Well, Welcome Char! As you can see, you found a great place. Nothing but concern for your success and answers to all your questions. I don't have much to add to what's gone before except to mention that vaping isn't much like smoking. What I mean is, when you were smoking an analog you smoked the whole thing down to the end and that was it for an hour or so. Vaping is quite different - for me at least. I tend to vape a couple hits, then set it down and vape a bit more a while later. It's more an ongoing process rather than one punctuated with discrete events. I don't know if that makes sense, but I think it's why it's hard to say what's equivalent to a cigarette. That cigarette equivalency also has many variables - what analogs you smoked, what strength nic you're using, which device you're on etc. I've never been able to make that connection and believe me - I've tried. The best I can say is that I vape about 15 ml a week and smoked a bit more than a carton a week. To show how difficult this is, 15 ml is about 300 drops and a carton is 200 analogs. That would suggest 1.5 drops for me is equivalent to one analog. I know that's not true! It's been said (but I don't think anyone really knows) that the uptake of nicotine from vapor isn't as efficient as from smoke. That calculation suggests that the opposite is true; that vapor is far more efficient than smoke in delivering nicotine. Probably though, it's just that I use a really high nic level. If I used a more common strength I'd be vaping more like 30 or 40 ml, and that would suggest 3 or 4 drops per analog. See where I'm going with this? Depends what you're using vs what you smoked. Okay, so forgetting all that, I spent about $90 a week on analogs, and I spend about $10 on juice. Of course there are other expenses to vaping (especially up front) but you can see vaping is quite inexpensive compared to smoking. Until the govt figures out how to tax juice anyway... How's that for a Welcome! Sorry, I took the day off work and just feeling good about it. The sun is shining, my dog is sleeping next to me - the world is shining. Gets me going.

Don't worry Vacker, we love you. I'd say though, that I am indeed the dishwasher-loading cop in this house. For all the good it does me. I'll never understand why our women think we can't clean or do laundry properly. I guess my Mom didn't raise them, or they'd sure know better!

Enough said! I'll just look the other way for a while.

Very intriguing Brian. Why don't you send me some 510 carts so I can give it a whirl? JK! I'm sure going to try that when I order carts next. Good find.

Congratulations Jen! I'm sure thinking about an eGo too, given all the happiness it's been giving people. For what it's worth, I've had that leaking issue a few times too. For me, I think it's just that occasional atty that leaks. The ones I've been using most recently haven't leaked. Maybe it's just me, but I doubt it. More likely it's that I've been buying better attys since I've learned more which those are. You won't go wrong buying them from VT store; at least, none of the ones I've gotten there leak.

I like this idea too. I quit using my stand because it was so light I kept knocking it over. If it had some weight it'd work a lot better. A more massive base with the additions you suggest would go a long way to solving that issue. I say pursue it!

ROOR, I had to +1 you on that too. I gotta say, you're really a benefit to VT. I like everything you have to say, very upbeat. I'm glad you found VT, bro.

Heh. You gotta love Vapor Talk! We rock.

Just so I don't go too far off topic... I am looking for a 6ml bottle of watermelon juice. I know it's here someplace but I've been looking for it so long I just made another one. Some day I'll find it. Know how I know that? Because I have two carry bottles of pretty much all the other flavors. Now, back to non-topic business: I'm with you guys on the dishwasher - nobody, and I mean nobody else in my world, knows how to do the simplest act of loading the freakin dishwasher. Am I the only member of my household who understands time and motion efficiency? Absolutely Yes. Emphatically: Yes! Okay, I'm better. That was a close one.
-
I'm gonna go looking for that, but let me be the first to say I will need to know how you manage the drip process and making the attys. So I hope you feel successful enough to share. If not, put me on your beta tester list! I've been thinking about this atty-making too, just because I think there must be a way to make one that is reliable, long-lasting and maintainable, even if expensive. I still say that once US manufacturers start making attys it's gonna be a whole 'nother ballgame. Why not you? <hint>

What, lose something?! Moi?! BwaaaHAAAHaaahaaaaa... Actually, I lose my VP2 all the freakin time. That's just part of being a space case. Worse though, I couldn't find my PT this morning! How the heck do you lose something plugged into your computer?! Eventually I found it in my coat pocket. You figure it out... Girl Bashing? Moi?! You'd be amazed how much housework and cooking I do. And I bet I'm not alone either! Well, maybe I am if what I hear from other men is true. I don't know how they get away with it though; that sure wouldn't fly where I live... Even so though, that's not how I lose my PV. That just ... happens.

