Yeah, while it's within the realm of possibility, if I live to see that one, I'll probably be too old to care anymore. :D

Now, all we have to do is wait another 28 years for the next one. That should give everyone plenty of time to get ready...

To me, I get a nice chocolate flavor with a fairly strong coconut and a hint of the almond in the background. How you vape also makes a difference in how you get the flavor. It really doesn't matter if you're a mouth to lung - this is like how most people smoke - they draw the vapor into the mouth before inhaling into the lungs. Others will draw direct to lung. Either way, when you're exhaling, try blowing the vapor out of your nose and mouth in equal amounts at the same time. I've found I get better flavor recognition this way, so have other new vapers I've coached. Keep some 3 mg and some 6 around and switch them out. Have you heard of a phenomenon that's referred to as "vaper's tongue"? All this means is that you've vaped one flavor too long and can no longer taste it. This is normal. Just keep a different tank around with a vastly different flavor (or more than one), and switch when you can't taste it anymore. In the past I used to go from a minty Mojito flavor to an apple pie to the Almond Joy to a... and so on. Drinking more water will also help to flush out the toxins faster too.

The past four years or so it's been an Almond Joy flavor from EC Blends. I buy it by the 125 ml bottle, usually a couple at a time.

Just an FYI. When I first started vaping, I was on 24 mg of nic, but you need to take into account that we didn't have the kinds of equipment we do now. Most of my eliquid now is at 3 mg but I still have some at 12 and 18 mg for those days and times when I can't vape as often.

All of the members on the forum could throw recommendations at you, but the only one who can tell you what you like is you. Not that I'm trying to give you a hard time or anything but flavor is so subjective. What one person thinks is perfect, it will taste like dirty socks to the next person. It will all depend on what tastes good to you. One eliquid vendor I liked a lot when I first started out is EC Blends. They have little 5 ml samples for under three dollars (usually something like $1.99 or so). You can customize the juices as much as you like. My all day vape for several years now is an almond joy flavor. I would never have guessed I'd like it this much. Ever. You might surprise yourself with what you find tasty. If you want more throat hit, you'll want a little more PG in your eliquid. This is the flavor carrier, thins the liquid and gives better throat hit. If more vapor, smoother throat hit, a little sweeter, is your thing, then go a little more on the VG. For the set up you have I would recommend going with a 50 PG/50 VG to start. You don't want to go with anything thinner with that tank. Also, at the beginning, go up a little on the nicotine. 3 mg isn't enough for someone trying to get off cigarettes. I'd go at least a 6 mg or 8 mg. If you vape too much and get too much nicotine, yes, you'll develop a headache. Just stop vaping for a little while and it should go away on its own. Make sure to drink lots of water. Vaping dehydrates you so increased water intake is a must -- not soda, not coffee or tea, or anything other than plain water. If the juice tastes a little "bad" when you increase the nicotine, then just have the vendor increase the flavor a little to mask it. Hang in there, we've all been through it. The first few weeks are especially trying because your body is detoxing from all the carcinogens that you took in with cigarettes. If you can hang in there, this will pass.

I don't think flavor is as important as the amount of nic in your eliquid when you first try to quit. I smoked a pack of Marlboro Lights per day so when I switched to vaping I was using 24 mg. nicotine in my eliquid. Now, this was over five years ago so the equipment was vastly different as was how much nicotine I was absorbing. What tank are you using? The resistance of your coil? What mg. of nicotine is in your juice? All these things will help us to help you.

Oh, I remember the Silver Saddle well. I was playing bass in a country band and the rest of the group were trying to "country-fy" me by making me hang out at country western bars. It's now some kind of family pizza place. :(

LOL! I was trying to figure out the directions you gave in your first comment that didn't add up but figured it was just not enough coffee this morning. The SO grew up in Colorado City. He has two brothers who live there and one in Rye. I used to work at the depot once upon a time. It was a very interesting commute when you crunched on the tarantula crossing or ran over rattle snakes on that road.

