  1. The Veteran Vaper is part of the VT Marketplace...
  2. Aw, man! Now you've gone and made me all hungry...and I just finished eating dinner, darn it!
  3. You really can't go wrong buying from Brian at The Veteran Vaper. He's probably my favorite vendor hands down, the very BEST customer service I've encountered in a long while. The T2s are wonderful, even after trying a bit of everything that comes out (almost), I still go back to the T2 if I'm not direct dripping.
  4. Hey, Troy, come on down south - - there's a little grocery store in Colorado City, it's on the main "strip" through town, you can't miss it - - they have the very BEST catfish at their deli. They cook it fresh when you order.
  5. In my opinion? It might be what's in the liquid and how they extracted that flavor, what it is that's in the thing you're allergic to (if that's part of the flavoring that got extracted and used in the juice), but I'm not a medical professional so please take my next comment as my personal experience only and not a general statement of fact. When I turned 18 I developed an allergy to chocolate, it closes my throat and I have a hard time breathing. Very carefully, I tried some chocolate e-liquids and have found some I can vape. Your mileage may vary. I'd be very careful if you're going to try it, keep an epi pen close at hand...
  6. When trying out a new vendor I only buy one or two things to see if 1.) the products are as they're described and actually work and 2.) they have good/decent customer service. Now that I've been around a bit I know who to buy from and who to avoid. I'm really liking Vapor Talk's market where you can buy things from different vendors but they're all in one place. To paraphrase what bcartervol98 said, if it sounds too good to be true... I'd rather spend a little more and get a quality product from a known and tried vendor. Sorry you had such a bad experience with this one.
  7. Um...sort of. There's a tiny bit of wick inside the bridgeless atomizer, do you remove that, too?
  8. Thanks, Jeff. And good morning to you!
  9. The places that I buy from all use either food grade flavoring that's already out there in things we eat or extract the flavors themselves. If she's concerned she might want to try something from Virgin Vapor. Link is here to their FAQ page where they tell you what's in their juice: http://www.virginvapor.com/pages/frequently-asked-questions
  10. Not always but there are some times when I know what I'm talking about. Those are when should be listened to. Other times? Maybe not so much. I always thought eGo was a brand name that's also used as a way to describe the thread type. I could be wrong.... Any long time veteran vapers want to chime in on this?
  11. I've removed bridges and wicks before, Mike. And I did it successfully, much to my surprise. While I see the advantages of removing the bridge, I'm very curious what the difference would be in removing the wicks. *runs to get tweezers to experiment on wick removal*
  12. Oops! Thanks, Kitsune, for the correction. I thought about the 901 but thought I got it right. :-P Hey, I have a question. Why remove the wick fibers in the atty?
  13. Some atomizers have bridges, some of them are wider than others while some don't have bridges at all (bridgeless). I think it's just a matter of personal preference. I started out with Joytech 510 1.8 ohm atomizers. You can get those from the Vapor Talk Market here at a very reasonable price. RBA stands for ReBuildable Atomizers, these are ones you can rebuild. Not something I'd recommend to a new vapor, however. Maybe later when you're more used to direct dripping? When you get the atomizer, you'll notice an oily liquid inside the package/bag it comes in. Take the atty out, wipe it down, blow into the opening (make sure you put a tissue lightly over the end that screws into the battery), and you'll get some liquid out. I always do this to get the liquid out -- I think it's just VG to keep things from drying out too much -- and then I put some tissue into the atty for a while so it soaks up the rest. Then, once that's done I put it on the battery, and the first time out you'll need between four and six drops of juice, wait 30 seconds for it to prime and vape. You'll get around four draws the first time around before you need more liquid. You'll taste a metallic, icky flavor that's the indicator you need more juice. Then, put in about 2 - 3 more drops and vape. Once I get past the first time, I usually only use two drops at a time after. http://vaportalk.com/marketplace/joye-510-atomizer-clone.html There. I'd go with the regular resistence, that's usually around 2.0 - 2.2 ohm if I remember correctly. The 1.5 ohm runs much hotter.
  14. Just came in the mail: 29 bridgeless Smoktech 2.0 atomizers from Mt. Baker Vapor. They threw in a bottle of Johnny Chimpo e-liquid but I have no idea what flavor that is -- it's not listed on their website. Waiting on an order from The Veteran Vapor right now. It should be here soon-ish.
