  1. I'll probably cave one day soon and get a 306dca. *sighs* I'm a terrible dripper. No matter my best intentions I just get so happy and wind up over-dripping every time so this shield seems custom made for someone like me. :P
  2. After having gone through a not so great experience with a vendor, Empire Mods' style of doing business is very much appreciated. I really should make a post on the Positive Vendors' area soon-ish.
  3. So... my drip shields from Empire Mods got here today and the silver one works great! I haven't tried the purple one yet, though. With the universal drip tip extender on the Boge 510 LR 2.0 ohm atomizer... it ROCKS! Man, but I love Empire Mods. They really know how to show their appreciation for their customers. Every order comes with a new free toy. I got another interesting drip tip with this current order.
  4. Since you've only been vaping for a short time I wonder if it could be something your body is doing as it gets rid of the other toxins from the analogs and not specifically from the e-liquid? Just a thought. If you're feeling adventurous I'd give it a few days and then try that juice again to see if that's what it is or not.
  5. Dan, you so NOT HELPING with my resolve not to buy anything more until after my trip to California next week!
  6. Other than Sweet-Vapes, I've recently started buying juice at EC Blend and, like Blu recommended, The Vapor Room. I really like both of the latter sites a lot!
  7. Ha! Great minds and all that. I bought those two drip shields the other day. Just waiting for them to get here. I'm very impressed with Empire Mods as a business. They really know how to appreciate their customers. In today's package was the three (or was it four?) different drip tips. They added a free gift of a tip I'd been looking at and waffling over whether or not to get. Since there were two different packages from them there was one free gift of a flat tipped tip in silver and one in black delrin (?) material. Aaaand... after trying the bridgeless atty, I think I like the 2.0 Boge much better. Will be ordering more of those!
  8. Those attys are pretty amazing. Just got the order in from Empire Mods for the bridgeless atomizers. I'm curious to see how they compare. As far as the price is concerned, yours wins hands down! Oh good. I was hoping the juice made it to you okay. Glad you like it.
  9. Just went over and saw some vids on how to remove the bridge. It looks fairly easy so I might try it when one of the attys starts not working as well as it should. The ones I started with leak all over the place but I thought that's just normal. These new Boges hardly leak at all.
  10. I think you're doing the right thing in trying different strengths and mixes of PG/VG to see what you like better. If you have the money for it, I'd pick one flavor and get different nic and PG/VG levels. That would make getting the mix right for you much easier rather than to do it on different flavors. Then, when you figure out what works for you -- go nuts and try all kinds of yummy juice. When steeping you just leave it in the bottle and let it sit in a cool, dark place. They recommend you shake the bottle at least once a day. Some people prefer the taste of unsteeped liquids. Others prefer it after a few days while others prefer to let it sit a week or more. It all depends on what you like as well as the liquid itself. I think with e-cigs and e-juices, it all depends on your preferences. What one person likes another will not. When I first started I smoked some, vaped some. It took a little getting used to but by day five I put the analogs aside and haven't looked back since. There are still five packs of smokes in my fridge that I've never touched. Having them there makes me feel a little better -- like if I want to smoke I still can but it's not absolutely necessary and I prefer now to vape. There's a learning curve to vaping and I'm still fairly new to all of this myself discovering new things all the time. The folks here at VT have been a great resource for all sorts of information and so nice about it, too! Good luck with everything. I hope you stick to it while you're going through the trial and error phase, it's definitely worth it. I feel so much better now. Oh, and one more thing. I read somewhere that 24 mg = full flavor 12 mg = lights 6 mg = ultra lights I don't know how accurate that is but it gave me a starting point in nicotine strengths. The reason I keep so many different ones around is when I'm vaping a lot I'll switch to a lower or 0 strength so I don't get too much nic. You'll know it's too much when you get dizzy and maybe even a headache starting.
