  1. Nicely done! Very professional. Can you push the volume up a little?
  2. I think I'm going to have to order some more flavoring! Those sound great kitsune, thanks for sharing.
  3. This has been my favorite so far. Recipe is for flavor only, add to your preferred ingredients. I included volume to make 30 ml total flavoring. You might wish to make less to see if you like it before committing all those pricey flavorings. Peanut Butter Brownie Perfumer's Apprentice Peanut Butter -- 63% -- 19 ml Lorann's Chocolate -- 23% -- 7 ml Lorann's English Toffee -- 13% -- 4 ml I believe you could up the chocolate flavor, reduce the BP, and have a more 'brownie'-like taste. Just haven't used up my first batch yet. I'm also going to try PA chocolate in the next round. When mixing, I first mix the flavoring, keeping it separate. That makes it easier to keep track of tweaks. If it's a new attempt, I vape it in 0 nic to see if it works; I hate throwing out valuable nicotine!
  4. Good deal man, you're gonna dig it. Good luck and keep us posted!
  5. Good job Brian, I think you have one of the calm and persuasive personalities that gets people's confidence up. You should be a used car salesman! You'd get rich. Seriously though, I agree about discretion. Since I'm so strong on the whole "there's nothing wrong with vaping" schtick I have a hard time hiding it. But I don't go blowing vapor in anyone's face, either. One thing though - when I'm hot boxing some LR atty to burn out the bad taste, I do it in my car. I bet people think it's on fire. he he!
  6. I think this is sensible advice. While I don't advocate hiding vaping, neither do I believe in getting in anyone's face with it. The last thing we need is for HR depts to start banning vaping! We want them on our side, and any coworker tattle-tail could make that difficult or impossible. It could only take one complaint to end it for everyone in the company. I'm sure fortunate in my work environment; no one around me has any problem at all with my vaping, even the VP whose office is right behind me. (I don't think he would deign to notice me vaping though - or doing much of anything else. ) One attorney did a double-take one day, but then he remembered I'd talked to him about e cigs previously, and realized that was what I was doing. He did notice that there was no odor, and couldn't come up with a reasonable argument against vaping in the office at all. I could tell that disturbed him in some small way, I think because it looked like smoke, but at least he and most of the other people around here are rational. I am lucky, and I realize it.
  7. Welcome to VT kosch! I hope you got the message: don't buy an e cig at the mall! You will waste your money and end up thinking that vaping doesn't work. But it does. Check out the suppliers here, definitely go for a 510 kit of some kind, my recommendation based on lots of experience from users here is also the eGo/Tornado (they're the same unit with different names). The eGo uses a 510 atomizer, or a 510 cartomizer. If using an atomizer, we do recommend direct dripping, as you will get more consitent flavor and throat hit. Cartridges tend to feed the liquid too slowly for many people, and you end up with a burnt taste rather than that fine vapor you deserve. Just my .02. Good luck! I'm glad you're looking at adopting a much healthier lifestyle.
  8. Sorry, I can't vote; the poll requires a vote in each category and I don't vape anything less than 30mg, ever. I use about 50ml of 48mg per month.
  9. For what it's worth, marshmallow flavor is ethyl maltol. It's pretty easy to find. Dang Burn, I wish decadent vapours had more flavors! But I bookmarked it on TW US just in case...
  10. Great post Burn, +1. (You too kitsune, for your wonderful community spirit! ) One thing I will add though is that I've found it much better to mix proportions by volume rather than by drops. That's because I use a lot of VG, which is much thicker than other components, hense larger drops by a significant margin. To measure by volume I use a baby medicine syringe, available at virtually any pharmacy or pharm section in the grocery store. They're usually about 5 ml. This really makes a huge difference in being able to accurately replicate other recipies. Just my .02. Mixing Madness!
  11. That's very cool, and thanks for supporting our suppliers! And Congratulations! That was a tough contest.
  12. Amen. And it won't take 23 days to arrive, either. Maybe two or three days. And if you ever have trouble with something you bought from VT Store, you will be treated fairly and promptly.
  13. Great success story Patty, Congratulations and thanks for giving us all such inspiration! I'd bet my left hand that I'll never be able to non-vape for days or weeks, but I know I can go without analogs so I'm in hog heaven. I think it's wonderful when folks like you and nana and FTJoe can cut it back so dramatically. You rock!
