Tinkering is good! We'll make a vaper out of you yet.
-
Well, we've had a freezing mist/drizzle all evening. Now that the sun's gone down we get to drive to work tomorrow on an ice skating rink with a little bit of snow on top to hide the ice underneath. Fun times. And you're welcome!

So, I've been vaping on this all day today, not using any other battery and it still doesn't show much battery use. I'm getting suspicious that the battery indicator isn't working...
-
What Rixter said. Also, these are sealed so the juice that leaks out of the atomizer doesn't ever get onto the battery connection.
-
They're so small that when I take them off the batteries, they tend to get misplaced. A lot. So I get back ups. And back ups of back ups and so on.

Six more 510 to 510 adapters from Mad Vapes.

Jason. Seriously. You need to try the iStick 50w, it's incredible! I can't believe how light it is, the problems with the iStick 20w have all been resolved and then some. I've been vaping on mine nearly continuously since it came in (once I topped off the battery), and the charge indicator still looks full with hardly any use showing. It's been almost two days now with very little switching to other batteries. You neeeeeeeed one!
-
Just leave off the iStick 20w. Too many problems with that one.

So many new vapers cough when they change over, it may look and be somewhat similar to smoking -- except it's not. Draw a bit of vapor into your mouth, hold it a second and then inhale. See if that doesn't help. Like Earthling said, the iStick mini and/or 20w are giving even experienced vapers fits. The silly things are not accurate in the voltage/wattage readings and it hits much hotter than it says. For example, on any of my other batteries (eGo Twist, Vision Spinner I and II, IPV mini, iStick 50w, etc.), I can put a 2.0 ohm atomizer on them and vape fine on 4.3 volts. Put it on an iStick 20w and it makes me cough even at its lowest setting of 3.0 volts, it's hitting much hotter and I'm getting a burnt taste. It may not be just you. Give a new battery a try. Good for you that you're still willing to stick with this. We'll be right here to help however we can. Wait. You say you're getting your gear from a B&M? Since I'm not familiar with the store you're using, I can't say for sure, but are you certain what you're buying are genuine name brands and not knock offs? That could also make a difference in how it performs. Just a thought.

What battery and tank combo are you using? I can't remember what you said. Hardware could also play a part although juice (PG/VG ratio) is more likely the culprit.
-
With my iStick whateverthehellwatts that came in today, I think I'm set for a little while. I am, however, on the lookout for a small box mod like the iStick 20w but without the power issues. I love the IPV mini and the mini2 but they're a little on the heavy side. The iStick 20w has a nice, light feel to it that I'm searching for in my next purchase. Until then, I doubt you'll be able to tempt me into buying anything new. And no, that's not a challenge. Lol.

PG is thinner and easier to get out than VG. When I get the atomizer, I blow through the bottom to get most of the liquid out, then gently put in a piece of tissue and give it a few minutes to soak up the remaining liquid. This lessens the time it takes to be able to best taste the juice without the primer getting in the way. With any amount of VG, I wind up having to vape diluted VG for a time before I get to the true flavor of the juice. With PG, it's almost instant.

Earthling learned from me. He just turned things around so it bit me in the behind.
-
I should've also added that, even though voltage mode works better than wattage on the iStick 20w, it still runs hotter than other devices. With a 2.0 ohm HH.357 (reads at 2.1 ohms on the meter), all of my other devices need to be set at around 4.3v. I get the same performance from the iStick at 3.4v. Now, I'm not saying that that is the actual range, but that's the voltage that I'm using and getting the similar performance from. Any higher and I start to get a slightly burnt taste to my juice.

Besides, your brand of bling wears a banana hammock.
-
Nah, I've got no use for bling, but thanks anyway.

From the Vapor Talk store: 7 - 5-packs of 1.8 ohm KPT coils 2 - 5-packs of 1.8 ohm Nautilus BVC coils And that concludes my shopping escapades for tonight. I think. Unless Earthling get to me first before the night is over.
-
Oh! Now I see. I think I see a single rain drop.
-
What is that a picture of?
-
Yep. And there's LOTS of them!

From Madvapes: 1 - Black EHPro Plume Veil RDA 6 - 510 to eGo adapters From Avid Vaper: 10 - Custom Cisco Hybrid Spec HH.357 atomizers in 2.0 ohm, standard size, matte black, 100% PG
-
It's the Eleaf iStick 20w that's the problem. It runs hotter than what the wattage displays. I had the same problem with mine until Earthling told me to use it in voltage mode. That works much better.
-
Is your Plume Veil made by Tobeco or EHPro? I'm thinking of getting the EHPro one. Maybe.

...and it's snowing sideways here tonight.
