  1. You must have back ups for your back ups. The only thing I can comment on is the tips. You'll want to try different kinds of tips to find what works best and feels most comfortable for you. I've got several different kinds of tips that I like to switch off to. It just depends on what I feel like that day -- and what color battery I'm using. It's prettier when they match. ^____^ If you're going to do the direct dripping thing into the atomizer you'll definitely want to get a drip shield to keep the liquid from oozing all over. Then, you'll want to get different colored tips to match the color of your drip shields and...
  2. What you can smell once you start with the ecigs is pretty amazing. I found one draw back of sorts. I'm very allergic to perfumes, colognes, scented... anything, and now I can smell them so much better. Lol! You're doing good, Suzi. Keep it up! But if you feel the need for an analog every once in a while, don't beat yourself up over it, just get back to vaping when ready.
  3. Yep, what Jeff said. When I started my main concern was that I didn't want to give myself an excuse to go back to analogs. A dead battery that I couldn't use because it was charging would've been a prime example so I got a pass through. They work great.
  4. What kind of battery are you currently using? That might be the culprit... maybe. My tried and true are the eGo T 650 mAh pass throughs although I do have a couple different twists. eGo 650s are pretty inexpensive and very good work horses imo.
  5. After smoking for so many years it's going to take more than one week before you start to feel better. Hang in there, Suzi! Your body's working through quite a few changes. While this is happening you're going to feel tired, cranky, sore all over, and generally just... not well. If you stick with this, it really does get better like everyone's said. I think we've all been where you are now and we all sympathize with you.
  6. I second the Starbuckets Mocha from Sweet-Vapes.com. You might also check out Virgin Vapors' site. They have a Kona Milkshake that's just wonderful. I got that at 12 mg, 100 VG.
  7. Welcome! I think you're going to like it here.
  8. When vaping you might also try to open your mouth and also exhale through your nose. I hated doing that with analogs because it burned, but it doesn't hurt with vaping, it helps me to taste the juice a bit better.
  9. All the times I went outside to vape netted me several airport security asking me questions about the e-cig and being very positive about it. ^__^
  10. I love the eGo 2.4 ml CC (changeable coil) clearomizers! They give the closest to the true flavor of the e-juices next to dripping. You don't have to buy a whole clearo when it no longer produces vapor like it did before -- you just change the inside coil (unscrew the tip/mouth piece, unscrew the coil, pop a new one in, replace the tip) and you're good to go. The coils come in a five pack that are much cheaper than to buy the whole thing. AND! It holds a whopping 2.4 ml of liquid so you don't have to mess with things so often. They're also very easy to clean and reuse. You can't go wrong by buying from The Veteran Vapor. The customer service there is excellent and Brian is very knowledgeable about all of his products.
  11. Realistically? No. But if it would make you feel better I could fabricate a wonderful story for you...
  12. Welcome, Thrasher. You've come to the best place to ask questions. You'll get lots of experienced vapers on this site giving you the best advice on the starter kits. I think you're on the right track with an eGO battery. Just keep in mind that if you get a pass through, you'll need the USB cable to charge it. The "regular" eGO batteries take a different charger. If you like the pass through, you might just stay with a different pass through to keep it similar. You can also get an a/c adapter for the USB cord. Everyone has their own personal favorites. Mine seem to change the longer I vape. At first I used cartomizers and clearomizers. Then, I changed to clearomizers exclusively until Kitsune got me into direct dripping. It all depends on what works for *you*. Some trial and error is on your horizon but the learning and experimenting is more than half the fun! And back-ups are a must. Back-ups of back-ups (especially of e-juices) are... addicting. I've bought quite a few things from http://www.ecigbestsave.com and they give excellent customer service. So far everything I've gotten from them has been quality stuff although I've never bought any batteries from them, just drip tips, atomizers, and a few clearomizers... I think. Good luck!
  13. You think the Universal is huge, Rixter, I use mine with a drip tip on top. Add the short eGO 650 pass through, it looks utterly ridiculous! But then again I really like the cool vape it gives when I use it.
  14. LOL! Guess there's several of us trying various stealth vaping techniques today. Here's another: go into bathroom, pick the end stall next to wall. Stand facing toilet and vape away. No real need for stealth, you can vape like normal so long as you blow the vapor toward the wall side of the corner of the floor.
