Noobies' Guide to Vaping II -- with Links to where you can get it
Tam replied to Tam's topic in New Vapers Forum
Thanks. And 'cuz I forgot. Lol. Thanks for the reminder. -
Too new, it's not proven itself yet. The Vision Spinners have been around long enough that we know it's relatively trouble-free and easy for new vapers to use.

Here at Vapor Talk we get a lot of new members who have just started or wanting to start vaping. In a recent post I put all kinds of links to the most recommended hardware. The links all go to the Vapor Talk store because...it's the Vapor Talk forum and we like to support the store that allows the forum to exist. The Vapor Talk store also has some of the lowest prices around, only sell genuine brand names (no knock offs here!), and the customer service is most excellent. Here are recommendations for new vapers who need some help locating things you're not familiar with. We've all been there. It's good that you're asking questions and not running to eBay, which is not a good place to go, imo. It's all too easy to get knock offs there and you don't know it until it's too late. We see the aftermath of this all the time on the forum. Okay, here are some links: Batteries Vision Vapros 1300 mAh: https://www.vaportal...vapros-1300mah/ These are basically Spinners and new. They're just prettier than the regular Spinners is all but still great workhorses. I think they just prettied up the original Spinners and gave them a different name. Vision Spinner 2: https://www.vaportal...attery-1600mah/ You're in luck that they're even lower than before! Chargers Vision USB charger: https://www.vaportal...-rapid-charger/ These are out of stock right now but it usually doesn't take very long to restock. They should have them soon. You can also use the Joyetech charger, they work just as well: https://www.vaportal...0t-usb-charger/ AC wall adapter Joyetech wall adapter: https://www.vaportal...b-wall-adapter/ In my book, these are a must. I love to keep my computers in one piece, and there's a safety overcharge protection built into the adapters for extra protection. Tanks Pro Tank 3 mini: https://www.vaportal...ro-tank-3-mini/ These will be around the same diameter as the battery you have now as well as the Spinners. KPT2 or Kanger Pro Tank 2: https://www.vaportal...hop/pro-tank-2/ These are the full sized tanks and will make your battery and tank combo look a little top heavy (lollypop), but holds more juice. You can use the Aerotank airflow controller on the full sized tanks: https://www.vaportal...3-and-aerotank/ Replacement coils (heating element) for your tanks These are the long stemmed replacement coils for the KPT2 and KPT3 mini. Even though the KPT3 mini comes with a dual coil, you can use the single coils with no problems: https://www.vaportal...ill-dual-coils/ You can also use the short stemmed coils. These are what originally came out for the KPTs and then Kanger changed them to long stem. Some people report leaking on the short stem, I haven't had this problem except with a couple of them. Quality control isn't a priority with Chinese manufacturers so you will get a dud from time to time. https://www.vaportal...pro-tank-coils/ I would go with a 1.5 ohm or 1.8 ohm coil in either of the links above. My personal preference is the 1.8 ohm because I find that it works with the widest range of juices. The 1.5 ohm runs a little hotter than I like, but that's just me. If I forgot something, let me know. Right now, if you're on a budget, these are the things I'd recommend. Later on, you may want to look at an Aspire Nautilus or Nautilus mini with the vertical coil but those are around $24 - $26 and the coils cost more to replace. The KPT tanks are solid performers. They do have a Pyrex glass tank so you'll want to be a little careful not to break them. There is replacement glass available, though. With glass tanks you don't have to worry about what juice you're using. There are some that are known as tank crackers: heavy on citrus, mint, menthol, heavy on cinnamon... Plastic tanks are prone to crack with some of these. Glass tanks are not. If you have something you'd like to add for a noob's a la carte starter set up, please put that in the comments and I'll try to get them added here. We don't want to load up their shopping cart, that would increase their start up costs. Just the bare basics need to go here.
-
I would also recommend emptying the tank, rinsing well and start all over again with fresh juice and a fresh coil. The juice in your tank may have been adversely affected if you were using too high heat the first time around. The taste might now be in the juice itself...
-
Ah...so now you come here to settle a score and get revenge. If what you say is true, take it to the local authorities. If any laws are being broken in your area, they will take care of it.

Hello guys, a quick hello from the uk :) + Current Kit
Tam replied to blueschill's topic in Introduce Yourself
Welcome to Vapor Talk. -
Just went back and checked and even I don't have permission to change my own display name. Chris changed it from Tameiki to just "Tam" a few days ago, which is why I was curious. Once he gets back to work on Monday, he should figure out what's going wrong.....
-
After looking around their site I found that it's 70 PG/30 VG. These days I prefer little to no throat hit so I'm glad you say it's pretty easy on that even at 24 mg. Glass bottles are the best.
-
Since I would trust any of your recs, Rix, I just ordered a 30 ml bottle of this juice. I've been looking for something that's similar to the FLaN I've been vaping for so long and I love blueberries and coconut... Thanks for the rec! I'm looking forward to trying this out. What was the PG/VG ratio and nic level you got? How's the throat hit? These days I'm not looking for any throat hit, just flavor so I'm curious.