Fortunately like DV, I don't have to stealth vape at work (yet anyway). And as you all must know by now, the whole concept is anathema to me! That said though, Uma I totally dig your thread and I'm glad you've had some practical replies. Truthfully, I'm taking notes too as who knows what the future might bring? This is another of those wonderful threads on VT that answer questions you didn't know you had. Way to go Uma!

Scheduling is the key! With that kind of rotation, you're gonna have to get ... organized! That stuff sounds great.

It's been 555 for me for a couple days, with watermelon or peach before I crash.
-
"WTF!" would've been my reaction too! I wonder if that was a glitch or something; doesn't sound right at all. That many bottles couldn't have weighed more than three or four pounds.

nana I haven't looked for a while but I've seen some pretty good deals on glass 30ml bottles on eBay. I'll start watching again, because if I get lucky DIYing juice I'll probably make larger batches less often. I want to do storage in glass and just carry liquids in plastic. The trick on eBay is not to buy from resellers, but to watch for surplus sales. There are always resellers with that stuff but that can get pretty pricey. The surplus stuff comes around far less ofen but you can really score if you're patient.

Heh. You sound like me - if 20 are good, 50 might be enough. I always like that you're so supportive helping others learn whether they want to vape. I think we've had similar experiences in that vein, in that you can't push a rope... But I sure admire your willingness and your conviction that vaping is better.

Coming To My Forum Peeps For A Little Help.
ddavelarsen replied to DAYVAPE's topic in General Vaping Discussion
DV, your father and you & your family are getting our continued prayers. Hang in there man. All the good will from all the people you know is centered around your family right now. -
You know something I've been noticing lately is that VaprLife is one of the very few manufacturers who provide "On" feedback via LEDs. I've come to rely on that, and will have a hard time purchasing a mod that doesn't include it. Which really limits the field. That said, Altsmoke's PT looks pretty nice!

Poll The First - Your Analog Type
ddavelarsen replied to ddavelarsen's topic in Polls and Questionnaires
Thanks J, good info. Others have had similar experiences, so maybe I'm all wet. Figuring that out of course was my reason for this thread. It seems that people have a much more varied response to nicotine/smoking than I'd expected. I've never gotten light-headed from smoking, even when I was eight or nine years old. And they knew how to make analogs back then! None of this 'light' silliness. Anyway, this has been a good education for me; thanks to all who have voted and commented. I hope it keeps going; the more responses in the poll, the greater its statistic value. -
How I Love Those Banks...bofa
ddavelarsen replied to FTJoe's topic in The Vape Lounge - Off Topic Chat
Holy crap, what a bunch of 'wipes. BofA are one of the worst abusers of human dignity in general, and I don't care how much more likely hightened foreclosures makes mistakes like this, any bank that mistakenly drags a human being though something like this should be hurt, publicly and fiscally. A steady diet of this kind of news would make anyone dour. Even me. (Hard to believe! But true.) I think I'll go read the Onion or something for a while... -
That looks really nice Joe! I like the silver color on those bad boys; very classy looking.
-
Yeah, I thought 'natural' must be the see-through plastic. Thanks for the clarification. At those prices you'd have to buy a hundred to make the shipping worthwhile, but what a blast it would be to have a huge boxful of little bottles! How many did you get, nana? Just curious. For a long time I've had this 'container' fetish - bought all kinds of little bottles, bags and boxes off eBay and from American Science and Suplus and wherever else I found it. I have a whole freakin cabinet full of little storage stuff - and none of it useful for juice. Go figure.

Personally I really don't like UPS but that's just me. I do know however that you can pay an addl fee for Sat delivery. Probably if you and Parked had known that and paid the Sat delivery fee, you could have gotten it then. But it's one of those things you have to learn by using UPS a lot. They don't make anything easy... I only know this because I've used a local UPS shipping point in a strip mall, where the staff is small and helpful. They make using UPS almost bearable. Edit - you'll be happy again I'm sure, when you get that eGo in your eager hands! Enjoy!
