  1. Why yes, why do you ask? Although, in retrospect, I probably should've rinsed it out before using, it makes my juices taste funny...
  2. Why don't you just get a bottle of sweetener and add a few drops to your liquid? That way, when you find a juice you like but it's not sweet enough, you don't have to look anywhere else. That's what I do anyway.
  3. Mine are the custom HH.357 spec Hybrid versions at 2.0 ohm from the Avid Vaper at $24.99 each. I now have five of them in my arsenal. They are by far the very best atomizers I have ever tried and I've tried quite a few. The difference in draw, flavor, vapor, and just overall performance runs circles around any atomizer I've used in the past. Just recently I tried one of the others and it just didn't do it for me anymore. The price is much higher than others, I agree, but to me it's more than worth it. After trying these -- even if it cost double the price -- I'd still buy them. They're that good. Some people might not like them because there is a learning curve to using them and it takes a day or so to properly break them in. If you follow the directions on their site, it gives phenomenal performance and more than the bang for your buck, IMO. ETA: Also, on their site they say never to dry burn these. I vape dark, sweet juices, which gunks up the coil inside faster than other juices. When two of mine were no longer working like they should and cleaning them per their instructions by soaking in vodka (I only use premium vodka for this), wasn't helping I contacted them. They offer a service for between $5 - $10 for five atomizers to check into it and rebuild if necessary. That's very reasonable for something that is said to last nearly a year or more vs. an atomizer that only lasts a few weeks at most and then you throw it away.
  4. Did you know that PG is used inside asthma inhalers? Vaping might actually be good for what ails you.
  5. Started out with an eGo T 650 pass through with a CE4. That led to more of them and some Kangor T2s and then an eGo T Twist 1100 mAh. That led to my 900 Vision Spinner (four of them now) and that led to the 1300 mAh (three total so far). I'm looking pretty hard at an Evic -- that should be joining my collection soon-ish. There are now too many tanks, clearomizers and atomizers to name here. But my go-to set up is the HH.357 atomizer in 2.0 ohm for dripping and Anyvape Davide minis for when I'm on the go.
  6. Thanks for the pic, it's easier to understand when I can actually see it.
  7. Like Bebop said, click five times. You can tell if it's on by clicking once. The button should light up when the button is pushed down. If it doesn't that means your battery is off.
  8. I'm glad you're keeping on top of things and that you're doing so well.
  9. For the most part the biggest indicator to me is the slight burning taste. It could also be when the juice feels harsh when you take a draw. Then, you dial it back to where it tastes and feels best for you. As with any vendor, not everything they sell is going to work right. When I've had that experience with Brian, he moves on it right away. I've never had a bad experience with him, and I try to buy as much as I can from him because of it. Everyone I've recommended Brian's store to has come back with raving reviews about his customer service. He's also a forum member, although he's not on here much because he's focusing his time on his customers.
  10. It could be the battery or it could be the charger itself. Contact Brian at The Veteran Vaper, he'll take care of it. His customer service is excellent so you should get a very satisfactory resolution quickly. Here's a tip for charging: even if you're using an AC adapter, never leave it to charge unattended. Even though the AC adapter is a safer choice, they're still batteries, and safer is always better. As for coils and voltages, it all depends on the juice and your delivery system. Some juices taste better at higher voltages while others need less. Start at the lowest voltage and vape. Go a little higher, try it again. Once you taste a slight burning flavor, back it up a bit and you'll have found your "sweet spot." That's the only way you'll know. Unfortunately, it's not something anyone else can tell you as everyone tastes juices differently. Good luck with your battery and charger. I'm sure you'll be happy with the way Brian does business. Because nearly everything that we buy for vaping is coming from China, and their quality control is not consistent, these things sometimes happen.
  11. Which single coil RDA would you recommend to a newbie to RDAs?
  12. Well, there's one problem right here. You're vaping one flavor too long. I'll go at most an hour per flavor before switching to something else. You also don't mention what flavors you're vaping. If they're too close together -- say two bakery flavors or two fruit flavors -- you need to make a change like go bakery then go fruit then go to something like mint, peppermint, just anything that's drastically different. That should help out. Do you brush your tongue? I find that also helps if you get the plaque off. If you're going to use mouthwash, get the one without alcohol. That tingly feeling it leaves? It's wreaking havoc on your taste buds. Last but not least: you're still healing from the cigars and such. Give yourself a break. Things are going to be changing for you for some time. This is why you see veteran vapers talking about different juices and different flavors from various vendors. Our taste buds change and flavors we loved at first just don't do it for us anymore. Or we can't taste them as well as we did when we first "discovered" the best flavor ever! After some time has passed we might go back to it, but we're all constantly on the look-out for our new favorite juice.
  13. Ugh. While I still sorta like my Vision Eternity RDA, I'll tell you to stay away from them, Troy. Just like all the other Vision products, I just discovered that if left alone for a bit -- the damned things leak. Argh!
  14. I order so much from Amazon that I got a Prime account several years ago and love it. I've never ordered e-cig stuff from them but I have ordered so many other things. Returns are no problem and their customer service has always been great.
  15. Their customer service is one of the best I've tried. I never worry when ordering from them. Rixter got me hooked on their chocolate malt, extra flavor. It's still one of my favorites today.
  16. I used what I think is a 3 - 3.5 mm silica wick with a nichrome wire. The wire doesn't specify a gauge but I'm going to guess it's around 34 - 36 as it's very, very thin. The wrap is 5 on top, 4 on the bottom. Once I have this down for rebuilding the KPT coils I think my next round will be a micro coil...
  17. Just an FYI: the 650 mAh battery should only take 2 - 3 hours to charge. Also, get yourself an AC adapter for your charger, it's safer. The USB charger doesn't have the safety features that an AC adapter does. You don't want to fry your computer charging your ecig.
  18. You're sweet, Troy, but I'm not always spot on. I just try to give explanations of what works/worked for me.
  19. Congrats on getting your first kit. You can't go wrong with buying from Brian at The Veteran Vaper. His customer service is excellent! You'll be experimenting plenty with different flavors of juice. No one can tell you what you're going to like as juice is very subjective and will depend on your taste buds. As you get away from analogs (cigarettes), you'll notice your preferences changing. Don't worry if you still smoke while you're switching over to vaping, it's not an all or nothing kind of thing. You'll get there eventually -- at your own pace. Leaving that stressor behind was one of the things that helped me the most when I quit smoking. Also, vaping is not like smoking. Take a hit, hold in your mouth for a sec and then inhale. Exhale through your mouth and nose. When your taste buds heal a little you'll be better able to taste the flavor this way. Good luck!
  20. Here's an e-juice calculator link: http://www.todmuller.com/ejuice/ejuice.php Hope that helps?
  21. Two more custom HH.357 hybrid spec atomizers at 2.0 ohms just got here. Right in time so I can send the other two to be cleaned/rebuilt to get the gunk from overly sweet and dark juices out.
  22. Good for you, Jeff. I hope your screen comes back clean.
  23. While I can't say that Fuzion's juices blow me away like bcarter, I will say that OrangeZilla is very good, especially with a couple of drops of sweetener added. I'm also vaping OrangeZilla right now through a Davide mini. Will need to get more of this sometime soon.
  24. This topic is interesting for me because I want to see what people on the forum say. It might give me some recs to new RBAs that I might want to try.
  25. RDA because I prefer direct dripping. I'm still new to these but I'm looking around. I don't care for how big around the tanks are on RBAs -- for now. I use Vision Spinners and the huge tanks make my set up top heavy. Once I get into a mod, that might change...
