I doubt there is anything you do about the first one. The taste may get better the more you use it but I would just toss it.

I don't recommend doing a dry burn. It burns the wicking material.

I think doing a dry burn messes them up. I use them right outta the package

I have not had one die on me yet. I use the LR one for about 11 hrs. a day on my eGo-T batt. I have never tried to see how long my batt would last with it. You will not need to but anything else. Give it a try I have found it to be very reliable and very easy to use.

Yes its VG. USP stands for "U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention" There is foog grade and USP grade VG.