  15. All atomizers are "compatible" with direct dripping, but not all atomizers are compatible with your battery. You can get adapters for them, though. That said, if you're using an eGo type of battery or Vision Spinners, the 510 (not the 510-T because that's different from what you're wanting), 901s and 306s will fit without having to get an adapter. Since you're just starting out I would recommend you go with a 510 atty. You can change flavors but I would also suggest that you go with one type of flavor per atomizer. Fruit flavors in one, bakery flavors in another, stronger flavors like coffee in still another different atty. Each flavor will linger for a while even after you put a different flavor in, which is why, although you can change flavors much easier than when using a clearomizer, you don't want to taste something like coffee, blueberry cheese cake, menthol tobacco, peanut butter all at the same time...or maybe you might like it.
  16. I'd go with the first kit with the Vision Spinners and then with either the EVODs or T3s, either one is very good in my opinion. The others I'm not so wild about, but you can't go wrong with the Spinners. The EVODs and T3s are easy to use, especially for someone new to vaping. Then, I'd go with a 24 mg of nicotine liquid since you're trying to get off analogs. You can cut back on the nicotine later when you no longer crave regular cigarettes. Common rule of thumb goes: 24 mg = full flavor cigarettes like Marlboro Reds 12 mg = light flavor like Marlboro Lights 6 mg = ultra lights Those are just round about figures but it gives you a place to start. Good luck, I'm sure you'll fall in love with vaping like the rest of us have!
  17. In my Vapeonly BCC, there's mojito flavor from my local brick and mortar store. It's one of the first e-liquids I tried and I still like it for when I'm driving and can't direct drip. On my other Spinners I have atomizers going with Feels Like a Nut in all of them except one. I'm kinda stuck on this Almond Joy tasting juice, it's been my all day/all night vape for several months now. In my "juice" atomizer I've been going with cranberry, America (it's a mix of different berries), Melonade, blueberry, and Sweet Dawn. Thankfully, with direct dripping I can change flavors on the fly!
  18. Whatever atomizer, clearomizer, cartomizer you're using isn't wicking juice fast enough would be my guess. When you put it down for a few minutes that gives it time to rewet the wick.
  19. Heeeey, that's a good idea. One Dirty Whiskey on the rocks coming up. Just found my happy place. Cheers!
  20. Got the VapeOnly BCC Mini some time ago from my local brick and mortar store and finally broke it out today to try. The Youtube review below is right on the money! It's amazing. Sorry, I had a brain fart today and can't figure out how to embed the video. If you click on the link it'll take you there, though. The nice thing about it is that it's a bottom coil, it wicks very well with tons of vapor (I use 50 VG/50 PG), and if you don't care for the stock tip, you can use your own favorite 510 drip tip instead! The skirt around the bottom hides the threads nicely on my Vision Spinners and eGo Twist. No adapters necessary for these two types of batteries. I think I may need to get a couple more of these. http://youtu.be/vbALw0lyTls
  21. Ha! You would only have to put the meat outside and it'll get plenty smoked today. We've got so much smoke around here that it's hard to see across the street.
  22. EC Blends is my favorite place for e-liquids! I've been buying from them for a long time now. Their customer service is beyond excellent and the way they let you customize all their premade juices is wonderful. The make your own is great, too. I really like how they seal the bottles into two different bags for shipping.

    Hi

Troy, you're silly. 'Tam' isn't infallable, she's just giving voice to what works best for her and what she's learned through trial and error as well as passing on some really good advice she got here at VT. Smokeless, direct dripping isn't for everyone, and it's probably something you'll want to try later when you're more comfortable with vaping. With someone who's new to all this I'd recommend a clearomizer. Like Troy said, maybe a Kangor T2, Vivi Nova, Vivi Nova mini and/or a Pro Tank. I would most definitely recommend a Vision Spinner variable voltage battery for you. The above clearos will fit on that as well as so many others without having to get an adapter to make it fit. If you can wait a day or two I'd wait for the Vapor Talk Market to open -- it's opening tomorrow! Then, you can have one-stop shopping from all kinds of different vendors all in one place like what you get with Amazon. Just be aware that with different vendors also comes multiple shipping charges but you'd wind up with that anyway when you shop to get all kinds of things. If you don't want to wait, then I'd do the majority of my shopping with Brian at The Veteran Vaper. I've never had a problem with his store, the products are top quality and his customer service is even better. Everyone I've ever recommended to him has always been more than happy. Good luck to you with your new start!
