I hated my KPT3 until I got rid of the dual coil and put in a single coil instead. That essentially made it into a KPT2 for all intents and purposes. Now I like it just fine...

What do you mean when you say, "drip mod"?

I, too, prefer the short barrel, but don't like juice spitting into my mouth. That's why I get the extra long drip tips. They work great and no juice comes up.

It's perfect for the 357 so you can "drip and drive" without having to drip per se. You just screw it on your battery, screw the 357 on that. When your atomizer needs more juice, you turn it upside down, give the bottle a little squeeze and you're good to vape while driving.

Why would you recommend a KPT2 before heading into cartomizer territory?

FastTech is shipping from China so just be aware that the Chinese New Year is quickly approaching. Business comes to a full stop for this holiday so shipping will be delayed even more than what it usually is for this company. If I remember correctly they celebrate for at least a week if not a little longer.

"Clear" is relative. They can also come in different colors but you can see inside to gauge how much juice is in there. Clearomizers can be top or bottom coil. The type of atomizers used for direct dripping are different from clearomizers.

The ones you ordered from Empire Mods are 1 3/4". I have quite a few of those in all different colors but prefer the stainless steel for comfort. The extra long stainless steel that I bought recently, the E style one is 2 1/2", it's very long but I LOVE the mouth piece, it's very narrow and very comfortable once I got used to it.

I don't understand what you're talking about when you say the "top piece"? Do you mean the drip tip? If so, that's normal and nothing to pay any attention to. If you're talking about something else would you take a picture of the piece you're talking about and post it?

Atomizers come with primer inside, it's fine but might mute the flavor a bit until you vape the primer out of the wick. Periodically try turning the voltage down, you might still get the taste and vapor with less voltage once the primer is gone. Might give you longer lasting atomizers that way.

Make sure you're getting genuine Kanger atomizers coils because the knock offs are notorious for being problematic and not working well and/or leaking. If you buy the bridged direct drip atomizers you can debridge them once they don't work as well to give them a little more time. You can also buy the atomizers already debridged (bridgeless). Both bridged and debridged atomizers to "truly" direct drip. The connector is at the top of the battery where you "connect" the battery to your Aspire. It looks a little like a cup with threads either on the inside, outside or both. Liquid can accumulate inside of that so you need to dab it out with some tissue, paper towel or Q-tip periodically. That will get the gurgle out as well as keeping your battery connection clean. Be careful not to push too hard when doing this so you don't push the center connection pin down.

That's only one thread on the HH357 that we have here on VT. If you scroll to the top of this page and click on the little magnifying glass next to "Our Store", put in HH357 and several threads will come up. Like Wizard said above, if you're not already a dripper I wouldn't recommend you start with these. Even for experienced drippers there's still a pretty good learning curve. If you're not familiar, you won't know how to troubleshoot if/when you run into hiccups. $21 - $25 (depending on whether you get the regular or custom built ones), that's pretty expensive to start learning on. I'd suggest getting a regular bridged or bridgeless 510 atty to start. If you decide you like to direct drip, then go for the HH357. I drip exclusively on the custom at 2.0 ohms when I'm not driving.

Because of the shape of the VTR it doesn't feel at all heavy to me anymore. At first it was a surprise but I've gotten used to it.

My recommendation would be to get a Vision Spinner battery, a brand name charger and AC adapter. This is a simple variable voltage device. Add a Kanger Pro Tank 2 (or the mini version) or an Anyvape Davide (this also has a mini version) with some KPT (Kanger Pro Tank) coils. The ohm of the coil depends on what you like. I prefer a 1.8 ohm (lower resistance). Get some juice in a 50 PG/50 VG blend, your choice of nicotine percentage, which depends on how much you smoked so you can mimic the nic level at first. Get to know about all of the things I've recommended above. Then, you can venture into building your own coils, RBAs, RDAs, etc. Don't try to build an airplane before you learn how to ride a bicycle. The reason you cough could be that the throat hit is too harsh. This can be caused by too high a nic level, too much PG, too high a voltage on your atomizer, etc. It could also be that you need to take a draw into your mouth first, wait a split second and then inhale the vapor. See? These are just a tiny bit of what you need to learn before you try to build your own mod.

If you're not familiar with e-smoking e-cigarettes or vaping, I wouldn't recommend you try to build your own mod just yet. You don't have any point of reference in what you want, what you need, the safety precautions you should take... You won't even know if it's really working right. How much electronic knowledge do you have? That's pretty important as well. Read the threads on this forum, ask questions, get into vaping with some basic gear first to learn about vaping (we don't like to call it anything-smoking because of the negative connotations associated with that). I always vape a 50/50 blend. Many others use 60 PG/40 VG. It's mostly what works for you but might be worth a try. More PG = more throat hit, thinner juice More VG = smoother vape, slightly sweeter juice (you could always add sweetener for this, too), THICKER juice, more vapor
