Hi Noner, welcome! Yes, we have help for you, this is the right place. I assume you're using a 510 passthrough and yes there are USB adapters you can plug into a wall outlet. You can find this at some of the suppliers in the forum, or locally. You need to be sure its output is at least 2,000 mah; less output won't drive your PT. You can also find USB adaptors for your car. As TJ mentioned, there are many, many 'mods' that you can look into. A mod is a device made to accommodate a larger battery, either higher voltage or increased storage capacity (mah) or both. Common mods are VP2, Spade, eGo (this is a 510, goes well with your current setup), Phidias Woodimus (another 510), Chuck, GG, and on and on. This can get confusing quickly; the eGo is providing great satisfaction for many vapers and is reasonably price effective. And it looks nice. When using the most common 3.7V, there is a relatively new option for 510, the magnum atty. This gives a high-voltage experience at 3.7V. Highly recommended, but new enough it's still not clear how long the magnum attys will last compared to 'regular' 510s. I haven't used anything else since I got the first one. As to using carts; you're on the right track, that's exactly how I did it when using carts too. But you don't have to use a cartridge, and most vapers eventually end up direct dripping. This is where you drip e liquid directly onto the bridge inside your atty. 2-3 drops will get you 4-6 decent hits before needing to drip again. This is a learning curve, it's easy to flood the atty at first, which is easily corrected. You'll find all kinds of help with direct dripping here. A good place to start is Chris's direct dripping video, which I can never locate but someone will come along soon enough to provide you a link. Anyway, that's a start but get ready for the deluge of help from the rest of this great forum.

That's the best reply to that criticism I've ever heard! I've had this experience frequently, and I have a theory. Want to hear it? a) e-cigs are 'unknown'--analogs are known; e-cigs look like smoking, which suggests it's no difference anyway; c) it's expensive to get started on e-cigs (I know, price of a carton of analogs--but that's a lot upfront for an unknown); d) complexity--e-cigs are very complex to use compared to analogs (or NRTs) and the path of least resistance wins. Like anything else that purports to help smokers quit, the first and most important part to quitting is wanting to. Absent that, there's no traction whatever. Most smokers only want to quit as kind of background, 'someday,' kind of concept. E-cigs are an in-your-face commitment. I figure I've done my part if I've introduced the fact they're available and that many people find success this way. Some day they're going to want to or need to quit and with any luck they'll remember there are e-cig forums out there to help guide the way. I've even done a demonstration with the chick that cuts my hair, let her try my VP2 and sent her home with lots of info. As I was getting my hair cut this weekend she said something like, "So you're still using your e-cig thing huh? My boyfriend and I are trying to quit too, we're using the patch." I just shrugged and wished her the best. There's no pushing a rope.

Right on Uma!

Brian do you have a link? All I found at cigliteusa were prefilled. We know that won't work for me... But I do like the cartomizer idea.

I have not noticed any difference between brands of PG or VG -- haven't tried many, though. But they're such a 'standard,' and USP is USP, that I don't know there could ever be any meaningful difference. And yes - I've come to prefer Lorann flavorings; they're very concentrated. Flavour Art are also very concentrated and quite good, but the price difference kind of prevents them being a favorite. FArt tobacco flavorings are great though; try them all if you're into tobacco. Lorann doesn't have tobacco flavorings.

M4 Atttys From Innovapor
ddavelarsen replied to missxenobia's topic in Troubleshooting & Technical Issues
Thanks very much for your well-considered info! "Light bulb" is a perfect way to think of attys, that's going to be how I view them from now on. -
Really, I shouldn't act like I didn't know you were kidding. ... You were, right? Okay! I'll stop. Sorry nana, I just can't help myself. Really! Besides, Brian will know which is what counts. Right?
-
Ouch! nana, you are my own very best friend! I hope that I never equivocate on anything, or you'll catch me ... oh, wait. Well, nevermind.

We will Brandon though I expect it'll be a while as I'll have to buy some fairly pricey tools. I have have an adjustable lap but can't remember offhand. Anyway, will keep you posted.

Magnum Attys And Drip Tips @ Nhaler
ddavelarsen replied to Brandon's topic in General Vaping Discussion
I've been vaping my magnums for a little over two weeks on my VP2, and honestly, I haven't noticed any difference in battery life than with any other atomizer. -
My brother just got his stainless T-tip for an 801 and the hole, naturally, is quite a bit larger than the D-tip hole for my 510s. But I think polishing the hole is a definite requirement. Maybe I'll get a couple and find a good reamer to use to clean up the holes, and then a lap to polish them. That should be pretty easy and quick if I put the lap in my drill press. I think I'd want to round off the mouth end of the T-tip too. A little customizing, and these should be pretty nice. But I still think I'm partial to the D-tip, just for its 'softness.'

