Good for you that you have been able to quit smoking! I'm so sorry for your loss. I, too, lost my mother earlier this year due to COPD and emphysema. I hope you stick with your resolve to stay away from cigarettes. Welcome to Vapor Talk.

Aaaawwww, I'm sorry to hear you're under the weather, Comp. I hope you get lots of rest and feel better soon.

I'm with you on staying at home where it's far away from crowds of people. Tomorrow's the last day of the state fair, which is in the town where I live, so it's extra good to not go anywhere. Hope everyone has a very safe and fun holiday!

If you're starting with an RDA I'd suggest some research into what you want and what you can do as far as airflow. Using an RDA requires good airflow or you're going to get a very harsh hit. Do you want one that has adjustable airflow or are you okay with drilling it out yourself? Before you start buying any supplies, make sure the first thing on your list is a dedicated ohm meter. That's very important to make sure you're safe. Do not rely on an APV to read ohms of a coil correctly and accurately. Next is the wire. 28, 30 and 32 gauge A-1 Kanthal is a good start. Organic cotton is a popular choice for wicking material. High VG juice with lower nic level is also another thing you'll need. For example I regularly use 12 mg nic at 50/50 when I direct drip with an atomizer and also use in my tanks. In my RDA I use 3 or 6 mg nic, 20PG/80VG. If I don't drop the nic and increase VG, it feels like my throat's getting ripped out and I get way too much nic at one time. Other things you may need are tweezers with insulated grips, drill bits or a Qcoiler to wrap your coils, good eyes, nimble fingers and lots of patience. A good mini torch is very handy but not entirely necessary. Good luck!

https://www.vaportalkstore.com/510-Empty-Cartomizers-2-0-OHM-LR-5-Pack-p/510%20carto%20lr.htm Those are 2.0 ohm cartomizers and at a very good price. That will work well with the Spinner II.

Smoke alarms can go off if you blow the vapor directly at them. Also, if there's enough vapor in the air, it will set off the alarms. At the large vape meet in Denver awhile back, everyone was vaping and we set off the smoke alarms so often that the hotel threatened to throw us out, but that's more of the extreme.

Smoke alarms typically won't go off unless you blow the vapor directly at it. Try taking a short puff, hold your breath for around 10 seconds and see what comes out. It's not much. When I have to stealth vape, that's what I do. If I hold my breath for a little longer, no vapor comes out at all. As for the scent, I'm going to be asking a friend of mine to mix up a batch of 12 mg juice with just a touch of sweet but no flavor to see if that will work.

Would you try Vaping if you Never tried a Cigarette?
Tam replied to TheRealKaty's topic in General Vaping Discussion
If I never smoked analogs? I'd like to think I would stay away from it but I honestly don't know. As a former smoker of 30+ years I was just happy to have found something that actually worked to get me off cigarettes when everything else didn't. -
Nah, I shouldn't try to post on forums after a grueling 14 hour work day. I don't make much sense and wind up asking all manner of weird questions to try to fill in the blanks in my head. Lol.

My comment was just to be clear on which tank I was referring to as Aspire has all kinds of different tanks and not all have the airflow control.
-
The Aspire Nautilus mini has airflow control.
-
For my RDAs I only use the Sony VTC4 or VTC5. For tanks like the KPT2 or Nautilus with a 1.8 ohm coil, that's when I use the Panasonic batteries. It's hard to figure out what's being asked when there's not much detail.

Personally I only tighten until snug but not too tight. That gives me a very consistent reading that's very close to what my Fluke meter says.

Like bcarter I use Vision Spinner I and II with Anyvape Davide mini on top or my HH.357 atomizer with drip shield. I also carry with me my gold Magneto with a full size Anyvape Davide tank with Aerotank airflow controller or the iTaste VTR with the Nautilus mini. Just depends on what flavor I want and what it's on.

I routinely use Panasonic 18650 batteries in my mech mods with 1.5 or 1.8 ohm coils with no problem. Why shouldn't you do this?

Sorry to hear it didn't work out for you, but I'm glad you found something that did.

The first time I ordered from Fuzion I fell in love with one of their juices so I ordered a bigger bottle when the first ran out. The second order somehow didn't taste the same to me and I didn't like it. Later on I found out that Fuzion changed the way they made their juice (PG/VG ratio), and that's why the second order didn't taste the same as the first. Not saying they're bad, they just no longer fit my palate and my preference for a 50/50 blend. The juice I fell in love with was called 'OrangeZilla'. Five Pawns has Queenside, which tastes almost identical to OrangeZilla to me so now I get my fix with them. YMMV.

There's some very good advice from Earthling. I couldn't have said it better.