  11. Dripping really is an addiction all its own! Now that you've brought it up -- how do you remove the bridge?
  12. Hi JQ! Welcome to VT. You're getting a lot of great advice from the guys. I'm still fairly new to all this, too, but with everyone's help here I'm coming along. I think. LOL! The eGO batteries are probably going to be the most satisfying to you as a beginner. That's what I started out with. Having lots of backups is almost essential if you're wanting to get off the analogs (regular cigarettes). The Vision Stardust V2 clearomizers are probably going to be the easiest and most convenient for you to use imo. I prefer the ones with the longer wicks. You fill it up with e-juice, screw it onto your battery, wait a few minutes so the wicks can soak in the juice and start vaping. You won't have to keep filling it up as often as you would most cartomizers. I tried carts shortly after I started and much preferred the Startdust for the convenience and ease of use. Of course you might like the carts better. Everyone has things they prefer. As you experiment with stuff you'll find what works best for you. Sweet-Vapes has wonderful tasting e-juice. Their sample packs are a great way to get started to find out what you like. The longer you vape, you'll find your preferences for flavors will change as your tastebuds come back to life. I started out with fruit flavors but am now hooked on the coffee (Sweet-Vapes' Starbuckets Mocha is to die for!). Their Black Cherry flavor is nice and clean with just the perfect amount of sweet to make it interesting. And this is from someone who normally doesn't like cherries. Their Glazed Blueberry Donut was so good when I got the smallest size that I quickly ordered the 30 ml bottle. Rixter recommended EC Blend brand Chocolate Malt to me and I'm definitely hooked! As for nicotine content, this is just my personal opinion but I think it's better to get a higher mg and vape less than to get a lower one and get frustrated because you're having to chain-vape due to not getting enough nicotine to satisfy your craving. I smoked a pack a day of Marlboro Lights (Kings) for years and started out with 24 mg. Not too long after that I went down to 12 mg. Now, I have everything from 0 to 24 but mostly 6 and 12 mg. As for PG/VG ratios -- that's just a personal preference, I think. Too much PG gives me a sore throat so I go a little lower, mostly 50/50 PG/VG mix or 60/40 PG/VG. I've tried the 100% VG but don't care for it as much. The more VG content, the more vapor you get. The more PG content = more flavor coming through but a stronger throat hit. Oh, and once you get the juice? You can use it right away, but if it doesn't taste good to you, just let it sit (this is called "steeping") for awhile then come back to it. As the juice ages a few days to a week or so, the flavor will change. Whenever I get something I'm not crazy about right off the bat I let it steep a bit and I usually like it a lot better after. Sweet-Vapes' Dulce de Lece was like that. When I first got the sample sized bottle I didn't like it at all. After a week or so went by I tried it again. Now, I'm going to have to get a larger bottle of it and let it sit. Whatever you do, just ask questions. Everyone here is great about answering and giving really good advice. Once you get a little experience under your belt come back and we'll talk about direct dripping...
  13. When I came home today I found a package from Vapelite. My order of 5 Boge 510LR 2Ω Atomizer from Vapelite - $3.50 had come in. Rixter? Your rec is made of AWESOME! The attomizers are no brainers to use, gives off a smooth, cool vapor, and the flavor is really coming through. These days the only time I'm not dripping is when I'm in the car driving. Otherwise, I can't make myself use anything else. Now I'm curious how a bridgeless atty will do in comparison. I'm sold on Boges at the moment.
  14. No, no, no! LR clearomizer + high VG content in liquid = Oh my gosh, look at all the pretty vapor!!!! LOL.
  15. Thanks for the rec, Dayvape. I've already ordered the universal drip tips, saw them and thought it would help keep me from sucking juice into my mouth. Good to know they really work!
  16. For now I think I'll keep working with what I have but keep these in mind and check the website periodically to see if they're in stock. Since I'm off to sunny California next week I probably should hold off on any more e-cig toys until after I get back.
  17. That you can't over drip sounds and it doesn't leak sounds great. Since it's a 306 -- that means I would need some kind of adapter for my eGO batteries, right?
  18. If I might make a suggestion when you decide to carry more products? Add a couple of eGO compatible drip shields. When you do I'll be over to get them.
  19. Too late. I'm already well and truly hooked on dripping. There's just no comparison in flavor and TH. About the only time I use my clearomizers now is when I'm driving. The only bad thing about dripping is that I find I tend to chain vape and then get dizzy from too much nicotine. Instead of just stopping for a while I switch to lower or 0 nic and keep going. Between you and Kitsune I think you've created a dripping monster!
  20. Hey, no apologies necessary. After all this time and all the stuff I've bought for e-cigs, this was my first real goof. I figure I'm way ahead of the game. Went over and bought the two different kinds of shield that are exclusively for eGO batteries. I really appreciate all your advice so far!
  21. Thanks, Blu. I'll go over there now. *rolls eyes at self* I did have a good laugh though. Typical noob mistake. :P
  22. You're more help than you realized. Argh! No. Seems I bought a drip shield for a 901. No wonder it doesn't fit right. Okay, I need to go look for eGo specific drip shields then. Know anyone who needs 901 drip shields? I have one in silver and one in purple: 901 Drip Shield Drip shields for 901 atomizers. Also compatible with a 510 atomizer, with the use of a 510 extender. http://www.liberty-flights.com/product.asp?id=124 Care to recommend a good place to get drip shields? Um... preferably ones that will fit an eGo battery.
  23. Just got two drip shields in the mail today. I put one on the eGO 650 pass through. Is it supposed to sit on top of the threads so the threads show? That's a far down as it goes so I was wondering. Somehow I thought it was supposed to screw on? The drip tips I have seem to go inside the top of the drip shield so they sit fairly low. Is that supposed to happen or should it sit more flush on the top like a tip does on the bare attomizer? So many questions come with new toys...
  24. I can't wait to try them out! Now that I've finally gotten a handle on dripping, I don't like the clearomizers quite as well as before. You can just call me "Tam" it's a lot easier to type...
  25. Thanks, Rixter. Took your rec and ordered some. Hope they work as well for me as they did you!
