  1. Reading comprehension doesn't seem to be a strong point in this one.
  2. You just peaked my curiosity so I got out the very second battery I ever bought: an eGo 650 passthrough. Popped a Davide mini on it and...it works like a charm! This one was bought nearly two years ago. ETA: How strange. My Davide mini works better -- as in I'm getting a better draw, more vapor, better flavor -- than on my Vision Spinners. Huh. Sometimes it's best to go back to the simpler things.
  3. For all my Anyvape Davide minis on Vision Spinners I use 1.8 ohm coils exclusively. Also in the full sized Davide and Kanger Pro Tank 2 I use the 1.8 ohm coils. For the full sized Davide on my iTaste VTR mod I use 2.5 ohm coils but prefer the 1.8 personally. If you like it, that's what you should use. Don't let anyone tell you that it's wrong or to use something else when it's what works best for you.
  4. My mother was a pack a day smoker for over 40 years. Today she's on oxygen 24/7, has emphysema, COPD, goes into respiratory attacks where she can't breathe with a tiny cold. Trying to remember to bring her oxygen meter, extra tanks/cannulas/hoses, is the wind too much today? How about the cold? Will that trigger an attack? While vaping can be a pain, I'll take a few bad vape days over what she's going through now. Hang in there! It really will get better.
  5. Wow, Mark, you must be hard on your batteries. I just checked my account at The Veteran Vaper where I got my very first variable voltage battery: Order #404 Order Date: 9th Sep 2012 Your Order Contains: 1 x Joye eGo USB Charger 1 x Joye eGo-C Twist 1000mAh Battery - Matte Black It still works great! No slowing down in sight, although I must admit I use my Vision Spinners more. They were ordered about a month after I got the Twist and are still chugging right along.
  6. But before you buy anything, the first thing you should order is an ohm meter. Always go with safety first in building coils.
  7. I prefer to store all of my e-cigs upright but many lay them on their sides with no problem. The liquid shouldn't leak out the top or into the mouth piece of the clearomizer/tank.
  8. I think everyone has days like that. There was one particular day that I only took two batteries with tankfuls of juice in them. One coil died and the other was going -- fast. Just happened that on that day I didn't have any back ups with me like I usually do. Then a battery died and I discovered that I left my usual back up battery at home. After that I just turned around and went back home. With things going south that fast for me I decided that I would be better off staying home for the rest of the day. Hope the rest of your day went much smoother!
  9. Just me but I would strongly suggest against buying from ebay. You don't know the quality of the items you're going to get. Go with a reputable vendor, you won't go wrong there. If you're getting very little vapor it could be that you have a juice with a high PG (propylene glycol) and low VG (vegetable glycerine). High PG is a thinner juice, harder throat hit, but better flavor carrier. A high VG juice will give you more vapor but it's thicker so it tends to gunk up coils faster, and is slightly sweeter. For a beginner I would recommend a 50/50 blend so you get the best of both worlds. The amount of nicotine could also influence how harsh the vapor is for you. A higher nic level gives harsher throat hit. Depending on how much and what kind of cigarette you used to smoke you need to start at a fairly high level to get you off the analogs. Once you're comfortable and not missing them so much you can drop the nic level a little at a time. Liberty-Flights is a good company that I've dealt with in buying some gear in the past and they have a UK designation. http://www.liberty-flights.com/products.asp This might be a better alternative to ebay? Oh, and the bad tasting liquid you had? Sometimes juices need time to steep. This means you take off the cap, put it into a dark, cool place away from where pets and children can get to it, let it sit anywhere from a few days to a few weeks but remember to shake the bottle daily. Some juices that taste really bad will change in flavor to become your favorite if allowed to age (steep) for a bit. Also, another thing to keep in mind is that you've been smoking for some time. With your change to vaping your taste buds will be recovering and you'll start tasting things better/differently. The longer you vape you'll come to notice that you begin to gain your sense of taste back so what tastes bad to you now may taste better later. Just a thought.
  10. As much as I wanted to like Mt. Baker Vaper's juices, none of them tasted good to me even after letting them steep for a month or more. It's just my tastebuds and they don't seem to mix well with them. Many others love their flavors. Fadora Vapor is having a 20% sale on all their signature line of juices right now until Feb. 28th. I just ordered several bottles. Compenstine from our forum is the owner. In the Signature line you have the option to have him put in real spices into the juice, which to me, makes it taste soooo much better.
