  1. Hi Stu, thanks! I am so bad! I 'promise' to take pics of Woodimus today; really! Also, my friend nana hasn't tried the LR attys on her eGo yet so I'll let her know your experience. I've been pushing these bad boys at every opportunity, and honestly haven't used anything else since I got the first one. I'm using them on my VP2 and totally happy.
  2. LOL! Oh, Fiend, that's so righteous! Man I'm not laughing at you, I'm laughing with you. That was a paragraph for the books man, total awesomeness. You're my hero for today, just for writing that. Okay, maybe some help. (But dang man, I can't quit grinning long enough to type.) I don't know that you'll be able to salvage the cartos but you can try rinsing them out with warm water, maybe under running tap water, and letting them dry for an extended period - possibly a week or more - to let the filling dry completely. I believe you're using too much Lorann flavoring; that stuff is very concentrated, and I'd recommend no more than 3 or 4 drops per 3 ml, and work up from there. You can thin the VG with distilled water (another item your grocery store helpers may not know they have) to make it easier to drip. If you wanted more TH you could thin the VG with a bit of grain alcohol (Everclear). I think the strong TH you're getting from the current experiment may be due to excessive flavoring. Maybe someone with more experience will say otherwise though. As to filling cartos. I've only used KR808s but the way I do it is to carefully pry off the white mouthpiece end, and drip 3 or 4 drops on the inside of the barrel, letting the liquid run onto the wicking. Holding the barrel at about 45 degrees facilitates this. I usually fill 6 or 8 at a time, so I just put a few drops in each in rotation until I have about 20 drops in each one. Then recap and let them set overnight to smooth out the distribution of liquid. I hope this helps some. I really feel for your frustration. I've thrown out an awful lot of DIY supplies myself over the last few weeks. Just hang in there, maybe try your mixing by direct dripping until you get something you like, to prevent harming expensive cartos. Since you're not mixing flavors yet this won't apply but often I use 0 nic juice to test flavors; you wouldn't believe how bad some of my attempts have tasted! Or maybe you would. Hang in there man, it'll come together. Really.
  3. You know Brandon I was just kind of skimming back through this thread and I saw that I'd promised to take some pics of Phidias Woodimus. All the excitement has kind of died down but I will get the pics for you. I promise! By the way -- I'm sure I haven't mentioned this before -- that magnum atty absolutely rocks. I've hardly used anything else since I got the first one. I did kill one using it at 5V, and another one died on me but the one I'm currently using is going strong. It's been my sole vape for about two weeks now I think. Not a great test but suggests at least that they don't die immediately.
  4. Nana! Pull the plug on those orders already! Just do it; you'll be glad you did. And you have some equity coming anyway... As far as the magnum atty vs HV goes; Tektronik got it right in the end (not the same as HV) but from my experience I'm willing to say that the magnum atty is for sure the way to go if you don't have a HV mod. For me it's just as good; in many ways better. I've been vaping the low-res atty on my VP2 almost exclusively since I got it, all my HV stuff is just sitting around unused. I'm totally convinced the magnum is the way to go. Plenty of TH, mostly good flavor though it can get a bit bitter over time. When that happens, I do a 'huffing dry burn' for want of a better phrase, to clean it out. Just pull many drags through the atty, burning the old stuff away. After it cools down, it will give good flavor again. Whether this reduces the life of the atty is still an open question for me, but it seems like it might. Worth it to me so far. I recommend it without reservation; for sure it's cheaper than a HV mod!
  5. Many people really fear the unknown. Sounds like your "friend" -- if you want to call him that -- might fall into that category. People who denigrate others really get under my skin. A good comeback to "it can't be good inhaling all that vapor" might be "you know it's not good inhaling all that smoke."
  6. This is indeed a good lesson, and nana will be proud of you Jeff, for taking those first steps now... It's also possibly a suggestion to keep several devices in rotation, which is what I try to do but have fallen off since I started using the magnum attys; back to the VP2 for me! But anyway. Jeff it's heartening to hear that your cravings weren't as bad as we might have feared. This makes me suspect too, that all the other chems in analogs are a big part of the addiction. I think this is a big deal, probably the most important part of this thread. Thanks for the indirect encouragement Jeff!
  7. Hey Fiend -- that's a normal story; mine too! I did all the same stuff and most of us here did too.
  8. Well this is totally off topic (and a very interesting topic indeed gents, thanks!) but OMG -- That is me to a freakin T! Cripes man, that just blew my mind.
