Weirdest Place You've Vaped

Standing in line to check out at the grocery store with the off-duty cop/store guard watching benevolently over all. I really thought he would haul me out of line! -
Poll The First - Your Analog Type
ddavelarsen replied to ddavelarsen's topic in Polls and Questionnaires
Thanks folks, this is good stuff. It does seem on limited evidence so far that most vapers smoked lights or ultra lights. One reason this is of interest to me is that once the FDA starts regulating this stuff they're going to establish a maximum nic level; and that's likely to be 24mg based on what the market looks like today. What that means is that all those heavy smokers out there like me will find vaping totally worthless, just like gum and patches are. At 24mg, vaping will not help a heavy smoker. That's really too bad, but my experience with vapers has been absolute panic at the thought of using 48mg juice... Cripes, it's barely enough for me. I'm hanging on my the skin of my teeth most days. But that's just me. I'm really pleased that so many former smokers are taking the healthier path. I hope a lot more people add data to this. I noticed that there are so far no "full flavor" former smokers out there. That's interesting. Keep it coming! And thanks for the comments. -
Hi PhillyPhil, since I haven't said so before, Welcome! Like nana said, the DIY juice forum is a trove of good info and experience. You'll find yourself wanting to try all kinds of new stuff. Now you have 5 posts you'll be able to post there as well, so have fun.

I have a theory that the most successful vapers were Lights or Ultra Lights smokers; that heavier smoke is harder to replace with vaping. As most of you know I was a non-filter smoker and vape high nic juice. I wonder whether the relatively low (to me) nic levels commonly found in juice are suitable because most people didn't get a great deal of nicotine from smoking. This poll is intended to test that theory. Do you have a hypothesis along this line? I'm curious to hear it. Thanks for your input. Vape on!

Here are a couple more Movie-List Forum beware, this one forced popups... jerks Cinema Threads this one looks kind of interesting Movies Discussion Forum There seems to be quite a selection of places to look; I just stopped because it's time to go get some breakfast at the cafeteria downstairs (cheap). Schizo, let us know if you learn what that movie is called, I'd really like to track it down.
-
This was just the first hit, there have to be others. I like the colors here though. Movie Vault Forums

Going to have to track down Beyond Schizo, that sounds like my kind of movie. Thanks for the recommendation. I've really been looking forward to seeing Surrogates. We missed that in the theater. I don't think it's hit On Demand yet, and we have quit renting videos because we never freakin take them back on time. They gather dust until it threatens to bankrupt us when we get back to the store. We get way too distracted sometimes. So I'll be watching for that one too. Thanks man!

I hate to say it, but mine's going back today too, same issue. I'm told that it's a bad transistor, which supports my initial thought that Jeso was unfortunate enough to recieve a batch of faulty components. I sincerely hope that he's thrown that bunch away and is using a different source for the repairs -- though DAYVAPE's experience suggests not. What really makes me feel bad is that based on my raving my brother ordered a VP PT Monday - before mine went bad yesterday and I learned so many others are having the same issue. I know there have been problems with the Spade too, which is when I began thinking there was a component issue. I'm convinced this won't go away until the current stock of parts is turned over. I hope that's been taken care of. Anyway, back to my VP2, which, thankfully, is working just fine. I like the 510s on it too.

Ah man, Shawshank Redemption, Private Ryan ... You all got it nailed. It was when I read Shawshank Redemption that i decided Stephen King isn't a hack after all... I'm about 50/50 on his stuff so far, but always dig Dean Koonz. Anyway, back to movies. I'm glad for the recommendations for 9. I've been skipping over that even though I'm a(n) SF fan. So I'll give it a shot. Can't wait until Zombieland comes on demand! Wanted to see that in the theater but getting my wife out of the house is like pushing a rope, and she won't let me go anywhere either. That sounds bad. But yes, I'm a wimp. Anyway, I have a gigantic collection of zombie movies - all the classics and a bunch no one ever heard of. I have a boatload of B horror and westerns too; I just love that stuff. Yesterday I bought a $5 DVD that has four horror movies on it, thinking they were gonna be nicely cheesy with crappy production values and I'd dig em. Well, I watched one - Bloody Mary - and it's cheesy all right, but great production values and a bunch of semi-naked women. What's not to like? I hope the others are as good. Got my five bucks worth already though.

Man I'm sorry but that does not sound familiar. You made me want to find it though. There has to be a site where you can get answers on stuff like this - a movie buff forum maybe? I've never looked but now you got me thinking...

