  1. Hi Brian, glad the power is back on. I'd be tempted to go to Home Depot and buy a generator just for my e-cigs. So... did the analogs taste like crap?
  2. Also remeber that NJOY has a pending court ruling where they argued that their product is a tobacco product. The decision to remove flavorings is part of their legal posturing. If they want to argue that they are selling a tobacco product, then they must follow the current law that prohibits flavored tobacco.
  3. Found this response from NJOY to an e-mail that was sent. Interesting. Sent: Friday, December 11, 2009 3:30 AM To: Amy Linert Subject: NJOY to Discontinue Flavors, Takes Additional Steps to Prevent Underage Electronic Cigarette Use Dear Amy, Haven't smokers been harassed enough? I have finally found something that allows me to stop inhaling combustibles into my lungs and now you take away my flavors? How dare you! If you do this I will do my best not to purchase or sell your product. I am an adult (50 years) and like ONLY non tobacco flavors. This is just wrong. I wish companies had some balls and stood against the nanny-state and fought for what they believed in. Stop taking choices away from legitimate customers. From: Amy Linert [mailto:Amy.Linert@mcmurry.com] Sent: Monday, December 14, 2009 4:51 PM To: XXXXX Subject: RE: NJOY to Discontinue Flavors, Takes Additional Steps to Prevent Underage Electronic Cigarette Use XXXXX, thank you for your note. We actually agree with your opinion about flavors, about adults being given the ability to choose what's best for them, and that someone needs to stand up for the industry and the consumers it serves. In fact, no company has done more on these fronts than NJOY. We were the first to bring electronic smoking devices to the US public, we were the impetus behind setting up the industry's association, we are leading the way on the science on electronic smoking products, and we are on the frontlines of the related legal and political proceedings in an effort to ensure that electronic smoking products stay on the market in the US. We didn't make our decision about flavors without great consideration, the most important one being the importance of finding a place that will allow electronic cigarettes to stay on the market. Sometimes compromises are necessary to achieve longer-term gains. Please don't lose faith, because we sure haven't, and we will continue being the leader in the industry, a responsibility which includes taking feedback to heart from people like yourself. Amy Linert
  4. Thanks for sharing that Dave. Even though it was probably a paid endorsement, it's good to see a Chief of Staff from a hospital explain that e-cigs are harmless.
  5. Yeah there definately is something going around. People at work are dropping like flies. Luckily I got my shot a couple of months ago. Anyways, I'm glad you're on the mend Keenan.
  6. When I first started vaping I was using the NJOY/NPRO. I washed out the pre-loaded carts and used my own juice. Thats still an option. Even if the FDA determines that the e-juice is safe, there still is the battle with special interest groups that feel any flavor except tobacco is targeted at kids. Thats a battle thats already been fought and lost. Its gonna be a sad day if the only flavor offerings in the VT store is tobacco and unflavored juice.
  7. I have heard of one chinese supplier that wants to begin sending all devices here with empty carts (no fiber or juice). Of course this is in response to the FDA CRAP. If flavors are outlawed I will still vape with Traditional Tobacco. I'm not giving this up. I've come too far.
  8. That was an interesting read. I never knew about the asthma inhalers. I also found this on the web: Medical Uses PG has been used as the aqueous-based chemical additive in asthma inhalers and nebulizers since the 1950s, with no serious side effects known. PG, because of its water-retaining properties, is the compound of choice for delivering atomized medication. It is also a common diluent for injectable medications, constituting 40 percent of the intravenous form of Phenytoin, an anti-seizure drug

    Lasers

I wonder if a laser could be developed to heat up the e-juice instead of using an atty?

    Lasers

I was looking at different laser pointer sites. I did not know there was a whole sub-culture of people that are into lasers. There are some cool designs that look like they could be modified into a very cool PV. Laser pointer Forum
  11. This is an interesting thread. I have a "go to" battery that has worked excellent from day one. Great vapor and it lasts me all day at work. My other battery is OK but definately not as strong as my good one. Both of the batts my wife got with her Spade have been great, so I gave her my OK one (without her knowing ) and now have two great ones. I agree with Jeso when he said its not the unit. Batteries are fickle.
  12. Hi TrustinHim, "Trustfire" has a 2 batt charger for around $8. Do a search and you can find one. The universal charger that comes with the VP's is kinda tricky. As you know batts don't last forever, maybe its time for some new ones. Welcome to the forum.
  13. Hi Lordvapor, even though life hasn't been easy lately for you, I find your story encouraging. I hope this is the beginning of a new chapter in your life!
  14. Dave, it's moments like that that continually encourage me to not smoke. Our lives are changing for the better!
  15. Hey keenan, glad you're getting better. Missed you bro.
  16. Hi tiki, don't give up. I know it can be frustrating when your e-cig isn't performing like you want. Chris is right, you may want to bump up your mg to 24. That seemed to work for me. PM me if you need any help.
  17. OK. Green volunteered to set up and arrange a VT Forum meeting in Vegas. Thanks buddy.
  18. I think you are on topic also. We sometimes forget that we aren't just addicted to nicotine but also the action of smoking. Yes it became a part of us. We identified with it and sometimes scheduled our life around it. Like you I loved smoking, but I have found a new love.
  19. Nemesis, did you try Jeff over at Wordup yet? He said in your other post that he could take care of you.
  20. Nice review Schizo, I especially like your analogy using a "Nintendo thumb" The button is comfortable and although it takes some pressure to push it, its not too hard. I also look at that as a safety feature because it won't accidently turn on in my pocket. I've heard stories of that happening with other "customized e-cigs" <------ that's for you Green.
  21. Kellyjo, maybe buy a couple of starter kits and keep em in your trunk and sell them to people you run into that want one. I'm thinkin about doing this.
  22. & 1 part love. God that was corny. I'm sorry
  23. Thats interesting. Thanks BirdDog. I would assume they forsee the gov't restricting juice and not allowing certain flavors just like they recently outlawed flavored cigars. Its gonna be a sad day if the only flavor allowed is tobacco. Maybe I better start learning how to make my own. Chris please post the recipe for Dulcis. :P
