  1. Nah, we all want the same thing for new vapers: help them along to a healthier lifestyle just like someone else helped us when we first started. It's all good.
  2. I'm not Bebop, but will I do? Evod: http://www.theveteranvaper.com/evod-mt-bcc-metal-bottom-coil-changeable/ T3S: http://www.theveteranvaper.com/t3s-bcc-bottom-coil-changeable/ KPT2 mini: http://www.theveteranvaper.com/kanger-mini-protank-ii-bcc/ Replacement coils ($1.65 each): http://www.theveteranvaper.com/t3s-mt3s-replacement-coils/ The reason you want more than one anything is you must have back ups. And back ups of back ups. As for more than one battery (we all usually suggest a minimum of two if not more), is that you have something to do for the several hours it takes for a drained battery to charge. Also, what if something happens and your battery breaks? What about something goes wrong with your tank and you have no back up so you have to wait several days for the mail or drive to the B&M that happens to be several hours away? On the convenience side, it's nice to have more than one battery and one tank filled with different flavors. When I can no longer taste a flavor due to vaping it too long, I just pick up another battery with a different tank and flavor and vape away.
  3. You might want to start a new thread for this different topic, you're likely to get more answers there. At 194 pages your question is likely to be buried here in the "Bump when you get something new" thread.
  4. Three more HH.357 atomizers in 1.5 ohm non-custom this time. Trying something new-ish.
  5. Just ordered this after messing up coil after coil. Something like this is bound to make building coils a little easier, especially since I can't seem to master the sprouting of extra hands... Thanks for the heads up!
  6. I think he's spending some quality time with the goat...
  7. Tam may have bought a torch but she still hasn't been able to fill the damned thing with Butane. Lol! The can hates me and is fighting back. You're all safe at the moment. Eventually, if I ever get the thing filled I'll be sure to give you guys warning so you can duck and cover...
  8. Yes! to all of the above made suggestions. I was a pack a day Marlboro Light smoker for more years than I want to admit to now. When I first started it was with 24 mg of nicotine. That's what got me over the hump and off the analogs. After I put the analogs behind me for a few weeks I dropped it down to 18 and more quickly dropped it down even further to 12, sometimes 6 mg of nicotine. YMMV.
  9. Let's see... I believe most of us agree that we like Kanger Pro Tank 2s but the coils have been iffy lately as far as quality is concerned. The KPT3 (dual coil), is pretty good. We also agree that the first batch of dual coils sucked but after redesign -- they suck less. It's still probably a better bet to use the single coils on them and make them into a KPT2 instead. We're still recommending Vision Spinners or eGo Twists to our noobs, half of which don't listen and go buy an advanced mod that they can't figure out how to use and then argue with veteran vapers about how it operates and then wind up taking our first suggestion to buy a Vision Spinner or an eGo Twist. These usually go away fairly quickly. Those noobs who do listen and ask intelligent questions and know how to actually spell out words instead of using text speeeeek 2 try 2 meke u c there pnt -- stick around and add to the community. We have a fair number of really great new members now. Also, we're still trying to impress upon the noobs that there really isn't a "best" out there, just a what's "best" for you. I think they think we're lying to them and not giving up our precious intel about the best tank, the best battery/mod, the best juice, the best American made nicotine, the best throat hit, etc. Lather, rinse, repeat. Did I leave anything else out, guys and gals? I think I hit the main points. ETA: Oh! And just so you know, Blu, I've finally got the hang of direct dripping and have brought a few of our new members into the fold. Thanks for all your help when I was just starting. Now, I'm working on building my own coils.
  10. I'll try nearly any vendor once for juice. If they add food coloring they don't get my repeat business.
  11. I especially like all the info you give about ohms, how the ohms will decrease as you add more nano coils, etc. That's very good information for me at this point. Right now I'm still working on a single nano coil and getting it so the vapor doesn't try to remove my tonsils from the harshness. Lol.
  12. Cool vid, although it's way too advanced for where I'm at right now.
  13. I always recommend Vision Spinners to people new to vaping. The Veteran Vaper is the store to get them. Brian, the owner, answers all kinds of questions, he give excellent customer service and the price for the 1300 Vision Spinner is lower than many other places. Be sure to get the charger and an AC adapter with it, too!
  14. While I love the mojito flavor from a local B&M, the owner/mixer uses food coloring in his juices so I have him custom make mine without. If it doesn't need to be there I'd rather not have it.
  15. Thanks for the rec. I've watched several of Rip Trippers vids, guess I'll be watching a few more.
  16. No, but I probably should to see if that'll make a difference. I must admit that I've been pretty frustrated with the lack of performance so I've really not done anything with it. My bad there. When it was on sale I picked up a reel of 500 ft. of Kanthal. Now I'm glad I did so I have plenty to practice with! Lots and lots of practice is in my near future. Do you have a favorite youtube vid that helped you get this right?
  17. Okay, I think I'm on coil #7 or #8 now. This one is a nano coil at 7 winds around metering out at 2.2 ohm. The last one was at 4.0 ohm. Oops. Using the hated Evic I've got it set at 3.8 volts and the vape isn't as harsh, it's almost palatable. Still not as smooth as I'd like but it's getting there. More practice is needed. Isn't this where I throw myself on the floor and have a tantrum because it's soooo haaaarrrrrdddd! Everything should be easy with no effort on my part. *blows raspberries*
  18. We all had to start somewhere.
  19. It will but you might run into dry hits and gunked up coils. The more VG in a juice, the thicker it is -- usually, and that will make it hard for a wick to absorb easily thus the dry hits. There are some 100% VG juices that are not so thick but that's fairly rare.
  20. A twenty pound sledge would be good. The SO's brother-in-law just offered me a quarter stick. Even that much is probably overkill. *sighs*
  21. Yeah. I'll get it, it's just going to take a bunch more practice and trial and error. Either that or I'll beat it into submission, whichever comes first.
  22. Here's a thought. Forget getting throat hit from juices. Get yourself an RDA and let me build a coil for you. Man, have I got some harsh throat hit for you!
  23. If you're going to go cloud chasing you'll want to get an RDA and learn how to build your own coils...
  24. Go you! Congrats on a huge accomplishment. May you see many more!
  25. Believe me, if you lived closer I'd be all over you to do it for me. It's the "get it lined up just right" part that's giving me problems. The "jam it down and hold it" isn't the problem. Lol.