  14. Welcome EV! It's great to have you at Vapor Talk. I know what you mean too, about seeing in print how much and how long you've smoked; that is indeed a wake-up call! You're on the right path. While we don't know yet whether you'll be a vaper like you were a smoker, occasionally going long periods without vaping, I would suggest that when you find yourself going for a long time between uses that you get in the habit of keeping your batteries topped off. I honestly don't know how long they'll store a charge, but the last thing you'd want is to pick up your device after a couple of months, and have all dead batteries! Welcome again and ask all your questions whenever you like. Vape on!
  15. Mixing you own liquid is definitely much cheaper than buying it premade, and you can adjust the proportion of ingredients to your own preference. I haven't bought juice in a couple of months until this weekend when I did buy some commercial liquid -- 555, which I simply cannot (yet) replicate with any fidelity. I calculate (roughly but I think it's close) that I can make 10 ml of liquid for about $1.25, which would cost $7-10 to buy. Getting set up for DIY though, is as costly as getting set up for vaping. You need base liquid with and without nic, and lots of flavoring. As with commercial liquid, when you initially buy flavoring get small amts until you figure out which flavors from which manufacturers you prefer. That's an ongoing process that gets better over time as you find what you like. Anyway, short (sorry! ) answer to your question is, Yes it's much cheaper per ml to mix your own, but can be quite costly to get started. The cost savings is equal in importance to me, to being able to tweak my liquid to just the way I like it.
  16. Could be. Big powerful stuff for big boys. Tektronik, that's thinking through the box! And Chris when you get one, you'll have to throw a party so we can all come play with it...
  17. Oh, gimme a couple days... Just kidding, but that was like the second thing I thought when I saw that bad boy light up.
  18. Wow man, I never thought of asking our local batt shop about ordering stuff. They're awful pricey though, I hate going in there. It's only for those special batteries you didn't know they even made, as far as I've been concerned. Anyway I'd sure like to see some OLight stuff in person, it looks top notch from what I saw. You have a nice battery store! Keep me on your Christmas list. Oh, I did notice that GoingGear has CR123 battery cases. I've been wishing for one of those all along. Might have to buy 'something else' though to justify that small purchase.
  19. Brian, you can't tell me that you weren't thinking how to mod that too. Vegas, I know exactly how you feel. I want that! Sigh.
  20. Yeah, well some of us stock that stuff up just because of our government. I'm sure one. And you're right, I think everyone should have some stock of backup food and water ready to throw in the truck and boogie, if nothing else. There's no telling what can happen, and weather is just the most obvious threat. I've lived around tornados too Brandon, and you'll believe me when I say, there isn't much that's more frightening than seeing that dark funnel reaching for the ground... Yet... I'm not prepared for any extended survival situation either. I doubt that many people are, other than the really paranoid folks out in the woods surrounded by barbed wire. Which doesn't sound crazy at all to me, frankly. About all we have are a couple cases of canned water and a box of survival books and maps. No food really, other than the normal canned stuff I live off of anyway. There's enough of that around for a few days, no more. But really folks, water is far more important to your immediate survival than food is. If you need to start stocking up somewhere, that's a clear choice. Also, nicotine in whatever form you favor. I think FTJoe's suggestion for gum is a good one. I hadn't thought about nicotine until this thread but I'm sure going to keep my nic stash close at hand for ready grabbing. Or at least add that to my mental 'ditch' rehearsal. Brandon, have you tried regular AA batts in a mod? That would be worth a try. I don't know whether they'd have the power to drive an atty; does anyone have experience with that? With grandkids, I have a whole lot of AA batteries on hand most of the time. Just never tried them in a PV. Costco is a good place to buy those in bulk too, and they have lasted quite well for me. Good thread Brandon, thanks.
  21. Well believe me man, it only gets better. Congratulations on your DIY! Enjoy it until all the other flavors get in, then it'll be 'up all night' makin juice.
  22. Man, I had to subscribe to this forum just now because I guess I don't get by here often enough to get hold of all the fun you're having! I'll catch up here directly. Meanwhile, I just saw this and had to let any of you folks with flashlight fetishes and big bank accounts in on this bad boy. Holy crap, this made me wish I'd won the lottery yesterday like I was supposed to. And I'm not even that big a flashlight nut (just a minor one). Olight SR90 2200 Lumens SST-90
  23. Lucky man! Now I think I'm gonna have to play it while I'm digging holes for flowers.
  24. Thanks GDub, that's what I'll try here in a few minutes. We will have success!
