Tips for Maintaining your Vape Stuff
Tam replied to Jonny Stevenson's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Why not start your own thread with some questions you might have? You'd probably get some really good info rather than have the info hidden in this thread. Other new vapers might also benefit from the answers you get. -
Yep, me too, @Bebop. I've been using Kanger brand tanks for nearly five years now and so many different tanks that have all worked well. If there were problems with them... it was usually something I did wrong, not the tank or coil. Of course, everyone's different. I'm sorry you're having such problems with all of your Kanger tanks.

Can someone help me ? I m locked out of my account

So you were able to get into your old account? If you're still having problems, give a shout to @Christopher for some help. -
I would presume you were waiting on the nicotine, flavorings, PG, VG, beakers...

Instead of linking to an online store that also has "articles", would you please just post your message here so it doesn't look like you're trying to spam the forum? Thank you for your cooperation. -
Whats going on with purchasing e-liquid online?

Compenstine's Fadora Vapor closed due to these restrictions coming down. -
Looks like you're being well cared for so I'll just add one thing. Might think about trying a variable voltage/variable wattage mod? There are some that are easy to use and you get to lower or raise the power level to match the resistance in your coil. I'm also a mouth to lung hitter and frequently chain vape. The one thing I do not like is warm or hot vapor so I use a 1.8 ohm coil at anything from 9.4W to 10.7W depending on how old the coil is. As you use it, the coil will get gunked up. When that happens, you'll want to add a little more power to get the same draw from your tank. Just a thought. Welcome to Vapor Talk!

You can be the kid with all the cool toys. If the folks you're staying with aren't good with vaping, you can just do that in the bathroom or the room you're staying in - just don't vape anything with a strong odor - stay with light fruit or minty flavors. Take a drag and hold your breath for a few seconds, that will decrease the amount of vapor that comes out.
-
Good to hear, because if the room is full of smoke, then something's on fire. It's called vapor. Just kidding you a little, but we do prefer to try to stay away from anything that makes vaping sound like smoking. The FDA is doing a good job of making vaping sound like smoking all too well on its own, they need no help from us. That said, if you're not getting as much vapor and flavor as you want, there are a couple of other things to try other than your new tanks, which are great by the way. VG content in your juice. With your new tanks and the subohm coils used in these, they can handle more VG without giving you a dry hit (this is when your wick can't keep up and draw enough juice to wet the wick sufficiently). More VG equals more vapor. PG is the flavor carrier and can increase the throat hit. For what you want, I'd go with a 30 PG/70 VG content in your juice. That should give you plenty of throat hit along with the vapor you're looking for. Nicotine level will also increase the throat hit. Keep in mind that with subohm coils, you'll want to go with a lower nic level on the juice (you'll still be getting a similar amount of nic that you got in your Nautilus at a higher level with the non-subohm coils). I'd go with a 6mg or even down to 3 mg. For example, when I was using a Nautilus with a 1.8 ohm coil, I was using a 12mg nic juice. That same juice in my Subtank with a .5 ohm coil almost blew my tonsils out. I dropped down to a 3mg nic in the same juice and I still feel satisfied with the nic output. @Earthling789 can probably explain better why this works like it does. Have you been drinking more water? Vaping dehydrates you, which will also affect how well you taste the juice. Open the airflow to full or almost full open. The more airflow you get, the more vapor and flavor you get. Just some suggestions.

Sounds like you like sweet bakery type of juice. Why not try some apple pie or sticky buns? I would also venture out to some vanilla, French vanilla, caramel... you could also get some regular blueberry or black berry or strawberry or any fruit flavor and add a little inside your tank that's full of the funnel cake or cinnamon buns flavor to add something new. Just a thought. If you get sample sizes (5 ml), you can go a little nuts and discover flavors you didn't know you'd like. Keep in mind that different flavors taste different depending on how long they've had to "age" and come into their own. For example, some of the creamy flavors take a week or several before the deep, sweet creamy flavor comes out. Some juices you'll like fresh out of the mailbox while other require they be put a way for a while before they really taste good. Different tanks with different coils will also make a difference on what a juice tastes like. If you take one flavor and put it into three different tanks, chances are good that you'll taste different aspects or they'll just plain taste different in each tank. That said, what are you using now?

