  1. LOL! (Literally) It's a good thing you have an apt sense of humor buddy, or you really would be beating your head against the wall! Cool to hear how Mark has treated you, he's on my list for upcoming orders. I'm interested in hearing how the 905 goes for you too. Can't have too much information...
  2. My wife just refers to all vaping items as "that stuff." I asked her to watch out all the little travel bottles of juice I've left laying all over the place, and she told me she always just puts the cap on and sticks them back in the refrigerator! Thinking of gatorade of course. She's a little slow to catch on that vaping is meaningful. As to naming your PT... Maybe you should start a poll and let us vote on it! FTJoe already summarized all the suggestions. I kinda like "Firefly" myself - totally fitting and one of my favorite short-lived TV series of all time, too!
  3. Oh yeah man, I have Oldboy and a whole bunch of other Japanese harshness. Takashi Miike is not for everyone, but he has a rather special take on ... personal relationships. That's a good recommendation Roor!
  4. That is just righteous, dude! Your boss is one of the good guys too, that's awesome. As for the rest of you -- eek! Y'all are keeping the faith in a maximum way, and I'm sure glad I didn't read all that while I was awake! No telling what I'd have thought was clever. This early in the morning about all I can do is scratch my bed hair, which is really rather fortunate for all of us. ColoKrissy, you and your brother rule. Vaping openly like your're not doing anything wrong is absolutely the way to live. My hat's off to you both!
  5. You get a Gold Star for a conversion! Way to go Vari!
  6. I've probably missed it some place, but what PV are you using? Thanks!
  7. I've been thinking along these lines myself Angel and have kind of settled on either the Chuck or Silver Bullet, but Prof's recommendation of the Super Six sounds good too. These are all units that have been around a while and had their bugs worked out. I like the big buttons on the Bullet and Super Six, and they're both nice and shiny. Chuck comes in all kinds of colors or custom paint jobs. It can switch between 3.7 and 6V, which might come in handy some day, particularly depending how a particular juice behaves (some people have said they've experienced better flavor/vapor at various voltages with some juice, but getting actual data on that is ... difficult). Price? Well, like Chris said you get what you pay for. If the unit you buy does end up lasting years, it'll be cheap overall. That's what I want to, a PV that I can vape year after year. I don't feel the need (normally) to have the latest and greatest of anyting; I'd much rather have the best of something and just keep it... That's how I feel about my VP2 - it's going to be with me for a very long time. That is money well spent. Good luck, and keep us posted what you decide on! I'm excited for you. Wish it were me!
  8. Thanks for your input BigXor! I'm curious how much nic you started with, and what you're vaping today? Also, do you think the PV you're using makes a difference? For example, if a 510 gives more vapor and TH than something else, would the additional impact help even in the face of less nicotine? I really welcome all the info I can gather here, and greatly appreciate your thoughts. I noticed that this thread is getting a lot more views than responses. So many views in fact that I wonder if outside search traffic is being directed here? Just curious what anyone else thinks.
  9. Yeah man, we've all been subject to that "If it looks like smoke, it's smoke" reaction. It's gotta be half what drives the anti-smoking dips to diss vaping to vehemently. No one ever said people were sensible! Many vapers feel like they're doing something wrong by vaping where they aren't supposed to smoke but I'm fortunate not to feel that way. Vaping isn't smoking, and is harmless (as far as we know) for everyone. I never feel like I need to hide my vaping, though I don't flaunt it either. Your mother hasn't noticed, because vaping is truly benign. For what it's worth, you have my blessing.
  10. Vari, it's deeply cool that you weren't tempted to smoke when surrounded by all those users! That really shows how valuable vaping is for those of us who wish never to smoke again. I daresay that had you been on gum or some other nic replacement you would not have felt so comfortable. This is great news for us all. I too have noticed that being around smokers is not a temptation, and I really have come to despise the smell! LOL. Ever gotten on an elevator with someone who just came in from smoking! Yikes! I'm so embarrased that I used to subject people to that. They were so gracious not to complain. My own biggest danger is in wanting the simplicity of firing up an analog, or just wanting a good, solid hit of nicotine. Mostly I've been able to vape successfully through that though. It's wonderful to sit at my desk all day (now that I've gotten used to it) and not have to stop working at a critical time to satisfy my nic need. Or face the weather for it! I hope you were able to get the analog smell out of your stuff easily. Thanks for an uplifting post.