  11. How much juice you'll need for one day will depend on how much you vape, what kind of tank you're using (some go through the juice while others seem to sip it), and all kinds of variables. Only way to tell is what works for you and what you go through. Sorry, but I can't explain it better than that. Vaping is such a personal experience that it's hard for someone else to tell you what to use because we have no idea what you'll wind up liking. Actually, at this point neither do you. The coils' ohms and the battery -- this is why we recommend getting the Vision Spinners or the eGo Twist variable voltage battery. If you get a 1.8 ohm (low resistance) coil but you wind up with a juice that wants it hotter, you can turn up the voltage and get a hotter vape. If your coil is at a 2.5 and you have a fruit flavor that needs a cooler temperature you can dial it down to 3.7 or even 3.3 volts. If you were to get a fixed voltage battery, it's stuck at a constant 3.7 volts (aprox.), which goes down a bit as your battery charge goes down. Keep in mind that the higher the resistance of the coil the higher the voltage you're going to need so your battery may not last as long as it would if you were to get a lower ohm coil, the lower ohm coil does tend to get hotter, you get a cooler vape with a higher resistance coil. Hey, guys? Would you check the paragraph above and correct if I got it backwards? I'm just now on my first cup of coffee and not all cylinders are firing. We don't mind answering the same questions if it'll help you get off the analogs and on the a healthier, fun lifestyle. Besides, once you get some experience, and if you stick around the forum, you'll be doing this for someone else who is new to vaping someday.
  12. Once you get it unlocked, take the whole bottom part off. You'll see the screw inside that holds the firing button onto the bottom. Take a screw driver and tighten that to snug. This screw has a habit of coming loose. When that happens, it can lock up your locking ring. At least that's what happens on mine.
  13. My mind did NOT go into the gutter. Okay, so maybe just a little, tiny bit. Lol.
  14. I doubt there will be a mushroom cloud as much as a huge fireball going up into the sky! Lol.
  15. Haven't had much time or energy to mess with it this past week. A sick Mama-san kept my hands full. Hopefully, I can find some time tomorrow. The first thing I need to do is to fight with the damned Butane can to fill up my torch, dammit! Okay, guys. Hear that? I'm going to see if I can get the torch filled up tomorrow so go get your shields and whatnot to hide behind now. This will be your only warning!
  16. Argh! My post got eaten! Okay, here's a "realistic idea" for you. We've all been where you are now. Seriously. We have. Some of us thought (just like you do now), that if we save a few bucks and get the cheaper thing that looks nearly identical to the ones that are being recommended, it'll work the same. It doesn't. Not usually anyway, and you have to be careful of the threads on some of them because you might need an adapter in order to use many of the most popular tanks out there. So, if you think you're going to save a few bucks? In the long run you'll be served much better by putting out the money on a more "expensive" thing and then not have to buy something else all over again because you got what you paid for in the cheaper thing. We see this all the time with new people coming on the forum. They ask us for recs. We give them. They buy something else because it's cheaper and looks the same. They get it. They're not happy with its performance, the threads don't work without having to put more money out on an adapter, wait for adapter to get there, hope it works, gets disgusted and either goes back to analogs or winds up buying what many on this forum recommended in the first place and get sad because of the wasted money purchasing the first cheaper thing. We're not any of us perfect, but we see this ALL. The. TIME. Of course, YMMV, and this is just my opinion.
  17. Nah, we all want the same thing for new vapers: help them along to a healthier lifestyle just like someone else helped us when we first started. It's all good.
  18. I'm not Bebop, but will I do? Evod: http://www.theveteranvaper.com/evod-mt-bcc-metal-bottom-coil-changeable/ T3S: http://www.theveteranvaper.com/t3s-bcc-bottom-coil-changeable/ KPT2 mini: http://www.theveteranvaper.com/kanger-mini-protank-ii-bcc/ Replacement coils ($1.65 each): http://www.theveteranvaper.com/t3s-mt3s-replacement-coils/ The reason you want more than one anything is you must have back ups. And back ups of back ups. As for more than one battery (we all usually suggest a minimum of two if not more), is that you have something to do for the several hours it takes for a drained battery to charge. Also, what if something happens and your battery breaks? What about something goes wrong with your tank and you have no back up so you have to wait several days for the mail or drive to the B&M that happens to be several hours away? On the convenience side, it's nice to have more than one battery and one tank filled with different flavors. When I can no longer taste a flavor due to vaping it too long, I just pick up another battery with a different tank and flavor and vape away.
  19. You might want to start a new thread for this different topic, you're likely to get more answers there. At 194 pages your question is likely to be buried here in the "Bump when you get something new" thread.
  20. Three more HH.357 atomizers in 1.5 ohm non-custom this time. Trying something new-ish.
  21. Just ordered this after messing up coil after coil. Something like this is bound to make building coils a little easier, especially since I can't seem to master the sprouting of extra hands... Thanks for the heads up!
  22. I think he's spending some quality time with the goat...
  23. Tam may have bought a torch but she still hasn't been able to fill the damned thing with Butane. Lol! The can hates me and is fighting back. You're all safe at the moment. Eventually, if I ever get the thing filled I'll be sure to give you guys warning so you can duck and cover...
  24. Yes! to all of the above made suggestions. I was a pack a day Marlboro Light smoker for more years than I want to admit to now. When I first started it was with 24 mg of nicotine. That's what got me over the hump and off the analogs. After I put the analogs behind me for a few weeks I dropped it down to 18 and more quickly dropped it down even further to 12, sometimes 6 mg of nicotine. YMMV.