Great comeback, Squid! ...and... um... HELL NO!

Glad you got it resolved...

No, a different coil wouldn't make a tighter draw. Some tanks are very airy and more conducive to what's called direct to lung type of inhaling while most new vapers prefer mouth to lung (inhale into the mouth first, then inhale into lungs) like they did with their cigarettes. Those who use MTL (mouth to lung) type of draw typically like a tighter draw. A different tank that's known for tighter draws or MTL style of vaping might work better for you. What might work with the drip tip you currently have on your tank is to change how you put your mouth on the mouthpiece. Don't put your mouth around the tip, but a little more like if you take a sip from a bottle of soda. That can restrict airflow without making you look funny.
-
And another reason for having back ups with you. And back ups of back ups.
-
It's your airflow that will make the draw tighter although a smaller bore drip tip will also help. Try closing the airflow a little until you get the draw you like. The 30/70 is a good mix for flavor and vapor, it's not too thick for your coil to wick properly, imo. The Cleito takes a 510 connection so any drip tip with the 510 will work just fine.
-
Vaping dehydrates you. Did you increase your water intake? You'll want to drink more water. A LOT more water at first so you can flush out all the toxins from the cigarettes (not juice, coffee, tea or soda -- go with water only). That may help as well. Check your juice to see what the PG/VG levels are (if they list it). Higher PG will give you harsher throat hit, higher VG will smooth is out but too high and it could give you dry hits when chain vaping due to the juice being too thick for the wick to saturate between draws.

You'll just have to get another one so you can finish your review, lol.

I love the Eleaf iPower 80W TC. It comes with a 5000 mAh internal battery so I only have to charge it once a week or so. We have them at our own Vapor Talk store: https://www.vaportalk.com/us/product/eleaf-ipower-80w-tc-mod-white/

Ohms measure the resistance of your heating element or what we call a "coil." There is a big difference between a 4 ohm (4.0 ohm) and a 0.4 ohm coil. Also, the 2 ohm is actually a 0.2 ohm coil. Which Eleaf iStick do you have? There are several: 20W, 30W, 40W, 50W, 60W, 80W, etc. Most will fire down to a 0.1 ohm coil but some will not. If you could tell us which iStick you have, we could help you better.

Yes, I think we did lose @Compenstine again. Wonder where he wandered off to this time?

https://www.vaportalk.com/us/product/kanger-evod-twist-650mah-red/ https://www.vaportalk.com/us/product/vision-spinner-2-battery-1600mah/# https://www.vaportalk.com/us/product/ego-c-passthrough-battery-by-joyetech/# Those three links above go to the Vapor Talk store for the type of batteries you want. The first is the Kanger EVOD twist (variable voltage) in red. The second is the Vision Spinner, which is a better battery than an eGo, in my opinion. This is also a variable voltage battery and 1600 mAh, which means you don't have to charge it so often as something smaller like the next link. This eGo-C passthrough allows you to vape while it's charging. You will need to charge it more often as it is only 650 mAh. This battery is a fixed voltage so it stays at around 3.7V depending on its level of charge at the time. More and more often people are opting for the mods which has a bigger capacity (having to charge less often), more options (watts, volts, TC), and less fuss. Just because you have these options doesn't mean you have to use them, but it's nice to know they're there should you want to.

Aw... that only thing that would make it even better is if he gifted you with a dedicated ohm meter as your first gift. -
When your mod says low resistance, that means the coil you have in your tank is too low for the mod to fire. When you use your coil, the resistance changes over time as gunk builds up on it so that's why you're getting that message. I would change that coil to see if that helps.