Congrats! I'm happy to hear that life is good for you. It was so cute how you met, too.

Sorry to hear it's being such a pain to you locals, I can totally sympathize on a smaller level. In our town we have the State Fair happening in just a week or so. There will be no hotel rooms available within 200 miles of us for 11 days. Traffic will be terrible, the restaurants over flowing, and the town will be turned upside down and shaken for the duration. You know... the eclipse isn't happening until Monday. If you put some signs out I bet you could still get some campers on your property... you know... those last minute people who didn't have the foresight to book ahead? Might be worth a shot. Good luck until Tuesday!

One more thing -- if you're not already doing it. Vaping will dehydrate you so you want to be drinking lots of water. Just plain water, not soda/pop, juice, coffee, tea, whatever. The water will keep you hydrated better.

@Earthling789 gives sound advice. I would also add that the same juice can and will taste vastly different in different tanks with different resistance coils (or even coils of the same resistance). Give a different tank a try.
-
Just like when you drive a car, just because your car is capable of going 120 mph doesn't mean you should drive it at 120 mph, you can (and probably should) only be driving it at lower speeds. Even if your mod can go up to 40W doesn't mean you should. I have one that goes up to 80W yet I use it at 7.8W to get the best flavor and vapor production.

SMOK Alien can handle down to 0.1 ohm coil so you should be fine.

Vape creates burning sensation in my throat
Tam replied to Umair khalid's topic in General Vaping Discussion
In my opinion your PG/VG ratio is fine. If there's a way to open up the airflow more than it is right now you might also want to do that, if you're not getting enough air to the coil, that would also give a burning sensation. The 2mm airslots are located at the bottom of the stick. -

Just did a google search and found that you can't adjust power on your unit. Sorry about that. If you fill your tank, I would leave it standing up and not unassemble and put it away in the box again. If you want to direct drip your juice, you'll want to get a different set up that's made for this purpose. -

If you're not filling your tank, it's a good possibility that you burned your wick, which will give you the burning sensation when you take a draw. This is not a dripper type of tank, it's made so that it holds liquid. You need enough liquid to keep your wick wet. I would change out your heating coil, refill the tank and let it sit for a few minutes to let the liquid soak into your wick and then try vaping it again. Start with a low wattage, vape. If that doesn't give you satisfactory results, increase the wattage/power by just a bit and vape. Repeat until you get just a hint of a burning taste, back down your watts a bit and that should be the sweet spot for that coil and juice. -
What is the resistance of the coil you're using in your tank? If possible, what I would do is to get a higher resistance coil (above 1.0 ohm like a 1.5 ohm or 1.8 ohm coil), and that way you can lower your wattage/power to it. If you use a higher VG liquid, that will increase more vapor output. How you vape also can affect how much vapor you're getting. You can push the button for a second before you begin the inhale, then inhale (more of a puff really), two or three quick puffs to get the vapor going before you inhale the last one. Did that make sense?

Getting weird side effects from new juice
Tam replied to Juan Lucas's topic in General eLiquid Discussion
Sorry, without doing some serious testing I doubt there's any way anyone on a forum could tell you what's causing your symptoms. If you want to do a test yourself, you might get some of the juice you've always used and customize it to a higher VG level to match the juice that's giving you problems. If you get the same symptoms, I'd say it's the PG ratio. If not, then it's probably just the juice and you should buy from a different vendor. I would go with the juice you always use for a few days until the original symptoms go away then start your experiment. If the symptoms continue, I'd go see the doctor, it might not be the juice at all and could be that you're coming down with something else. -
Are you sure it was a mod and not just an unprotected battery? Most of these stories include people putting batteries into their pocket with change that shorts out the battery until it explodes.

Nicotine IMPORTS Downunder Australia
Tam replied to Vapelife1200's topic in General eLiquid Discussion
In my experience, Australia tends to open packages to check what's inside. They nearly had fits when I sent bottles of flavored vinegar and olive oil to a friend who lives there. -
Could be I just hide it well online.