Jen, that's valuable information for all eGo users, thanks. That's something we wouldn't have known without you giving it a try and sharing your experience here. I don't use an eGo (alas) but know many who do and this is something they'll need to know. I'm a total d-tip believer and would have recommended it to anyone, except now I know better. Thanks!
-
Why thank you, that is so inspiring! Seriously though, what have you changed that made this so? Diet, exercise, divine intervention? I don't know that my weight gain is necessarily due to less nic, but I've sure tried to include less of everything and still gained.
-
That's a great run-down Tek, thanks! I haven't used the T-tips, only because of the squared-off 'lip' end. I'm really unhappy having to vape the square ends on 510s, and for that reason alone I've never considered the T-tips. But the colors are great, something you simply could not do with plastic, and that's very compelling. My brother particularly wants one for that specific reason. If the t tips had a rounded end I'd be much more likely to give them a try myself. I also think metal construction would be less likely to work loose over time than the delrin of the d-tips. Trade-offs, trade-offs... The issue about the unfinished hole in the t-tips is concerning. For whatever reason, I'd have expected that to be cleaned up, simply so the liquid would flow. Actually tt should be highly polished. Now I'm considering getting a couple just to customize to my requirements. ~ See what you've done? Talked myself into it after all this time. Sheesh. I need to quit reading this forum and talking to people before I run completely out of money! Oh, wait; that was last month...

What's interesting here for me is that there's a good mix of weight gain vs loss. I wonder if that suggests it's not vaping-related, but one of life choices? Personally I've gained about 8 lbs since I started vaping. I'm certainly getting less nic than I was smoking and I've wondered whether that might have something to do with it. I sure haven't increased my exercise quotient! I have however made a conscious effort to reduce the stuff I consume that I know contributes to my weight. Not a lot, but some reduction in 'bad' food. Yet I've put on the pounds. I expect that reduced nic - or as Tektronik suggested, toxicity! -- has led to that. Possibly. In one quit smoking class I took, I remember they said you could gain 30 lbs quitting smoking and still 'break even' with the health risk. So I guess we're all doing okay in that regard. But if I ever put 30 lbs on top of the 145 I started with, someone shoot me!!! I about died the other day when the dr weighed me at 152. I'm glad summer is here; I'm gonna work outside all summer and try to trim some of that back. It's freaking me out. I'm 6-4, so my favored weight would be about 185-190. Used to be I could eat or drink anything I wanted and stay at 175. That sure went away. Big time.

Some people find PG to be too harsh, too. You might also consider a higher proportion of VG in the liquids you buy. Many vendors will mix to your specification or offer VG flavors.

Great Article From Smokefree Pennsylvania
ddavelarsen replied to Tektronik's topic in Vaping Legislation & Regulation News
That's a fantastic article Tektronik! Thanks for the link, I saved it for my e-cig information package too. -
15 freakin email addresses... Man I don't know how you do it, but I guess everyone has their specialties. I thought I was bad with three, and I only keep track of two of them. But honestly - I do not understand why anyone would ever open suspect email, or even one from someone they don't know. I never open spam for sure; they're not selling anything I want, 'cause if they were I'd have contacted them and I'd know who they were. Anyway people who open suspect msgs are the ones who keep spammers in business and give phishers something to look forward to. I guess they're filling an ecological niche of some kind. Oh - prey.

Knight I think that's a reasonably fair statement, but I tend to think of it more like PG = throat hit, VG = vapor. As best I can tell there isn't a great difference in flavor between PG and VG, although most flavorings are in a PG base anyway. I've heard others say that VG smoothes out flavors, which I think might be true, but more because the vapor is so ... smoooooth. One thing I'm pretty certain of in terms of enhanced flavor is that less 'power' = more flavor. That is, a cartomizer for example kicks out great flavor that might be pretty indistinguishable at 6V. But TH and vapor production suffer. This seems like the great trade-off: flavor or TH, take your pick. With that in mind, I'm working recently to find just the right balance of these ingredients to give good flavor at high voltage. If it's possible with consumer-available inputs, I'm going to figure it out.

Teri I think people believe those goofy emails because they want to. Hell, I even get caught with one occasionally and I think I'm pretty dang skeptical. Just goes to show, tricksters can be pretty sly. But TeriJo, I can't imagine managing five email accounts, even if they're your communications filing system. Doesn't that eventually lead to a lot more email regardless your discipline? That must take a lot of guts.
-
I've just given up trying to explain this to people. I guess I'm not as mean as TeriJo though, I do usually go ahead and read them, and if worthwhile forward without the headers. Not being passive or anything, but when I do, I always copy the person who sent it to me...
-
Of course not you, Ms Backup...

Amen! Like other smokers! And yeah, food tastes so much better I want to eat ... all the time! Cripes, I'm already old and fat, I can't be enjoying freakin food! I guess I could eat liver all the time. That would keep me from getting any larger. Wouldn't it? I mean, quitting smoking doesn't make liver taste good, does it?!
-
Yeah, the subject line in this one was an attention grabber - "Your order is ready to ship" That's hard for any vaper to ignore!
-
Oh boy, you found my pet peeve! Thanks TeriJo.
