PUBLIC APOLOGY: I apologize to any and everyone that I have offended in chat, or in any other way. Occasionally, my temper outweighs common sense. I’m not trying to make any excuses – I’m apologizing for behaving like a childish fool. It won’t happen again. Sincerely, Steve Leigh

Hi, Batteries are rated in two ways: voltage and amperage. Trying to make this simple, consider 2 batteries: one for a small motorcycle or a lawn tractor, and a HUGE battery for marine usage, such as a trolling motor in a bass boat. Voltage (unimportant here, but typically 12 vdc) would be the same. But the capacity of the battery charge (referred to as milli-amp-hours or mah) would be TREMENDOUS when you compare the trolling motor battery (used 12-18 hours continuously) to the smaller motorcycle battery (used only to START the motor before charging begins). The motorcycle battery WILL run the trolling motor - but only for minutes, NOT for hours. Another way to interpret this technical detail might be this: an ice chest. A smaller, more portable ice chest might hold 12 bottles of beer, plus some ice. A HUGE ice chest might hold 12 *CASES* of beer, plus ice. "Capacity" is the bottom line here. I have my own experience to share: I have a portable telephone. It recharges its batteries whenever it's in the cradle (or base unit). The battery pack which came with the phone was a low rating ..... probably 600 mah. This allowed about 45 minutes of use for the phone. Then the battery pack "died". I went to Batteries Plus (a local battery store) and asked them to BUILD new battery packs for me - using the HIGHEST mah rated batteries available - which happened to be 1800 mah. Result: it takes about 3x as long to completely recharge a totally empty battery pack - AND - once fully recharged, the batteries last for about a WEEK. I hope this make sense. I really tried! LOL Steve

Hi, Has anyone experienced this? A few of my new 501 carts seem to be "loose". It's possible they are a few thousandths of an inch undersize, but they actually come out in my mouth, as I draw. They also leak a very small amount of liquid when I lay them down flat on my desk. This situation happens with both attys, and I'm at a loss. I've got some spares on order, and hope they have a much tighter fit in the attys, as this little issue isn't too pleasant. Opinions? Thank you, Steve

Hi, Seems like so many are VERY, VERY lucky people as ex-smokers! I was at 3 packs every day - sometimes a little more. Unfortunately, I'm disabled, housebound, and have nothing much to do EXCEPT work at the computer and .... smoke. I can't even remember when I smoked just 1 pack a day - probably when I was 12, and had to keep my parents from catching me and beating me half to death. They both smoked like chimneys. (If my memory is correct, filtered cigarettes hadn't even been invented yet - my parents smoked Chesterfields and Pall Mall - NO filters.) I'd guess (that's about all I can do) that I'm a very heavy vaper. If I could possibly calculate it, I've used over 20ml of liquid in 31 days - but don't know how to convert that to an approximate number of (barf) tobacco cigarettes. Today, I received enough parts to have NINE (9) DSE 810s going at one time! AND, I also received a Joye 510 with some spare parts. Something tells me I might be in this for the "Long Run" .... (thank you, Eagles). Steve (site link removed by admin)

I've used ultrasonic cleaners in the past, and have a small one. The interesting thing about water (don't laugh at me) is that it isn't "wet". Usually, a few drops of soap (or possibly Simple Green cleanser) tend to "wet" water and take away the trapped bubbles. In other words, it tends to make the water "slippery" .... if that made any sense! When I tattooed, I had a large Branson (big bux), and a bottle of additive. Water alone barely cleaned the tattoo guns, but a few cc's of additive, and you could see the colors actually explode off the needles and tubes. There is a lot of important info on the web about using US cleaners. Yesterday, I tried my little US cleaner. I put in 3 drops of dishwashing liquid, then a large cup of scalding hot water, and cleaned some small items: my wedding band, some keys, a pair of hemostats - just a little experimental test to see how it performs. Results were mediocre - this little unit doesn't have anywhere near half the power of my old Branson, but it still DID do some cleaning. I'm going to continue to experiment (but not with atomizers) and find the correct "wetting" agent. Steve (24 days - I love it!)

Hi Chris, What, if anything, do you use in the US cleaner besides water? Thanks, Steve

Hi Everyone, I have an idea – maybe a little crazy – for cleaning atomizers. Has anyone ever tried an ultrasonic cleaner? For those that aren’t familiar, it’s a tank with liquid (typically water, many different types of additives are available) which uses sound waves to “agitate” the liquid in the tank. For example, most tattoo shops use one to clean the needles and tubes on tattoo machines, jewelry stores use them to clean jewelry, and there are very small ones which are used to clean dentures or other small items. The small ones are very inexpensive, and only have a small tank. The larger ones cost a lot of $$. http://www.jewelsmall.com/diulclcdasij.html Ideas? Hi, Me, too. My (nearly full) pack of Winston 100s is only inches away, and I've thought about smoking "just one", to see if the taste was still "good". But I've been "clean" since November 6, (17 DAYS!!!) and I'm not ready to touch a tobacco cigarette. Side note: this week, I'll work on the javascript on my "smoke" page, and try to get it to reflect the exact $ amount not spent on cigarettes. Steve www.sl-prokeys.com/smoke/smoke.htm
