Pro Tank II replacement coils burning out
Tam replied to cheryli's topic in Troubleshooting & Technical Issues
The first question I'd ask about these coils are...are you sure they're genuine Kanger coils and not knock offs? Also, you don't mention what PG/VG ratio your juice is. That might play a part? -
Been watching the tracking to make sure you didn't have to wait weeks for it to get to you. Glad that wasn't the case. I was wondering where you'd gone off to lately. Happy that you're back.

Here's an update on the charger made by Vision. So...the Spinner 2 finally needed to recharge. I put it on the Vision charger earlier tonight. While it's still charging right now and the light on the charger hasn't turned green yet, it cycled through the orange to blue to white without my needing to do anything to it. This is only one charge so I'm still not totally convinced yet but it's looking good so far.

You know, I think you're right, Earthling. The longer stemmed coils seem to come loose more often than the shorter ones. Even though I have quite a stash of extra coils I may need to pick up some of these short ones. I like not having juices leak so often.
-
Not to rain on your parade but keep a close watch on your new Vision clearomizer for leakage. Every Vision clearomizer I've ever used (and I've used nearly every one they put out at one point or another), developed a leak where I'd lose an entire tankful of juice -- eventually. Hopefully, this one will work well for you but watch it closely just in case. Vision makes excellent batteries (i.e. Vision Spinner/Vision Spinner II), but their tanks generally left quite a bit to be desired.

Just last night I asked Christopher (Vapor Talk's Godfather and founder), and he said these work the same as the longer stemmed coils on the Kanger Pro Tank and the KPT2 along with all the other tanks the store description states. Like Earthling said, and he remembers correctly, these shorter stemmed single coils were the originals. And if I remember correctly, I liked these better than the longer stemmed ones. Less leakage and less problems than what we sometimes encounter with the longer stems. You will, however, want the dual coils for your Aerotank.

How about a brother?

Welcome to Vapor Talk! My Vision Spinners (both version 1 and 2) get a heavy workout. I rotate them but they're constantly in use, mostly the 1300 mAh. These last over a year each from my experience. On my 900 mAh, I use Anyvape Davide minis with Kanger Pro Tank single coils at 1.8 ohms. I love my iTaste VTR for a variable voltage/wattage device. On these I use either a Kanger Pro Tank 2 or 3, Aerotank or a full sized Anyvape Davide with a 1.8 ohm coil.

125 ml of EC Blends' Feels Like a Nut double extra sweet. 12 mg, 50/50. I'm still stuck on this one.

You can preorder the mini from the VT store for $27.00... Just sayin'. Also, later on (probably later tonight), you should be able to order 1.8 ohm coils for these for $15.99 a 5-pack.

What damned bu...oh. That one. Yes, I'll talk to Chris about making it more noticeable. lol

That's good to hear. When I got the original Aerotank I played hell trying to unstick the airflow ring that didn't want to budge. That happened when I was trying to remove the base from the tank and it was stuck but good. lol

Earthling gives some excellent advice and great recs. I'll add just a little more info, however. More PG = thinner juice, more throat hit, less vapor More VG = thicker juice (gunks up coils faster), less throat hit, slightly sweeter flavor, more vapor Higher nicotine level = more throat hit, can add slightly bitter taste That said, if you were a cigar smoker I'd suggest starting with a 24 mg nic, 50 PG/50 VG juice to start. Then, after you get going you can play with the levels to your idea of perfection. Vaping is an intensely personal thing. What works and tastes good to one person won't work and taste awful to another. There's no forecasting what will work for you until you try it for yourself. Good luck!

While I can't chime in on the MVP 2 because I don't have one, I do have its big brother, the iTaste VTR and that works great! It might not be the best choice for a beginner, however. As for tanks, I agree with Earthling. A Kanger Pro Tank 2 with an Aerotank base using single coils is very good and works extremely well.

Nice job! That's the way to use your head.

Congrats on your first 100 days! That's a great accomplishment to get this far. I can't wait to be posting another congrats on your next 100 day mark. -
Glad to hear it got to you all safe and sound! You mention airflow but how's the flavor on these new coils?

For your EVOD glass you want to get the dual coils. The link below is for 1.5 ohm https://www.vaportalkstore.com/Kanger-Dual-Coil-2-0ohm-p/kanger-dual-coil-1.5.htm and the link below this is for the 2.0 ohm coil https://www.vaportalkstore.com/Kanger-Dual-Coil-2-0ohm-p/kanger-dual-coil-2.0.htm

Most people go way down on nic level when using an RDA. When I use a tank I vape at 12 mg of nic. When using an RDA I drop it down to 6 mg. Welcome to Vapor Talk.

The full sized KPT3 take dual coils but single coils also work in them. I'm not sure but I think they should also work in the mini version.

I stand corrected. Thanks.
