  1. Wow, I sure didn't notice anything like that. Is it your lungs that hurt, muscles, something else? Since you're breathing okay it doesn't sound like an allergic reaction to me -- but I'm not a doctor and don't play one on TV or anything. Hopefully someone else will have actual information for you. Bummer. I hope it passes soon. Maybe you should stop vaping to see if it goes away?
  2. That stuff looks great! Can you compare their strength to, for example, Flavourart flavorings? Just curious whether I'd have to use a lot of the extract to get sufficient flavor for my deadened taste buds to recognize. Thanks.
  3. Rats. I tried to attach a spreadsheet juice calculator here but couldn't get it done. I haven't used it much yet but it seems like it could be very helpful, particularly if you're using high nic liquid as a base. I don't remember where I got it or who to give proper attribution to for inventing it, but I thank them, whoever it might be! Since I can't attach it here, if anyone wants a copy I'll be happy to email it to them. Just PM me with the address to send it to and I'll get it off.
  4. Hey man, no biggie! I haven't read all the comments so I'll probably repeat something others have said, but I'm sure that most of us have had our ups and downs. Nice thing about vaping, you can always pick right back up. No worries. And the upside is the reminder how freakin awful analogs are... I speak from experience, brother: Ugh. (I think that's a word.)
  5. I'm excited for you too dude! Just a few more hours (sort of) and you'll be in vaping heaven. WooHoo!
  6. Vacker that is cool beyond mere words! You rule. If I hadn't already selected my hero for today, you'd be it. That's just wonderful, Congratulations! That truly is inspirational.
  7. I wouldn't hold out much hope that the life insurance companies would see vaping as any different than smoking, regardless anyone's studies - at least for the next 20 years or so, until it's clear that nicotine itself has no adverse effects and that the components of e cig liquid don't either. I guess my course of action in this regard is to, whenever the subject of life ins comes up with my agent, which it does regularly, to tell him I don't smoke but that I vape, and see what he says about that. I don't buy private life ins because of the cost; fortunately I get it at work and in retirement so basic requirements are covered.
  8. Thanks man, that was a very good reply. I saw that kuya dave stepped up too. Way to go guys. One of the posters was wholly unfamiliar with smoking (!) but even s/he recognized the value of vaping. All is not lost. Don't let the naysayers get you down; just be a good advocate when you have the opportunity, and continue saving your life. It's a good thing; I'm living proof.
  9. Can't wait to give it a go! Oh wait - yes I can; "waiting" is central to the vaping experience, isn't it? In fact that sounds like a whole topic of its own, "waiting." Well, not me. I put some snipes on a couple small graduated cylinders on eBay, that's about as far as I've gotten so far. I'm going to start making a shopping list just to give myself something to do until the budget kicks in again. Thanks for all the help! I'm particularly psyched about the Clove recipe... Hey - anyone else have their own favored recipes that they'd like to share?
  10. Well now you know where to send her to get her informed! I wonder what her brother was selling, and why he's not now. Sounds like an opportunity to me. I've sure thought about finding a bunch of decent kits to have on hand. Problem is, finding something that will really work reliably for someone that's not so expensive they'd just walk away without giving it a chance. I think that's why so many people who try the kiosk crap don't succeed; the kiosk e-cigs don't work. But they're cheap enough to get people to try them. I'm afraid it gives vaping a flaky rep. Sorry, this has been on my mind for a while...
  11. I get that a lot. But trust me - I used to get as much nic in one analog as light-analog smokers get in a whole day. It's inconceivable to me how anyone could smoke light cigarettes and think they were getting any nicotine... Once in a while I'd have to bum a Marlboro red off someone and it was so freakin weak I may as well not even have smoked it. I'd have to smoke five or six of them to get any kind of comfort, and that's so much smoke it'd make me feel awful. 48mg feels about like those reds did to me, but at least I don't have to suffer through the smoke to get my nic fix. Sometimes I wonder what strength of liquid I'd have to vape to equal the analogs I was smoking. I don't think there is such a thing.
  12. Thanks, I'll probably try lemon at some point pretty soon. I'm glad you're enjoying your research!
  13. Actually Uma, this is a perfect place for it, 'cause here I am wishing I had a 6V batt to carry around. Like you though, I think what I really want is the GG. I may end up with a Joker though, just because it's a bit more affordable, and I want 6V now! I noticed that the GG is out of stock everywhere; that;s one of those things you either preorder or don't get I think. Everything's a freakin wait!
  14. I'm really glad you've followed up Uma! You'll be glad too.
  15. I noticed that too - way to go FTJoe! Whoever the author of that article is, is just an idiot. There are a lot of those out there! Too bad, really.
  16. Yeah, I got a couple VT cards with my order and am carrying them around with me now too.
  17. I'm looking forward to that too Brian. The responses here don't give a clear answer, do they? Edit: What I meant to say is, it really must be a personal preference! And the only way to know is to try them both...
  18. Absolutely! You will be in hog freakin heaven my man. In fact, time for another!
  19. That's a fantastic project Dajamster! You might also think how you can give them something to take with them, like a business card sized card with a couple helpful links on it - vaportalk.com for example. I made a CD with a bunch of info on it but it's kind of overwhelming - I think a simple message and link would be more effective. Go man!
  20. Yeah Brian, I've used the VP2 since and it works okay though in comparison it's seriously wimpy. Even so, it gets the job done and most importantly, it's portable! Man I get tired of unplugging the PT whenever I change rooms. About the only time I'm using the VP2 is when I'm in the grocery store or something. I'm sure glad I have it. 5/6V mod is definitely in my future. The VP2 will be the first entry in my vaping museum Hall of Fame. But not for a few months yet. I'm really happy with the way things have progressed. That's all thanks to you folks here in VT.
  21. Sigh. VT juice is about the best reason I can think of for cutting back the nic. I feel so left out! Another tasty tobacco flavor is 555; kind of a nutty flavor on top. I really like it when I'm looking for that tobacco hit. It was the first flavor I stocked up.
  22. Okay man - don't make me spank you! No way California can be actually cold! But since it's all relative, I hope the furnace guy made you comfortable again, and quickly. My wife is cold if it's below 80 in here, which can be kinda expensive since our house is 90 years old and it's been hovering around zero all week. Well, until the 30+ heat wave started. wpw, what other flavors came in your trial pack? Just curious about something new; I've been vaping the same few flavors the last couple weeks, thinking what else might be interesting. Not Pepsi though; tried that and don't like it anymore than real Pepsi. Do they make Milk juice?
  23. Yikes! Topeka is only marginally better than Liberal or possibly Broken Bow... I've been thinking about trying some lemon. Not sure that was a positive review though! Is it something you'd vape again?
  24. Oh man, I can't imagine a more serious bummer! You sent it back for repair?
