  1. The spray mist bottle is a great idea. Will have to try it on my next long drive. Before too much longer I'm going to need to make a trip down to Durango, that idea might come in handy to keep me alert. Thanks!
  2. So when you're driving late at night, what do you do to stay awake? I remember taking 10 hour shifts behind the wheel when we went from Southern Colorado to Fairbanks, Alaska in three days two weeks after I got my first license. White line fever was pretty intense.
  3. That's what started happening in the late 70s when we all got out. Step-dad was a lifer in the Navy so I grew up around sailors. I have quite the vocabulary and can make a sailor blush myself if I set my mind to it. Due to my position at work I try not to use those words anymore, it's just not appropriate...even when it would be appropriate if you get my meaning. I'll never forget the shock I got the first time I walked into a Marine enlisted club. Every Marine was instantly on his feet and someone shouted, "lady in the room." Even though the place was packed with men and I was the only woman there (other than my friend who was bartending), every chair in the room was offered to me when I walked in. That certainly made an impression I'll never forget. I never saw anything like it in the Navy enlisted club or even the Chief's club or the Officer's club.
  4. My step-dad got into the CB craze back in the 70s when everyone was getting on the bandwagon. I remember getting dragged to his CB club's meetings. We had a huge home base set up. That was in the old days when even the CB club members were helpful and learned how to use the thing responsibly and were a help to truckers. A few years and bad trucker movies later and we got out when the airways were taken over by the wanna be's. I'm not surprised to see they're still there.
  5. That's interesting. See? I know a little (very little), about a lot of things. It's usually just enough to get me into trouble and/or to rouse my insatiable curiosity. Lol.
  6. Wow. Well that sucks, yet it's good that drivers are rested properly? Since you work for a company you have people who map out your routes for you, right? To make sure the bridges you go under are tall enough for your trailers and everything? Or do you have to do that yourself?
  7. How many hours is it legal for one driver to go before you reach your limit for the day? I know that most independent truckers don't like the lower limits imposed since it costs them money should their load be late.
  8. Thanks, I really appreciate it, Josh! I love learning new things.
  9. Yeah, I know most companies don't allow passengers due to liability and insurance issues. If given the opportunity I'd love to learn more, though.
  10. I'd take you up on that if you could take a passenger.
  11. Wow. You've learned so much so fast! It's hard to believe you've only been vaping for three months, yet that's a great accomplishment. I'm looking forward to May 10th when I first picked up an e-cig and May 15th when I totally quit smoking. That will be my two years' anniversary. It's coming along...
  12. Congrats, Josh! Good luck hitting your goal. You'll let us know when you do, right?
  13. When I'm not direct dripping I use an Anyvape Davide, Anyvape Davide mini, Kanger Pro Tank 2 or a Kanger Pro Tank 3 with a single coil. These are all bottom coil (the heating element is at the bottom of the tank instead of at the top) units with Pyrex glass tanks. The advantage of using something with a glass tank is that you can use any flavor of juice without worrying about the flavor cracking the tank. With plastic tanks you'll need to be careful with a juice that's high in citric acid, mint, or cinnamon because those are known to crack plastic. The downside of a glass tank is that you do have to be aware that it's glass and will break if you knock it hard against something or drop it. Everyone has their favorites, it's just like e-liquids. What tastes great to one person will taste terrible to another. You just have to try it to see if it works for you.
  14. More nic will create a stronger throat hit, I've not seen much affect on flavor, personally. You could always go with an extra shot of flavor if you find the increased nic to decrease flavor too much. As a former pack a day smoker I started with 24 mg of nic to get completely off the analogs. Once I no longer craved them I went down to 18 for a very short while and now I'm mostly at 12 -- sometimes 6 mg. It's going to take a little time but you'll get there.
  15. And this is exactly why we tell "noobs" to start simple before moving on to mods. There's a learning curve to e-cigs so it's best to learn the basics first. If you wanted to learn how to ride a bicycle you wouldn't start out with a jet first, right? I'd go with a Vision Spinner battery. It's variable voltage so you can grow with it. It's got enough oomph to keep you happy for a good long while. Even with my mods I still use my Spinners on a daily basis even after vaping almost two years now.
  16. Happy birthday, Rixter! So, you've just hit the big 21, right?
  17. That's irritating whether you're driving a big truck or a regular passenger vehicle. Much like when you're on a two lane road and you've got two idiots both driving below the speed limit side by side with no way to pass them. Argh!
  18. Exactly! Because if you questioned her advice, she wouldn't be able to explain herself anyway.
  19. Fadora and Flatline both make wonderfully delicious juices. Their customer service is also Oops. Sorry. Wrong emoticon. Meant to put
  20. Six more Custom HH.357s at 2.0 ohm just made it to my front door.
  21. From my personal experience I was coughing out all kinds of gunk when I first switched over. It went away with a little time. It could be that or you've caught a cold...
  22. When you get off the analogs your body is going to go through lots of changes with the detox from the 4000+ carcinogenics. Also, did you increase your intake of water? Even now if I let my throat go dry I start coughing. Taking a drink of water, usually several long sips will get rid of the cough.
  23. Ha! I'm just conditioning you guys so I can pull an outrageous request and you'll do it without question. It's all a part of my quest for world domination. Mwahahahaha!
  24. If you had a KPT2 then I'd suggest getting an Anyvape Davide or a David mini. They use the same coils. I love the Davide mini (a little hard to fill because the fill holes are smaller), but it gives me wonderful performance and vapor -- depending on the PG/VG ratio of your juice. Too much PG and you won't get much vapor. Too much VG and it gunks up coils faster. That's just my two cents.
  25. I'm not perfect and not all of my recommendations will work for you because vaping is a very personal thing. I only rec the things I've tried that worked for me. The rest is all about you and what works for you. Glad to know that the recs so far are doing well. Here's some recs for juices. Go check out EC Blends. You can get 5 ml bottles of juices for around $2.50 a bottle (prices go up as you add stuff). This way you can go a little nuts on flavors and try all different kinds to see what you like. Most need to sit (it's called steeping) for around 5 days or more depending on the juice. Some fruit flavors are good right out of the mail. They will get better with time, though. Start with 50PG/50VG to start. It's a good middle of the road until you're more experienced and figure out what you like. The nic is up to you but here's a rough estimate of mg to what you used to smoke. 24 mg nic = full flavor like Marlboro Reds 12 mg nic = lights 6 mg nic = ultra lights Good luck!