  9. FT Joe, I always appreciate your great attitude about this. I think this goes further than anything in helping people take a step back, relax, and vape on. You're my hero for today. (Again. ) Nana's right, I've struggled a great deal staying analog-free. I've had far more successful days than not but still, once in a while I'm either just too lazy to vape or that lizard part of my brain says, "Just do it!" and boy I do it. Ugh! Good thing they taste so freakin nasty! Vaping high nic turned the corner for me. I really don't have an issue with craving nic anymore, and the higher nic enhances TH quite a lot too. That works for me, but lots of folks are just as satisfied with a tiny fraction of the nicotine I require. This is a very individual thing. My recommendation? Don't sweat it. Keep your gear in working order, be sure you always have your favorite juice on hand, and don't beat yourself up when you want to try smoking occasionally. I've always found that I honestly prefer vaping to smoking, which is such a wonderful thing that it's almost too good to be true. But it is true.
  10. Sounds like we could know one company not to do business with... How about it Chris?
  11. Take heart, eventually you'll begin to sense when you're about to get that awful burnt-poly taste and will be able to avoid the worst of its effects. You're right that we all know that one! I think this is one reason most of us end up direct dripping eventually. That's really the way to go, but won't work with cartomizer units. Good review!
  12. LOL! I've had that same reaction asking about propylene glycol... I think it's the 'chemical-sounding' words that people react to, when they've no clue what the actual product you're referring to is. I'd bet all, or at least most of, those stores have it, it's just that whoever answers the phone is not ... informed.
  13. Cripes man, where do I get my e-cig! I want one!
  14. Well, I did briefly consider drop-kicking them both into tomorrow... Does that count? Actually you have a point, it's just not my nature to push people. I'd make a terrible car salesman. Or salesman of any stripe actually.
  15. Sounds like we have a magnum atty covert! Yay!
  16. Good testing and research Brandon. One of these days you and Brian will have to come over and give me a lesson in testing stuff with my multimeter. Right now it's just a dust collection device. Actually, the cigar box it's in is filling the dust role, but the multimeter is similarly unused. (Not to state the obvious or anything.) I'll go looking for snubber's post too. That's discouraging but again, I'm confident all will be well in the end. Too bad about the delay though. I like to remind people in moments like this that we're living in an innovation age with e-cigs, so some setbacks should be anticipated. I know that doesn't make vapor, but ... well, it just doesn't make vapor, dang it, does it?!
  17. Thanks Mark, I think that did the trick. But you saw where Teri took that right? I dunno man, most days I should have just stayed in bed; I'm not smart enough to keep up with all these new concepts.
  18. Not to fly too far off topic or anything, but playing pool with spaghetti conjures all kinds of odd ideas; cooked or not. Me to smoker: "You can't play pool with spaghetti." Smoker: " ... Well I'm not buying one of those Chinese contraptions! Just a wasta money! How you know it's not gonna kill you? Is it FDA Approved? Looks like smoking to me, who you trying to kid? I whutn' born yesterday!"
  19. I figure I've done my part. Maybe someday they'll decide the really don't want to smoke and give a working alternative a try. You never heard of 'pushing a rope'? That's always been one of my favorite ways of saying, You can lead a horse to water...
  20. Hm. Is the 510 the only thing you've used on your PT? If not, can you try something else? That doesn't sound right and doesn't mirror my experience. I don't know if a faulty atty could cause that, but it's an obvious first check. Which means you will have done it of course. Otherwise, don't worry; I'm confident Jeso will take care of any problems you have. I've had good service from VaprLife. Keep us posted though; device troubles are very frustrating, so just know we're here with a broad shoulder for your woes.
  21. Brandon I truly think you're giving Brian a run for his money! You guys are gonna have to square off someday to see who's the most thorough researcher. Ordinarily I'd say Brian hands down, but ... I dunno. Maybe we can come up with a contest on this somehow. I'm going to think about that today and see if I have anything to donate. Hm. ... Probably before I can make another order, they'll be sold out again, the way Brian's been talking these things up. They sure sound like an ideal solution!
  22. Speaking of mods, Jeff found this great mod database: E-Cigarette Mods Database
  23. That's fantastic! Someone's worked very hard on that and it really shows. All talk and no action, I've threatened to do something similar for a long time, just for my own benefit. But this blows my idea out of the water, and I didn't have to lift a finger! Thanks Jeff.
