  1. That is one of the pitfalls of looking for the cheapest price. All suppliers have to pay the same price for this stuff from pretty much the same wholesalers .To be able to offer lower prices to the consumer they have to leave out something or sell you a knockoff from another manufacturer. The no box kits are just some bulk batteries,atties/cartos and a charger .It is a good way for someone who is already familiar with vaping to get well stocked ,but not so good for a noobie as you found out.As for Janty Joye Janty thinks this stuff up and Joye builds it for them ,they are usually exclusive Janty for about six months and then Joye can can start selling it under the Joye brand.
  2. Most vapers are people who are looking for another way to get the nic fix and they will recomend you go with high nic level juice.I found out as you did it is better to go as small a level as you can get away with and just vape more often.I started with a medium level and worked down to low or no nic as fast as possible.During the stepdown process I kept a little higher nic just in case .Vaping is not smoking ,not even close ,as soon as you realise that and just accept it as an alternative the better you will be.No liquid tastes like burning tobacco leaves ,but there are a lot of very good flavored liquids that you will soon be looking forward to, and once you master the act of vaping you will be able to blow vapor rings and cloud up a room.Ther ecigg is an acceptable pacifier for the hand to mouth addiction a pacifier if will and the nicotine keeps the heebie jeebies away.Good luck and hang in there. You soon will be grossed out by the smell of stale smoke on peoples clothing and you will not want to go back to that. There is no telling how long we will have the access we have to this stuff as the FDA is trying every trick in the book to ban it so make the best use of it as you can while you can to beat your addiction to nicotine .
  3. I upgraded all the way back to 14500 box mods with 510 connectors.Costs less than $10.00 to build and they work like a charm.I use 510 and 306 atties and 510 cartomisers on them.
  4. I use VT and Dekang liquids and get four or five days from one. They still work but not as good as fresh one.Thats pretty economical I think. The domestic liquids seem to ruin atties and cartos faster for me.There will always be something left after what vaporises vaporises and that is what builds up and funks them out.
  5. If you have a passthrough without the battery box you are using 5 volts on the PT and 3.7 with the battery.
  6. With the Ego PT you are just charging the battery and vaping off the battery. With the 510 PT without the battery box you are vaping off the USB power. The atty/carto draws more amps than some power supplies can supply, you need 1,000 mAh or 1 amp for the PT without battery and the Ego and PT with battery will work on less mAh.
  7. Could be flooded ,I have never used an Ego atty but sometimes on 510's liquid gets built up between the pot the element is in and the battery connector and shorts it out, should be able to blow that out.Could also be the element is gunked up ,some liquids will cake up on the element and won't let it get the liquid hot enough to vaporise.Cleaning might help.5 weeks is not a real bad lifespan I have ruined some in a day with some domestic liquids I have tried in the past.
  8. Stay away from Bauway stuff.Joye 510 or 306's are very good and DSE 901's are also good.SLB is DSE.
  9. I get mine from Electronicstix, very good price and shipping .VaporTalk has good ones for good price and shipping.LiteCigUSA also has the Joye brand and if you are not in a hurry they have a cheaper shipping option, takes two days longer for me.
  10. Seems like three drops for a 510 and two for a 901,some liquids seem to use up the flavor before all the liquid is gone and you end up putting in more to get some flavor until it is flooded.
  11. Some people clean them by soaking in hot water or boiling. The paper cover might come off but if it is useless as is you really can't hurt it.Blow it out when cool enough and let dry for a few days.I use hot water from my coffeee maker for cleaning atties.I use Joye 306 atties for testing liquids as they seem to switch flavors pretty good and are easily cleaned.
  12. Batteries for mods cost like $5.00 a peice ,I don't mind carrying a few spares and a bottle of liquid with me .I would rather keep it simple and cost effective.
  13. I would say the least amount you can get by on.
  14. Kind of like the Tootsie Pop question,no one knows for sure.A lot of variables at play ,resistance, voltage, battery condition, technique, liquid ,attie/carto age and condition, and quality control at the factory.
  15. I just want to conduct a Test all you have to do is copy / paste and fill in the blanks: 1) How Long on average does your atomizer/cardomizer last?Atomisers last me three to four months with frequent cleaning ,carto's three or four days .2) Exact type of atomizer/cardomizer? (be as precise as possible: include model, make or ulr please.)Boge 510 carto's and Joye 306 and 510, DSE 901 atties 3) The main Exact Brand and mix of Juice? (example: 70vg, 30pg totally wicked tobacco flavor)Dekang CML and USA Red PG 4) What Type of maintenance do you conduct on you atomizer/cardomizer? (example: dunk in vodka solution 1 time per week and burn out nightly)I use denture tabs and several rinses with hot water from my coffee maker for my atties ,the trash can for a carto that isn't delivering the goods 5) Anything else you might want to add? I have been able to get good vapor from all the Joye,Janty and DSE products I have used so far.
  16. It really does not make a lot of difference to most of us ,the trick is finding flavors you like.I would go with a 50-50 mix as VG is kinda thick and does not soak into the filler very easy.
  17. I don't think I would start if I were you .Best to not tempt fate.I spend around $30.00 a week for parts and liquid.I vape a lot .I use no or low nic and have found some very good Dekang flavors I like and look forward to ,this things like a pacifier to me.
  18. Thats not funny ,its a nightmare coming to life.
  19. I think about it from time to time ,my son and his girlfreind both smoke and it smells kind of good .But I am weak as water and so I don't tempt fate. There is 20 in a pack ,you can't buy one.Been almost two years now.Funny burning tobacco smells good to me but the smell of stale smoke is pretty nasty.
  20. I tried 14650 and 18650 mods and setteled on 14500 as the proper size .The bigger ones seem to hit the floor more often.
  21. I don't think it makes much difference unless you are using high voltage or low resistance then you might melt the cart end quicker.
  22. My 306 drip tip is too short and gets hot,so I use the cover and I just don't push it on all the way so it is easier to get off for dripping.
  23. yup, when I first started vaping I could not taste most liquids ,so I boosted the flavor with thier flavoring.
  24. What ever it is it condenses on the inside of my van windows in the winter time and needs to be cleaned off pretty regularly .It also would be less harmful to second hand vapers I would assume.
  25. Sweet see you on the other side.