Congrats on your new kit. This is just a guess but I think that battery is a 650 mAh at the standard 3.7 volts. The clearomizer looks like a CE5. You'll want to get some coils for it, though. CE4s and CE5s don't last too long, maybe a week or two? With your online order, be sure to get an AC adapter so you can plug it into a wall socket. That's a much safer way to charge than using a cell or laptop. Much less chance of frying your electronic equipment too. Oh, and with this clearomizer? Because it has the long wicks, it's near impossible to get the flavor out of these so you'll want to stick to the same flavor and not change it.

What's Your 18350 Battery Of Choice For Powering Rebuildables?
Tam replied to Rixter's topic in Batteries and Chargers
My Provari mini is the only one I use an 18350 for and I only use it with a KPT2 and 1.8 ohm coil so I don't need anything high performance for that. My AW IMR 18350 is fine for that. If anything, though, I'd like to get longer battery life than the 700 mAh. Guess I'm going to have to invest in an extension so I can use my Panasonic 18650 3400 mAh in it... Sorry, Rix. No help here. -

Oh! And another thing; if you're changing flavors and empty your tank, NEVER put the old liquid back into your bottle. Always keep your old liquid in a different bottle -- if you're going to save it. If not, just rinse it out.
-
Yes and no. Sometimes you can just rinse the coil (or soak in vodka) and change the flavor if it's something similar. The old flavor will linger for awhile and may actually taste like a good combination. At other times, if you're using two very strong flavors, the first flavor will linger no matter what you do (unless you go through a very laborious rinse, boil, rinse, boil, etc.) and the two flavors will not taste good together. If you're mechanically minded, I guess you could take the coil apart, remove the wick and replace it with a new one but that's a pain imo. Much easier to pop in a new coil or, better yet, just get a separate tank.
-
Another reason why we strongly suggest getting more batteries and coils is that, when you vape one flavor for a prolonged period of time, you'll get to the point where you can't taste it any more. This is commonly called "vaper's tongue". When this happens, if you vape a very different flavor for a bit, you'll be able to taste the first flavor again. It's much easier to just pick up a second or third battery with the tank of the different flavor on it than to have to waste the liquid in your tank, rinse it out, change the coil and put a different flavor in. At the very least, get another tank or two to keep filled with different flavors so all you have to do is change out the tank.
-
My preference is the 1.8 ohm coil but everyone has their own favorites. Lower ohms also means that you can get away with using less voltage = longer lasting charge in the battery. The 1600 mAh in the Vision Spinner II should last a day or a little more depending on how you vape.
-
If you don't buy anything more right now, you really need to get more coils. Usually, a stock coil will last around a couple of weeks but you never know when they'll go out and if your only back up coil will work and/or last long enough to get more. We're a broken record around here about back ups. And back ups of back ups. We can't emphasize that enough.
-
You'll also want to add an AC adapter for the charger, it's a much safer way to charge without risking frying your PC. Add at least one or two 5-packs of replacement coils to your order. The Kanger Pro Tank 3 can take the single coils or the more expensive dual coils that come with it.

Aspire Nautilus Cisco Spec HH Replacement Coils

You're rebuilding Nautilus coils, Comp? -
Ha! Jason beat me to putting up the link to the post I made with all the links on it. I need to put that into its own post for easier reference but haven't yet. Read through the thread. There's a lot of good advice from our knowledgeable and friendly members. Welcome to Vapor Talk.

Aspire Nautilus Cisco Spec HH Replacement Coils
Tam replied to jasonculp's topic in Share the Latest Vaping Products
*falls over laughing* Yes, please let us know how well they work, Jason. From my experience with the HH.357 Cisco atomizers, I would expect it to be amazing! After all this time and all the different tanks and RDAs I've tried, I still can't get performance comparable to the HH.357s. If these work as well as the atomizers, I would love to pay $10 each instead of the $25 that I pay now. -
Aspire Nautilus Cisco Spec HH Replacement Coils
Tam replied to jasonculp's topic in Share the Latest Vaping Products
Haven't tried these, but I would imagine that the quality is the same as the HH.357s that I use. I'm still dropping nearly $200 a pop for their atomizers so I think the $10 a coil would be worthwhile. I'll order a couple in my next order with them. Thanks for the heads up. -
You've come a long way in a short amount of time, Jason. You've also helped a lot of people get started and troubleshooting things. Give yourself a pat on the back.