A Darkened Room, My Sleek Black Passthrough...
ddavelarsen replied to Phaseman66's topic in New Vapers Forum
Don't know of such a thing, but that's an interesting idea. You might propose it in the mod forum too. Meanwhile, I'll think about that. I don't know offhand how well fiber would hold up against the heat in an atty but I don't think it gets so hot it should be a problem. A bigger issue might be sealing it. I like the idea though, because I know exactly where you're coming from... -
By now you know how my memory works: not. So it takes me a while to remember all those questions I want to ask, and then actually ask them when I'm in the forum. So here's one. I've heard people say that some juice works better at various voltages. I haven't kept any records so am at a loss right off the bat here, as I think about buying juice with 5 or 6V in mind. The VP PT has convinced me I like higher voltage and will be getting a high-V mod here as soon as it's feasible. So, does anyone know why some juice performs better at higher voltage? I don't know whether it's the brand of base or flavoring, or what it might be. But I think it makes sense to try to nail that down. Does PG or VG make a difference? If so, what's the ideal mix? In other words, what are the specific formulaic differences between those that work well at 3.7 vs 5V? Second, what recommendations do you folks have for high-V juice? I'm willing to step down to 36mg if necessary. But I'm also planning to DIY some juice soon, so if I can learn what components help the liquid perform better at 5V, I will try to incorporate that into my ordering. Any ideas welcome! Thanks, and vape on.

Amen. Our Constitution doesn't grant rights - it merely clarifies inalienable rights every human is born with. Thanks Schizo, that made me feel good. Cripes, I might be able to go ten hours without nicotine -- if I went somewhere really private... I'm honestly jealous of folks who don't have that kind of addiction to nicotine. I don't know what it is, but that stuff has some serious hooks into me. Maybe because it's the only 'bad' habit I have left? And I love my bad?
-
Well, you're gonna be awfully busy man! Better start putting in for some time off, 'cause your new vocation is going to be quite demanding.
-
You are so bad! Always coming up with more stuff I want... Actually, I've wondered about that, thought there must be such a thing. Thanks for the heads up. Oh crimeny... Key Lime... Is there no freakin end to it?!
-
Here you go bro: Dr Baron This is obviously at the behest of one of the big manufacturers, but he does have his tinfoil hat off at least. Teri you crack me up! Colors are good! Thanks for the attitude realignment! !

Should have added this to one of those replies. Brian, how hard was it to solder inside that atty connector? That's the one thing that makes me hesitate so far. Any trouble getting the solder to stick, or having one wire come undone while you're heating for the next one?
-
That's like asking to buy his firstborn. But I have warned him to gear up for production. I think we all need to see its vapor production -- but I think Brian is shy. Who'd have thought?
-
+1 on that one Mr Jeffrey! C'mon Bri, lessee a video! YahHOO!
-
Ah, there's (almost) always a solution! How gratifying is that? Now you'll start racking up money not spent on analogs, but probably spent on cool vaping stuff.

Assault On The Us Constitution
ddavelarsen replied to ddavelarsen's topic in The Vape Lounge - Off Topic Chat
I do love stirring the pot. But knowing this bunch, I thought it a safe bet. You all make me proud. Please do be sure to write your congress critters. My understanding is that H Clinton is poised to sign the UN Small Arms Treaty as we speak. It could be over already. That is really quite scary. It's our Constitution they're messing with! Congress have sworn to uphold it, but at every turn they denigrate it, step around it, step on it. "Vote Incumbents Out," that's my motto and my rule. Just doing that every election is about as close as we can come to locking them up and tossing the key. Which sounds a whole lot more just than simply throwing them out on the street. Okay, I'm going back to bed. I will sleep comfortably now, bless you. -
If I knew how to embed YouTube video here I'd do that because I figure more people might watch it than following a link, but I'm not that good of a web user. Sorry. This is an important subject for me, but if you don't believe in the 2nd Amendment or believe Americans should not own firearms, this is not for you. Personally, I respectfully disagree with such sentiments in the most vigorous manner. Thank you for your time. Dave

Man that's funny - I kept thinking of stuff I wanted to go back and say too. What a jerk. I think MD's idea to post links to actual info is great! Maybe post a link to Dr Darom's video...
-
I dunno; there was a cost per pack field that I filled in. Do you remember seeing that? You could just delete that one and try another. You sure want the feedback on how much you haven't spent on analogs!

Haven't tried TW stuff but I guarantee manual batts are more satisfying than autos. Yes, you hold the button down while vaping, which continues to heat the element while you draw. But it is a very natural thing; I took to manual batts much better than autos, personally. Good luck! You'll dig the 510. Also, someone else will probably mention this too but auto batts can have problems with juice leaking into them. Manual batts are sealed so you avoid that potential pitfall.
