  1. 555 from Health Cabin that I mixed into 70% VG base. Wonderful stuff! Talk about clouds of vapor, too! WooHoo!
  2. Thanks Hodge, it's always good to hear good news. I'm afraid I'm with Popsicle though, if it's about the money this in not helpful. And the resistance is about the money.
  3. Thanks for the kind thoughts my friends. I don't know whether any of you have ever vaped 555, but it's a wonderful tobacco flavor. Health Cabin has a deal that you can get a free 10ml sample of any of their tobacco flavors with any order. Their prices are great, though shipping is pricey. Anyway, I really do recommend that place for shopping for attys and flavoring. If you use normal strengths of eliquid, they have great prices on that stuff too.
  4. This one's a winner. I ordered, besides the 555 which is the only flavor I've tried so far, Marlboro and Camel. Camel smells good, I don't get much aroma from the Marlboro. I'll follow up when I've had an opportunity to taste them. But to the 555! I want to say that all the HC flavorings are nice and clear, very pretty. This was a positive note right out of the box. When I smelled the 555, I got a little excited; it smelled just like my fave! So I mixed 3 ml for testing. I used 30% flavoring which some of you will remember is a bit light for me. But I've been reducing the amount of flavoring in my mixes for a while, slowly, and finding that it's still working just fine. I vape heavy VG liquid, and this mix is 70% VG overall. The HC flavors are based in PG, which makes up the remaining 30%. What can I say? It's everything I've loved in 555 from my first day vaping. The flavor is clean and crisp, the nuttiness just right, smooth as can be. The strength of the HC flavors (well, this one anyway) is totally acceptable in my opinion; actually much more potent than I'd expected. You will probably be able to mix a more common 20% or less with total satisfaction. I'm just a flavor tramp. This is without doubt one of my happiest days vaping. I found a 555 flavoring that I can mix to my own requirements and get the good flavor I remember from the first days. I've tried every 555 flavoring I've ever seen available, and this one is without doubt the very best. It's dead on. I'll have no problem buying 70 ml of this wonder the next order, and know that I'll always have a good 555 to vape. What a wonderful day!
  5. Bummer! You know what they do to the messenger who delivers bad news, right? Yep, cut off his head. Sorry Bri. Off with the head. Upside I guess is that I'll get to try some DIY Flavor Shack flavors. They sure sound like a winner.
  6. Really? I sure expected that PA's was liquid anyway. But you know what "assume" means. Guess I'll have to check that. Hate to have to order from yet another supplier! Shipping kills me.
  7. I've been thinking about trying the ethyl maltol too. PA sells it as well, don't know how it compares to DIY Flavor Shack.
  8. LOL! Ain't that always the way? Congratulation on your new banner and new lifestyle!
  9. I read somewhere that Lorran's is PG-based.
  10. So in my quest for a good HV 555 I tried TW's new 555 flavoring. It's well concentrated, so beware using it at too great a strength. I mixed some by itself, and while it's totally vapable, it does not taste like 555. It has a powerful raw peanut side note that just pushes it beyond the nutty flavor of the real thing. The raw peanut is too strong; if that were toned down a lot, this might be a passable substitute. But it's not 555 yet. A disappointment in that regard. All that said, this will be a good flavor to mix with other stuff, maybe caramel or something buttery. I haven't tried anything yet, but that's next up. Just wanted to get my impression out there, I'd welcome other's experiences with the same stuff, or suggestions for other 555 flavorings. I've tried Liquid Xpress 555, and it's not concentrated enough to be useful for HV liquid, though it does taste pretty good if you like your flavors light. I'm still on my quest for a good 555 flavoring. I have ordered from Health Cabin, we'll see how that is when it gets here.
  11. Looks like we were posting at the same time. You're right; don't drip and drive. For commuting, a lot of us use a 510 cartomizer, which is a cart and atomizer all rolled into one. Again, most of the suppliers here sell cartos, and they're inexpensive. They work fine on an eGo but really shine at higher voltage, which you'd need a pricier mod for. This might not be the time for high voltage just yet, you'll want to get your feet wet with a more common commercial device before taking that step. I'm not familiar with the model you mentioned, but the eGo is a safe bet. Check them out to see if it's something that might interest you. Good luck!
  12. A good, reliable unit to start with is the eGo/Tornado. You can find the eGo at any number of the suppliers here; the Tornado (same thing) is sold by Totally Wicked. Use it with a low resistance atomizer and you'll be blown away how good vaping can work for you. Also, as Neo suggested, direct dripping is the way to go. There's a video here someplace that shows how to do it. Beats carts hands down in my opinion.