  11. Not much I can add to all this except my sympathy. Unfortunately I don't think there's anything more you can do; once the boss says NO, no stays said. He can't withdraw that directive without messing up his authority. But that little snipe upstairs can't hide at work all the time... Perhaps he needs a little social conditioning lesson. Can you say B-L-A-N-K-E-T--P-A-R-T-Y? I really, actively dislike people like that. Hang in there brother, and just go vape with the smokers. And watch for that little pri#k to find himself alone in the dark sometime... Oh - just to answer your question - second-hand vapor is inconsequential. There is NO WAY he could have had any exposure to nicotine. People sitting right next to you have no exposure to nicotine. I've been lucky at my employment so far. I vape pretty openly and honestly answer any questions anyone has - which have been very few. I know what the PC HR folks are like and am pretty sure when they get wind of vaping their kneejerk reaction is going to be NO! We'll see though. I have set a precedent of no issues for anyone.
  12. I'll use this double post to ask if anyone can tell me how "cc" compares to "ml"? The volume at Brian's link is given as cc (cubic centimeters?).
  13. I really prefer to store juice in glass; plastics have all kinds of stuff that can leach into your juice. So I always transfer from the 60ml bottles juice comes in to 6ml plastics I carry. Works great for me. Brian, thanks for the link!
  14. Welcome khawk! You found a great place, as you can tell from Christopher's excellent reply. He failed to mention that the VT Store's sample pack is quite popular and all I've ever heard about his juice is rave reviews for its quality. Another way of limiting your nic intake of course, is to purchase lower-nic juice. Don't know what you're vaping now but if you're at 24mg, try 18 next to see if that helps. A number of people here like to vape so much they use 0 nic in between drags with nic so they can vape all they want with no nic overdose. I have the opposite problem.
  15. Good luck cutting down, and I hope that resolves the non-sleeping issue. That would be tough for me, I like my 7 or more hours when I can get em. I wouldn't be surprised if it is the nic too. Only side effect I've ever had was really intense dreams the first time I tried the patch. That went away quickly though. I hope the 18mg does the trick for you.
  16. Awesome stuff folks, thanks for the info. I'm really amazed we have so many RYO folks; it's heartening that you can be successful vaping as that's what my son does too. He's totally uninterested in vaping though. I can see his point from a cost perspective, vaping would be more expensive than the few cents he smokes a day, but you would not like to hear his cough... Yikes! I have no cough anymore; not even a cold this winter (knocking wood).
  17. Agreed. When I am driving longer, I prefer the pyramid tea bag mod, which you will find linked various places. It's just my limited experience but I think that flows better than the poly filling that comes in most carts. That said, I also have simply washed the poly filling under warm tap water, blotted it dry on a paper towel and let it dry completely overnight. Refilling is a fairly simple task. The downside to refilling carts of course, is all the juice you rinse down the drain cleaning the filling... Good luck! Enjoy vaping, it's a wonderful way to live.
  18. I'm really curious - how much nic do you vape and what'd you start at? Thanks for voting!
  19. You know that's a good way of looking at it - would vaping become a habit if someone picked it up from scratch? If they vaped nicotine, yes. But that's not necessary. That's a great angle on this, thanks snubber.
  20. Man, sitting down with your son to build his machine sounds like a blast. That would make you Dad of the Year in about anyone's book. I'm always looking for a better way to carry my stuff around. Now that I think about it, my VP2, its atty and a bottle of juice would probably fit in a case like that just fine. I'm going to start keeping my eyes peeled. Cool!
  21. I failed to mention, jm, that you have my full sympathy. Believe me.
  22. You do this all the time - get to the point quicker than me. And you do it so subtly! I love it, thank you. Not to put too fine a distinction on it, but the FDA just says "no one knows" about vaping PG, so they want to make out like that's really bad. Rational thinkers realize this is pure spin. The real question is why the spin? There's either money in it or satisfaction of authority in it. Either way, not sufficient to risk lives that could be saved by quitting tobacco.
  23. So FTJoe, will you be my Dad? I promise to care lovingly for my MacBook Pro. You're the best, Dad! I know you know this so I'll keep it short, but you would avoid most of the malware crap by just making everyone use OS X or Linux. Not to say they wouldn't fry the hardware or spill beer in it, but at least you would avoid most of the software issues. But I know you have reasons for using windose that are rational ones, so I'll shut up. Hang in there man, I understand where you're coming from and totally empathize with your situation. It might get better.
  24. No, wait! It was in the privacy room while my boss was giving me my annual review. (I could tell it made her uncomfortable, so not doing that again.) In a couple of weeks I'm going to start working in the Law dept a couple days a week. I'm really curious how they're going to react. It's right next to HR too... heh
