  1. heh! Yeah! I dig it, nothing like it before. I am converted.
  2. I know, just messin with you because -- I want to. Told you, I'm really bad! But how in the world could anyone not from there ever have known anything about Liberal? That is absolutely the armpit of the universe. Edit: And I know what it's like to work at being invisible. All my clothes are earth tones; camouflage.
  3. Okay, cool man, yeah I remember that. Looks like I have a couple days left to get a picture too. I wonder if snow and vaping go together? Snow's about all you can see around here lately. Seriously, I'll give it some thought. That might be fun no matter what. Thanks for the heads up!
  4. Cripes nana, even I've heard of Broken Bow! Want to play never-heard-of-my-town? I grew up in - well, graduated from high school in - Liberal, KS. Enough said! wpw, I've forgotten what atty you're using but if you can remove the cart I think you can direct drip. Just pull it off, drip a couple-three drops right on the little screen inside, put the cart back on (that isn't actually necessary but it's generally more comfortable than the 'tail pipe'), and vape away. You'll be glad you did. You should get maybe four or five good drags off that before you need to drip again. Hope that helps.
  5. Who's Jeri? Now, about that Great Midwest Vape In. Don't give me that 'asocial' line; I've heard that about a million times and there is no person on this earth who's less willing to meet other people than I am. So, that makes you a relative extrovert. Think about that, and you'll realize there is no way you couldn't go if such a thing were to occur... As far as people seeing me -- I'm one of those gray middle aged guys they invented Rol Ban for. I'm invisible to all the cute young chicks and the women my age look at me and think, "Meh, too much fast food." Grown people know too much. But because I'm so introverted, I love me! And I don't much care what anyone else thinks. Except, what I can learn from them. Talk about boring. People at work come in on Monday and start reviewing sports scores and sitcom plots, and I say something about cave art, and -- blink! -- I'm invisible. (Perhaps we could debate who's the most boring.) That's okay though, if no one interrupts my fantastic and satisfactory internal dialog, I'm happy. I hate when people talk to me when I'm trying to read. Fortunately, I'm mostly invisible so that only happens at home. Hm. Sounds like the Great Vape In might be a very quiet occasion! But seriously, like fatalis I'd really like to gather some vapers together. No, I'm not a social person! -- but I do like those unique folks that I have something in common with. I don't care what they look like or what they talk about - cripes, I used to go to science fiction conventions! I just know that when like-minded folks get together, good things happen. The discomfort passes, usually sooner than I think it will. Or if not, well, I can go back to my room. And now, vape out!
  6. Man I know that one... But I did finally burn through them all.
  7. Y'all are so freakin cool! Thanks so much for all the great help. Yeah, I've been sitting around for a couple of weeks tapping my feet waiting for DIY Flavor Shack to open the heck back up! I'm also interested in the Flavour Art stuff, which I'm definitely going to check out. Soon as I get email caught up I'm going to check out eBay to see what kind of cool lab stuff looks like it would work for small mixing. Who knows what could happen in the next few weeks... heh John, I can't wait to try that Clove recipe!!! Makes my mouth water just reading it... Thanks again, and don't anyone be shy about adding to this great bunch of info!
  8. Sorry Mark, I missed that - contest? Help me! I'm attention disabled or something...
  9. You guys just freak me out with your low nic levels. I wonder if I'll ever feel like I want to cut it back, much less be able to. I dunno. I feel so out of place sometimes. Sheesh. But Hey! It's a diverse world. Right?
  10. Yeah, I'm in love with it nana. As for the nic; well, the 48mg doesn't give me as much as my analogs did but I have found that I vape less with this. Perhaps I can cut back to 36 and just for grins will give that a try this weekend. Who knows? Maybe it'll open up a bunch more suppliers for me. One can hope, eh? Oh, but wait! -- Since I'm going to be DIY some day soon, maybe I'll UP the nic! Yeah, that's the ticket! Naw, just freakin you out. I couldn't help myself. I'm bad; everybody knows it.
  11. Just in terms of battery mods, there are tons of them - enough to drive you batty trying to pick one. Here are a couple I have off the top of my head, but believe me, there's just a boat load of em. 3.7V VP2 setup for 510 Protege GG Slim Screwdriver 5V+ Chuck Silver Bullet There are many, many more but I just got tired of seeing so much stuff I wanted. There are always adaptors for your preferred atty too, so don't let that put you off anything. If I may make yet another suggestion, I've just had my first 5V experience and I don't think I'll ever be fully satisfied with anything less again. 3.7V will still work and that's what I have for walking around, but I'm now on a mission: 5V+ mod. That's just all there is to it. But my wife says it's her turn for some new stuff, so that's on hold for a while now. Sigh.
  12. Good choice and congratulations on so many people taking up vaping at the same time! That's just exceptional, I wish I could shake all your hands. You all are my heros for today. I'd like to say, don't discount the frooty (see Jeff?! I can spell too! ) flavors right off. I understand your feelings completely because I tried about every "tobacco" flavor there was before I realized ... Hey! I can get my nic fix and have it taste good too! You can find juice in about any flavor you can name, and they're all as effective as your nasty old analogs were at giving you your nicotine. After all that time breathing weeds, think how nice it would be to have something sweet to inhale. Personally, I've been on a Mango kick lately and I really like it. But there's just all kinds of stuff to try, and I heartily recommend it. Just my .02. Have fun, and congratulations! Now the waiting begins...
