Starter Kits vs "Custom" Set Ups for a New User
Tam replied to Nawzlew's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Yes, just empty the tank of all old juice (don't put it back into the bottle of the new juice as that will contaminate it), rinse and I'd let the wick dry overnight or blot well. The wick may retain a little bit of the old flavor, but if it's compatible with the new it won't be unpleasant and shouldn't last very long. I've dry burned a few coils but find that you risk getting a burned flavor with the new juice. It doesn't always happen but it does on occasion as per my experience. Normal wear and tear usually doesn't require the gunk to be burned off as long as you're not trying to use a juice that's super high in VG. -
The Spinners are not a "mod" type of battery so the 18650 batteries wouldn't be compatible, if I understand what you're saying correctly. Others here who are more experienced with various mods will be able to give you more information on what other brands would take that type of battery.

1) if I were to get a vv that would fit the batts and charger that I have from the Ego mod, what would anyone recommend? The charger and all of my clearomizers, atomizers, etc. for my eGo 650 pass throughs all work for the Vision Spinners, which are variable voltage. The clearomizers include the Kangor T2, T3, MT3, Vision Nano, Vision Stardust, Vivi Nova Mini as well as 510 cartomizers and atomizers. 2) what is the difference between the ego cone vs a drip shield? Would that, maybe, make a difference in how tight the draw is? (I'm thinking I could maybe salvage the ego mod if I found the right set up for it.) An eGo cone doesn't have the O-rings inside to keep it from leaking. It also lacks the air holes (anywhere from two to four) to prevent a hard draw. If you're going to get a drip shield for your eGo batteries I highly recommend Empire Mods and the ones that say "eGo" in the name/description. Although there are many that will "fit", only the ones with "eGo" in the name cover the battery threads so they don't show.

The lovely thing about drip shields is that it's very forgiving to people who consistently over drip like I do. I can put six drops in and, although it gurgles a little, it vapes for more than just a few hits. When it seems to be going dry I just suck without pushing on the button to draw the excess liquid back into the atomizer so I can continue for several more hits before dripping again. You'll love shopping with Brian and The Veteran Vaper. Anything you need, you just contact him and he's there.

Oops. No. Sorry! I got this thread confused with the direct dripping one. These are direct dripping atomizers. Brian has the 1.8 ohm Vivi Nova coil here: http://www.theveteranvaper.com/vision-vivi-nova-long-wick-replacement-coil/ The Veteran Vaper store is excellent and the customer service is even better! Sorry about the mix up but are you sure you don't want to try direct dripping? You can actually change flavors easier this way.

Okay, let's see if I can do this right. This first pic is (from left to right), Vision Spinner 1300 mAh with Empire Mod drip shield, universal drip tip with a regular drip tip on top. The next two are both Spinners of the 900 mAh and same set up. The blue one is an eGo 650 pass through and same set up. The black drip shield is a new addition from Empire Mods that I just got. This next pic is without the drip shields or drip tips And this one has two drip tips The second from the left's atomizer is a 1.8 ohm 510 atomizer that I got from my local brick and mortar store. All the other atomizers are the Boge 2.0 ohm from Vapelite. As you can see I'm a little partial to the Vision Spinners. I do have a 1100 Twist that I use on the go but prefer the Spinners for direct dripping because I can actually see what volt I'm at without having to go to extreme measures. Oh. And the first two from the left I'm using ECBlend's Feels Like a Nut flavor alternating with their Chocolate Malt, Vanilla Malt and/or Dulce de Leche. The Spinner with the blue drip tip is the blueberry flavor alternating with Strawberry Shortcake. The blue eGo battery is the tropical punch alternating with Dragon's Blood.

I don't see why not. Or you can also get my favorites, the Boge 2.0 ohm atomizer here: http://vapelite.info/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=22_47&products_id=62 That's a bit closer to the 1.8 ohm.

The beauty of direct dripping is that you can use the same atomizer with similar flavors. Right now I'm going between Blueberry and Strawberry Shortcake without having to change anything. There's a little bit of crossover when I change flavors but it's pretty minimal and doesn't last long. Changing between very strong or different flavors can get...interesting. For stronger flavors like coffee, changing to a light fruit flavor gives me a prolonged fruity coffee flavor. Bleh. I keep fruit flavors together, coffee flavors, various bakery flavors in separate atomizers. Hope that helps.

Just keep in mind that you'll want to start low and gradually go up. You might still pop the atty if you're not careful.