  15. You've actually done it inside an airplane? I don't think I could do that. Color me impressed!
  16. Flavors like butter rum, coffee, bakery goods... all are rather "heavy" and the smell seems to linger. Fruit flavors like peach, apple, etc. put out a "lighter" smell. I stealth vape in my office using the lighter fruit flavors and never get any comments. There's also a raspberry air freshener in plain sight so that usually explains away any smells. Whenever I vape in public (read: outside), people come up and ask what it is. I almost always get a good reception when I answer their questions. When I'm vaping in my car, just out of habit and liking fresh air I always crack the window. Good for you that you're doing so well with replacing the analogs with an e-cig!
  17. Another trick I heard about and do occasionally when I absolutely need to is go into a bathroom stall, take a small hit, hold for a few seconds (usually a count of ten or so), then blow out a thin stream of vapor downward while waving the vapor away. Either a hand or some kind of paper works well. Since I'll be waiting around inside an airport all day I'll have to think of something. I hate to have to go into one of the smoking areas that's always thick with cigarette smoke. Maybe find a bar or lounge and ask permission first?
  18. Lol! I've heard of the "coffee method" of stealth vaping: take a hit, hold for a couple of seconds, exhale into a hot cup of coffee so it looks like the vapor is coming from that. If I absolutely need to, I'll go the bathroom route if I can't go outside.
  19. That's kind of the mindset I'm going toward. E-cigarettes are still too new and people don't understand. Probably better to go outside rather than to make anyone uncomfortable.
  20. On Wednesday I'm going to be flying out to spend a few days with friends in California. I'll be the first one in so I have an all day wait in the airport for the rest of the motley crew. What are your experiences in airports? Is it okay to vape? Should I only stealth? Go outside? I'm thinking I should go outside and/or ask before vaping. What are your thought? Suggestions?
  21. Speaking for myself, it's easy to have patience because I was where you are now. I still have so much to learn but it's nice to be able to return the favor by helping someone else when I can. From my limited experience with cartos, one flavor = one carto. The wicking seems to really latch onto the flavor. Putting another flavor as a change created a whole new mix. Even when I washed it out, there was still a lingering hint. Sometimes that was pleasant. Other times they were competing flavors and it was nasty! Of course, your experience may be different. Hopefully, other people who are much more experienced with cartos will give you more information. In another thread I saw that you could just pull out the wicking and direct drip into the atomizer... but it all depends on what kind of carto you have. Some you can, others not so much. What kind of carto do you have? Some cartos/clearos work only a few days (or even DOA), while others can work months. I'd say maybe a few weeks on average? For my 2.4 ml CC (changeable coil) clearos, most coils can last months before I have to change it. My rec would be to get them from Brian at The Veteran Vaper. You can buy the coils separately so there's less expense when it goes out. You don't have to buy the whole thing every time, just change the coil. I also find them easier to clean to change flavors. http://www.theveteranvaper.com/ego-2-4ml-cc-changeable-coil-clearomizer-clear/ You'll know when to trash it when it no longer works or no longer works right.
  22. What Kitsune said. She's the lovely lady who got me through all the ups and downs of dripping until I'm now hooked on it. If you like dripping but don't like the mess (atomizers can leak like crazy), you can get drip shields. Those are a MUST when dripping imo. You're using an eGO battery, right? I just found out that not all drip shields are the same. If you're using eGO batteries, you might consider one of these: http://www.empiremod...uct_p/egodc.htm or this http://www.empiremod...p/emegodrip.htm They're specifically made for eGO batteries so you don't need an additional piece to make it fit. I didn't realize and bought two that don't fit right the first time. I really like the one in the first link. It's rather plain looking but has several air holes that make the vapor cooler instead of warm. Depends on whether you like cool or warm vapor. In order to cool it even more I use one of these http://www.empiremod..._p/chrryuni.htm a universal drip tip plus a regular drip tip. It makes the e-cig really long but the cooler vapor is worth it to me. Any drip tip is okay except those that are for 306s (they're longish so you'll see the difference right away).
  23. Good information, Blu. Thanks. I think I'm good with what I have right now. Probably won't be needing anything more for the next few... years. Well, in a few months I might need a few more atomizers for dripping but that's about it. I'm set for a bit.
  24. You meant to say the next 6 years, right?
  25. Please correct me if I'm wrong but don't 901s need an adapter in order to use them on an eGO battery?
