  1. Well, dang. Try rinsing the coil under very hot water, soak it until the water turns cool and then let dry overnight. That should help better than nothing.
  2. Darker, sweet juices will gunk up a coil faster than something that's light in color and not as sweet. I can use the same type of coil with a cucumber/mint juice for over a month and it will perform just as well as when I first put it in. That same coil used with a chocolate candy flavor gunks up within one week's time. Take that coil that you rinsed in water and soak it in some vodka or Everclear overnight. Rinse and let dry another night. That should help ungunk it.
  3. Yep. I've gone the subohm, high watts route but don't like the warm to hot vape. Cooler is my sweet spot. Even chain vaping, the iStick 50W lasts between 4 and 5 days between charging.
  4. Wow. And I even followed all that. I was basing it on my vaping style, which is to use a 1.8 ohm coil but only at 8W. I go up to 9.4W when I'm feeling adventurous.
  5. Thanks for clarifying that, Earthling. Okay, it's been a long day and even longer week, and please correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't a lower resistance coil use less power to heat up due to the lower resistance in the wire?
  6. You set either the volts OR watts, you go with one at a time, not both at the same time -- if that makes any sense. So, if you're in wattage mode, set that. Leave it at that. As for the "highest" you should go in watts or volts, start low and vape. If that doesn't do it for you, turn it up a little. Vape. Keep repeating that until you get a slight burnt taste or a harsh vape. Turn it down just a bit and that will be the sweet spot for that tank-coil-juice combination. Each one will be a little different so you'll just adjust each time. I've noticed that fruit flavors like lower heat while bakery flavors/coffee flavors like it hotter.
  7. Yep, what Compenstine said. There are variables that will change depending on many factors.

    Hi

Where shall we go? Welcome to Vapor Talk.
  9. Reading your way through the threads will teach you lots! Welcome to Vapor Talk.
  10. There are tanks that are similar to what you have that also have a removable drip tip. An Kangertech Evod 2 with the glass tank allows you to change drip tips and they look identical to your knock off tank.
  11. They don't get much cheaper than the links we gave you. If you do find them cheaper than that, take a very close look because they might be knock offs.

    Hello

Not sure if we have any members here who use pipes. They might just be hiding. Anyway, welcome to Vapor Talk.
  13. The "rubber band" was most likely a gasket, which is kind of important to keep your tank from leaking. Oh hey! My Vapor Store has them for $34.95, it has the charger and should also have an eGo adapter in the box. Here's the link: http://www.myvaporstore.com/Eleaf-iSmoka-iStick-50W-4400mAh-Simple-Pack-p/elis-is50wbk.htm Hey, guys? Can some of you come over here and keep me from buying any more of these things? Please??? Damn, but that's a good price on them. I just want to use the excuse, "but it's part of my back up equipment! And look at how cheap they are!" Nevermind that I'm rotating nine of these things and have two in boxes that haven't even been opened yet. Oi. I'll let one of the other guys link you to a subbox as I'm not into those. Oh, and the one I linked you to is black. They do come in magenta (HOT pink), royal blue, and silver but I just put a wrap on mine so black is preferred. The wraps can be taken off so you can change them. The pinkish one on the far right has been changed to a blue square design. The wraps also help with the grip as the battery is a little slick without them -- to me. From left to right: Russian 91% (this is more advanced than you're ready for right now), the Kanger Subtank mini, Cisco Hybrid HH.357 atomizer, no tank, Kanger Pro Tank II, Anyvape Davide full-sized.
  14. Vaping is a very personal thing. What one person likes, it won't be the right fit for another. We all like different things for different reasons, that's what makes our discussions fun and informative, but you need to try it for yourself to see if it will work well for you. That said, personally, I don't care for the sub-ohm tanks. They tend to run too warm for my preference because I prefer a cooler vape. My battery/tank/coil combination that's working for me right now is the Eleaf iStick 50W (no separate batteries), an Aspire Triton 2 tank with 1.8 ohm coils. Like Earthling said, there have been issues reported with the iStick 50W's button firing by itself, especially when charging. In my experience, I haven't had that problem, but I never charge the battery unattended, always take the tank off when charging, turn off the battery when not vaping/carrying it around. Right now I have nine of these in rotation. Yes, I like them a LOT! Take a look around the forum and read past threads, they are full of helpful information.
  15. Good morning, Rixter! What do you do with the slow cooker? Put in enough water to cover the 357s and put on low or high? I'm very curious about this method, although I've finally gotten away from using the 357s as my main since the Triton 2 came out.
  16. Don't mind Jeff, he's just a little disgruntled because he couldn't get a contract to go pro... they said something about his technique not being up to par. Anyway, welcome to Vapor Talk.
  17. Thank you. See? That wasn't so hard, was it.
  18. Okay, guys, enough with the geek. You still haven't answered his question: which battery would he be better off with if he should buy the RX200 (I think that's the mod he was considering). If he's not planning to go sub-ohm or micro-sub-ohm, what's the bigger bang for the buck and still give him some playing around room?
  19. Flavor can also have something to do with throat hit at times. Anything with menthol, mints, candy cinnamon, and some citrus seems to have more throat hit with same PG level than other flavors to me. Bakery flavors and some chocolates are the smoothest from my experience.
  20. No one needs a super high powered mod, but if you truly want one, we just want to make sure you know what you're doing with battery safety so you don't get hurt. It's a lot like no one really needs a Lamborghini, but if you really wanted one and had the money for it, we would suggest special driving courses to keep you safe.
  21. More PG = more throat hit More nicotine = more throat hit More VG = less throat hit So, when you went from 70 PG down to 50 PG, the throat hit lessened. You probably noticed that you get more vapor now? More VG = more vapor.