When you say you're looking for something that's "really strong", I think you're referring to something that's high in nicotine content and/or PG ratio in your e-liquid. If you've been smoking regular Newports then I would suggest getting a juice at around 24 mg to start. 40 VG/60 PG or something along those lines would probably be good. Just keep in mind the higher the PG, the more "throat hit" you get but less vapor. Higher VG = more vapor but less throat hit. Good luck in finding what works best for you! It's a lot of trial and error for people just starting out and everyone has different favorites.

Starter Kits vs "Custom" Set Ups for a New User
Tam replied to Nawzlew's topic in General Vaping Discussion
The best piece of advice I got from various forum members on this site is: back ups! And back ups of back ups. You never know when your atomizer, cartomizer, clearomizer, etc. is going to stop working. Most of the time mine work for several weeks up to a couple of months depending on how much I use them, but it's best to have another for when you need it. As for cleaning out your carto, it's hard to really get the filler material clean so that your juices don't mix unless you boil them. Youtube has vids for that. For me, it's too much trouble. At this time I have about seven different flavors going in Vision Nano, Vivi Nova Mini, T2, T3, MT3 and Vision Stardusts and just change each onto my battery. -
I've been looking for a really good strawberries and cream juice so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this one. Regardless, I'm very impressed with their service so far. Shortly after I put my order in I got emails that it was processing and right after that, it was showing that they shipped it! I emailed the owner to find out how much of each order is being funneled to Jennifer. As he's attending a vape con in New York I haven't gotten an answer yet.

I didn't...not this time. lol Looks like they still have 9 more in the 2.0 ohm low resistance atties. Like Rixter said I'm very partial to the Boge 2.0 ohm atomizers. Add an Empiremods eGo drip shield and a 510 drip tip and you're in business. These atomizers come with a "drip tip" type of top so you don't need to get a drip tip unless you want to. The tip that comes with this atomizer is pretty good because it doesn't let the juice come back up into your mouth when you take a drag.

The Twist and the Vision Spinner are much the same battery. The main difference I've found is that you can actually *see* the numbers and where the indicator is with the Spinner. I would suggest that. Right now I have one of my Spinners topped with a 1.8 ohm atomizer. I like to start on the lowest setting and gradually up the voltage so I don't pop the atty with a too high voltage right at the beginning. My sweet spot with this particular juice I'm using now is right around 4.3 volts. My two cents. YMMV

Thank you, Lyrical! So far so good. The surgeon is cautiously optimistic that they got it all. We'll know more in six months' time.

Good for you! I just went over and bought a 30 ml bottle of Moo Juice from Mt. Vapor Baker. My mother is recovering from cancer surgery right now. Even though she didn't have breast cancer I know how every little thing helps. How about making a separate post with this information on it? Others might see it more easily that way.

Interesting. According to the search results on Google it says that nicotine stays in the body anywhere from 48 hours to four days or more depending on how much you smoked. I wonder if it's any different with a different delivery system like vaping? Thanks, Ninjabat, for the information.

Let the juices steep for a while and then try again. By steeping, that means to let it sit in a dark place, usually with the cap off so it can breathe. Some of mine take up to a week (or more) of steeping before it tastes like it should. Hope that helps!

Interesting question. I'm going to check with my insurance company to see what the criteria is in order to be classified as a non-smoker. I seem to remember something about you have to have been off cigarettes for at least a year...? But then I'm sure it varies by companies.

Empire Mods has just added two new drip shields specifically made so they hide the threads on an eGo battery. I just ordered one of each.

Would anyone here recommend this set up?

If you want to try washing it that might help it last for a little while longer...or not. Good luck! -

On my Kangor T2, T3 and MT3 I sometimes wash the wicks (and let dry overnight), and that gives it a day or two more. What are you using? -
Hmmm. This is where having several batteries would come in handy. I think I would have one for bakery flavors, another for fruits, another for stronger flavors like coffees... The atties wouldn't be brand new, I would use them a little at home to make sure they all work well. So, did you have fun and find all kinds of different flavors?

The Vision Nanos work just fine on my eGo T, eGo T2, eGo C, eGo Twist, Vision Spinner... Yep. And they're good on toast! Oops. Sorry. Really old joke... -

Yes. Each coil can last anywhere from an hour to several weeks. I'm sorry that I can't be specific, it all depends on each individual coil. There are some coils that have lasted for just a few puffs (thankfully, these are pretty rare), to a couple of months. YMMV. Sorry, but I can't be any more specific than that, which is why it's important to have back ups. And back ups of back ups in case the first back up isn't any good.
