quite as addictive.I use low or no nic depending on where I order from and cannot tell the difference.I did however find if use too much high nic free samples before bedtime I cannot sleep.
  17. I don't think there was much thrust ,those seemed more like smoke canisters.
  18. Ok ,you caught me.
  19. Best to stick with the cartos with the silver threads, they seem to have better quality control.
  20. That is one drawback to big batteries ,it totaly blows when a $20.00 battery breaks.I would recomend keeping a passthrough and some stock batteries on hand .It is even worse when your $100.00 mod takes a dump on you, although they can usually be fixed ,in time.
  21. I would just get an RN4081 kit as they are easier to come by and you might get lucky and have a match. It is a good idea to have two chargers and you can never have enough batteries and atties/cartos.
  22. Very nice.
  23. Kind of hard to do much quality control and still have them be so inexpensive.I am surprised they are as good as they are.
  24. The low resistance atties are heating the liquid to a higher temperature and it is probably burning it causing the burnt primer taste. The only way to get rid of it is to blow it out. Some liquids taste better at high voltage/low resistance than others.Sounds like yours doesn't.I have never liked higher voltage all my liquids taste burnt to me so I stick with 4 volts or 3.7.I suppose if your taste buds and sense of smell have not healed yet you might need the high voltage /low resistance to taste anything,I had that problem for the first 7 or 8 months I could not find many liquids I could taste.Noe after a year and a half I am finding some liquids I discounted before taste very good.
  25. I would cut back on the nic go to 6 or 11 mg ,I vape almost constantly and when I was using nicotine I had trouble sleeping at night at higher levels. There is not much in vapor besides nicotine to cause problems unless you have allergies to PG.
