  1. Good to know. I'll go with a lower gauge wire along with the 32 gauge for the KPT coils. Thanks for the clarification, Medic.
  2. Thanks for all the information, Medic! I really appreciate you taking the time to write one out that's so comprehensive. I do want to make one correction, though. The bigger the number on the gauge, the smaller the size of wire. This would mean that the 27 or 30 gauge wire is bigger around (diameter) than the 32 gauge I'll be getting for the KPT coils. ETA: Now I'm starting to second guess what I thought I knew. Is the measurement of gauge different with the type of wire that's used in rebuilding coils? I was always taught that bigger gauge = smaller wire diameter. Now I'm all confused.
  3. I've been keeping tabs on the Denver area and thought of you, Troy. Hope you're doing okay. Stay safe and dry!
  4. Since I was way off topic in a different thread I moved it over here to discuss rebuilding coils and what materials to use. What I'm interested in is the difference between traditional round wire versus a ribbon wire. Also, what size ribbon should I get? What's comparable to a 32 gauge? I'll be ordering 32 gauge to redo my coils for the Davide minis but need to get smaller wire for my RBA Eternity. 34 gauge seems to be the smallest I'm finding so far. Anyone know where to get a Kanthal 36 or 38 gauge? Do they even sell them that small? Thanks in advance for any and all answers, even new questions are welcome.
  5. You know what, Medic? So I don't put this thread more off topic than it already is I'll start a new thread and, if it's okay, will pick your brain there.
  6. I think it's between 4 - 6 ml? I change flavors quite a bit during the day so I can't be sure of an exact amount.
  7. Do they have to be Chinese nail clippers? I'm thinking a pair of full jaw cuticle nippers might also work there. Anyway, great pic tutorial, Rix. This will make my foray into coil rebuilding that much easier. Thanks!
  8. You probably also don't have arthritis in your fingers and knuckles. Lol. I developed this lovely thing when I was 18...
  9. The needle tips are fine, I have no problem with them. It's the darned cap that gave me fits. I had to use scissors to get the thing off and nearly cut myself breaking the seal.
  10. Put the cap on the bottle, put bottle into baggie, put baggie into hot water. The baggie is only so the label on the bottle doesn't get wet. If you don't care, then you can just put the bottle in the water directly. I usually let it sit until the water cools, vape it, if it tastes good/better, then I call it good. If it needs to steep more, then I get more hot water (not boiling), and do it again. It doesn't always work, though. There are some juices that only steep well with time. YMMV.
  11. The Unicorn Blood... OMG. I can't put it down now that I filled up the Davide mini with it. As much as I'm liking Fuzion's juices I can't say the same about their bottle caps. I've got arthritis in my fingers and could barely get them open. Will be transferring them into glass bottles shortly. Once I can tear myself away from the Unicorn Blood for a bit I'll be trying the OrangeZilla.
  12. Have you tried the ribbon wire, Rix? Or heard about anyone who uses it? I'll probably order the 32 gauge and the 34. The 32 is too big to fit into my Vision Eternity RBA so I'm hoping the 34 might but I'm curious about the ribbon one...
  13. The "put it into a ziplock baggie, get as much air out, put into very hot water and let sit" method of steeping has worked for me.
  14. The first place I'll tell you to go is Brian's store, The Veteran Vaper. You can get to it via the Vapor Talk Marketplace. Brian carries the 1300 mAh in black and chrome. You'll be hard pressed to find better customer service from other vendors. http://vaportalk.com/marketplace/vision-spinner-1300mah-variable-voltage-battery.html Another place, if you want more color choices. is Gotvapes.com. I got quite a few of mine from here: http://www.gotvapes.com/index.php?zenid=bdea1c6afc3977464dda34e7861fe89c&main_page=advanced_search_result&x=0&y=0&keyword=spinner&dfrom=mm%2Fdd%2Fyyyy&dto=mm%2Fdd%2Fyyyy And I'm thinking of getting one more 1300 mAh now because I've finally started truly appreciating the longer charge it holds.
  15. Unicorn Blood in a Davide mini with 2.2 ohm coil. Threw the coil that came inside the tank into my pile that I plan to rebuild later. The Unicorn Blood from Fuzion tastes much better in the Davide than it did when I dripped it for some odd reason. I think the flavor was too intense when dripping, and the Davide mutes it just enough to make it taste good -- if that makes any sense.
  16. Thanks, Rixter, I get it now. And this gives you 1.8 ohm? So, if I wanted a 2.0 or 2.2 ohm coil, I'd just have to put another wrap or two into it? Also, does it make a difference if you wrap the wire closer together?
  17. As in four loops on top and three on the bottom/underneath part of the wick/coil?
  18. How do you put three loops in the inside of a wick? Or am I confusing something?
  19. My order of juices from Fuzion Vapers came in today and I'm vaping Fruit Blend #357. I still can't pin down what this reminds me of other than it's a fruit juice from my childhood with a hint of pear -- maybe a little more than a hint of pear. There's also a berry flavor in there, too, and maybe a little melon.... Whatever it is, I rather like it. As I'm direct dripping this I might try it in a Davide mini to see if that changes the flavor a bit. Will be dripping the Unicorn Blood soon-ish. Then, the Orangezilla is next on the list.
  20. Go ahead, Troy. Let it all out. You know you wanna...
  21. Hand over your credit card and I'll totally rock your world!
  22. See how good it feels when I spend your money?