  13. Waiting for the budget facet of this to kick in, I'm just wondering what kind of ancilary stuff I need when I start mixing. For example, I know I'm going to want to experiment at small batches so plan to buy a bunch of 3 ml bottles. But I got to wondering... What kind of measuring stuff do you use? I haven't looked yet, do they make lab equip that's graduated in mls and is that desireable? How many drops per ml?Do you keep really specific records? How do you label stuff? I'm sure I'll think of much more before too long but those are the few questions that have been rolling around in my head this morning (as opposed to work, I guess). Are there sources that carry everything you'd need to get it going? I mean everything from 100mg juice to vape-specific flavoring, and bottles and pipettes and all the cool lab stuff? Probably not, but one could hope. Thanks for any ideas.
  14. Yeah, I've been sitting at my desk creating huge clouds of sweet vapor all morning and just loving it. Ahhh... GDub, that looks like a really nice USP port. I did get the one VT store sells and while it's not as fancy as that, it sure works nice. I really think I need a PT just for my car too.
  15. +1 on the pics! I'm quite interested in your final impression as I do like what I know about the Silver Bullet. It's in my 6V lineup for 'some day.' I wonder about the paint job too; is it paint or powder coated? If powder coat, it might hold up despite the flaws.
  16. This is not a review as I'm just too new at this to think I have the chops to do an actual review of anything, and this wonderful device has been reviewed out the wazoo already. But I'm so pleased I just wanted to offer my first impression. Physicality Is that a word? I think so. The VP PT is, quite simply, beautiful. With an 801 on it, it's long and slender and seriously classy. The light show is stupendous, and the ring of dots at the atty end was a pleasant surprise. The LED lights up my entire hand when I hit the switch, which invariably makes me grin; the blue glow reminds me of those years lying on the couch in an alternate state, staring at blacklight posters. Maybe it'll become commonplace, but for now the beautiful light is reason enough to hit the thing, regardless the huge clouds of vapor it produces. The cable is the perfect length, which is no small feat. It's just right to reach my chair from the plug on the floor, and can reach all over the car if my wife wants to share it. I can sit as far back from my computer as I like, and still vape comfortably. Yet it's not so long I trip over it. Nicely done. Vapor Production Wow! Voltage rules, there's no doubt about it. I put a spankin-new atty on this thing when I first cranked it up (I thought it deserved that) and this baby had that atty broken in in no time flat. I got huge vapor off the first hits, and fantastic throat hit. And by the time I had that atty cooking the flavor bloomed, matching the massive vapor. Nirvana! Voltage definitely matters; I can tell a distinct difference between the 5V from the wall or car adaptors vs the ~4V from my USB port. But not complaining! Even at USB levels, this baby kicks out the flavorful steam. It's a dream come true. What Would I Change? Not much, really. The only thing I haven't yet fully accommodated myself to is the stiffness of the cable. Because it's hefty for longevity (do you love alliteration too?), it's a bit stiff and I have to work against it somewhat to align the button and mouthpiece in my hand. Not a big deal. The button is the same as that used on other VP units, and should last a very long time. If I could wish for anything I wanted, it might be a larger button surface. But I'm picking nits. There's no doubt that I'll be using this masterpiece for as long as I want – until something even better comes out, which I think is going to be a while. This is just too fine, so well made it will surely last as long as I want it too. All I need now is a couple more, so I don't have to transport it between home and my car and my desk at work. Maybe I could have one in every room, the way I do reading glasses. More generally, I am convinced that I'm going for a 5 or 6V battery device soon. Portability is worthwhile and I now will never be satisfied with 3.7V of vapor. I've been perfectly happy with my VP2 until now but compared to the PT, it's a complete wimp. If there's a downside to getting my VP PT, it's that it really overshadows anything less. Is that a downside? No way. (this discussion is dedicated to nana and kitsune, a pleasant cabal, truly)
  17. Great story, thanks! While I am fairly open about vaping, I haven't actually talked to my Dr about it. I think I'll see what he says next time I see him - which hopefully will be a while!
  18. If size is not a consideration, you might want to consider some of the mods for extended battery life. Just my .02. I've been using a VP2 with 801s, with great satisfaction. Good luck and keep us posted!
  19. There's still time brother! Don't miss it! I'm determined to get back again this weekend; what a beautiful and fine movie. It'll be a long time before you see anything else like it. Don't miss it! And you will want to take your e cig with you 'cause you won't want to leave your seat...
  20. I find that a little hard to believe but anyway. Sounds like Avatar might become the vaper's 'come out' movie!
  21. Thanks Brian, yet another example how valuable this forum and all you guys are for us newbies still feeling our way around a better life.
  22. Thanks Prof, I'm really looking forward to your review! I've never ordered from TW but my brother has and has been very pleased.
  23. Indeed that's true Brian, but alas they didn't get included in my order. That will be rectified soon I'm sure. Meanwhile my VP PT came yesterday and I'm absolutely blown away and psyched out of my jeans with the TH that bad boy puts out!!! Yay! Nirvanna!
  24. Great story Steve! I agree, my KR passthrough was a godsend, and if for some reason all my other stuff failed I still keep it as a fall back. It's a wonderful device. Let us here more about the other new goodies you got!