  13. Good one. Great video too Brian!
  14. I'm with Uma on this one I think. Have you used a different brand of atty lately? Is your charger acting 'normal?' I know this is really subjective, but it just sounds like some outside influence to me -- though I've no idea what else it might be. Sorry I can't really help; you sure have our sympathy. If/when you get it figured out, this is something we'd all like to know frankly. Too weird; it couldn't have happened to a nicer person. If it's still in warranty I'd send it back too. If not, I'd sure be thinking about replacing it; backups are only good for ... backups. You need to fill that gap as quickly as you can. It makes me nervous just thinking about it! Good luck, I wish you the best.
  15. Hello, I'm sorry for you problems. I'm not sure the question, honestly, but I have a couple of my own that may help us with your problems. I'm not sure what devices you initially had trouble with, but since there's such a learning curve to this it might simply be that the units you're using are not the best. While it's true that defects happen, statistically having a run of bad luck like that is not likely. I think it's more likely that the units you're working with are not very powerful; I suspect your ego will go a long way toward satisfying you. If you're looking for a more analog-like drag, you may want to use low resistance atomizers on your ego; that will give you better throat hit and more, though warmer, vapor. But they do make the ego more like a 5V device, which is - my opinion! - most desirable. You may wish to contact PayPal to get your refund processed. They'll go through a whole bureaucratic process but ultimately you'll get your money back. Just be patient. These amounts of money are probably not worth hiring an attorney for; it'd cost more than the money you got back. We do have a supplier review section, as well as a venting forum. Check out the supplier mosh pit -- you can vent all you like and people will commiserate with you all day. Believe me, many of us have had the same frustrations you're feeling, and someone may have really good advice for you. If nothing else, you'll sure feel better. Just hang in there, ask your questions when you feel like you're having trouble with your devices. Sometimes it's just a matter of changing the way you use it; small changes can make all the difference in the world. Really. We're here to help you succeed. I wish you the best! Oh - one other thing. I went through several devices until I found one that worked well for me -- and I'm still finding things that work better all the time. You could be going through that process too, just finding the combination that works for you. Vaping is a very personal thing and what works for one person may totally suck for the next. But we'll support you, just hang in there!
  16. I seldom see the new splash page unless I'm coming from another machine. My bookmark is still set to the old portal, and I get redirected to the forum. That said, it was hard for me to figure out how to find the forum initially. I'll try the new splash and let you know how that goes here in a few minutes. Okay, the resolution is great, but I think you want to make the purple "ENTER" a hyperlink too; that was my instinct, to click the first word rather than look for a button. Other than that, I like it but I'm still going to keep going directly to the forum.
  17. I think I refill them four or five times before I ditch them -- and yes Brian that is so final. So, since I switch out flavors during the day, I probably use one for three or four days before I give up on it. They usually get to tasting pretty nasty by that time. My liquid is about 55% VG in total, so that might be part of the issue. (Thank Lily; hadn't thought about that.) But they're so inexpensive I don't have a problem with them being disposable. I just toss em. I've never looked inside one to see if it's burnt at all; I only ran one so dry I could taste something burning, and like Resa, that was enough for me!
  18. And here's where individual opinion steps in. I really like the flavorings from TW, very potent and very clean-tasting. I think these are my favorite. Next fave for me is Perfumer's apprentice. Add these two together and you have 95% of the flavorings I use. The balance is generally Lorann's, because they also are generally very concentrated and taste like what you'd expect from the name. You've gotten great suggestions here, so now it's time to make your list(s) and start mixing! Congratulations on picking this endeavor for your next vaping experience; I think it's the most fun of anything to do with vaping. I haven't vaped commercial liquid in months, and don't expect to again, frankly.
  19. That makes me feel good, because I intuitively stored the large quantity of nic I bought in multiple much smaller bottles. I figured that way the only exposure the nic would get to atmosphere was pouring into the bottles - until I open one to use it anyway. I'm hoping it'll keep two+ years this way too. I store it in a closet by the central air duct, all packed in a box. I'm about halfway through the first 4 oz bottle ~two months into it.
  20. That's awesome!
  21. Hey JagSol, that's an amazing review! Amazing in that I thought you really managed to get something very subjective across completely. I learned enough from your review to know that Clove Crush probably wouldn't do it for me -- I'm looking for a clove juice that carries that ax-to-the-chest feeling and taste that clove cigarettes do, and this sounds too mellow to me. Which is truly mind blowing, since taste is so personal. I think you have a future as a juice reviewer if you want to pursue it, and I'm not kidding. Very good job! You also seemed totally at ease in your video, which I sure can't do. Good job all around!
  22. Great review Actor, and that looks like a sweet device! Thanks for sharing it with us, I wouldn't have seen it otherwise. Very cool, and a great price.
  23. Thanks snubber! But I didn't mean to sidetrack this thread...
