  1. I did, Chris, and I wasn't ignoring you. I was trying to get everything into one post there and didn't quite make it. I am not using the 510 with the PT. I'm using the I'm 302. They are the ones melting. I realize they won't last forever, but I would think longer than one day. And I do thank you for the suggestion about the brass cart. I just don't know how comfortable I'd be with metal in my mouth and I wonder what it might do to my teeth. I'll give it some thought though. It sure would be nice to not have to remove the cart to drip. I have never used a 5 volt unit before and want to be careful with what I do. I want to take care of it and do everything right. I just wanted to know if I was doing something wrong. That's all. Thanks for all the answers everyone! You all are the best!!!
  2. Congrats on your decision and purchase Uma. I'm happy for you. Be sure and let us know what you think of it when you get it.
  3. Yeah, I'm thinking that's just you. LOL Just kidding. After seeing the picture, I can sure that happening. But I'm guessing it's not quite the same as vaping. Right? LOL
  4. Thank so much, McQuinn. I'm glad I'm not the only who ever melted a cart. I am not using any poly, only direct dripping, so that isn't a problem. I can't taste the juice, so I wouldn't know about that one. I have already taken the white part off of the cart I have left and am using it that way. I have melted 4 carts in 4 days. These were brand new carts - never before been used - so it's not that they were old and worn out. I have another question. Could this be a bad atty? The reason I'm asking is, in the last hour I have started to get what seems like a "big puff" or "pop" of air? or vapor? coming at me through the mouthpiece while I am taking a drag. I have never had this happen before on anything. I'm thinking it has something to do with the atty. Could it? The atty is less than a week old, I have never used it on anything else except the VP, which I've also only had for less than a week. It's a bit disconcerting to have that pop of air or whatever pop into your mouth when you're not expecting it.
  5. I'm feeling really stupid all the way around right now. I wrote out a post and then decided to just delete it instead of posting. I hit add reply instead. So I quickly edited it, but it seems as though some people are faster readers than I am at editing. So, here's what happened: This morning, I plugged my VP/PT in. Then when I went to attach the atty, just when the two metal parts touched, I got a very loud POP sound, saw a red flash, and felt something hit my belly. I quickly unplugged the PT. When I looked at my shirt, it had a black burned spot on it. Not burned through as in a hole, but like a soot mark. Really scared the crap out of me. I hesitated for awhile, but decided to try again and it's working fine now. I figured I did something stupid and didn't really want to admit it. But because of what I've reading, I do take the atty off everytime I'm away from the unit. I do not leave it plugged in if I'm not right beside it. And I thought I was supposed to plug the unit in first, then attach atty. Am I doing that backwards? This is the way I've been doing since I got the unit last week and haven't had any problems at all.
  6. I do drip, without filler. I just took the filler out of the carts I had. These would have been from the old 801 kit I got, and not the low bridge 801's I got later. They came with just the black, soft tip. I threw those out because they didn't have the white part and I thought I had to have that part to use the attys. Now I know I don't cause I'm using one without the white part. Yeah, it's winter here, too. But this was not a static spark.
  7. I don't think I have a bad unit. I was afraid it would sound like that and that's why I quickly edited my post. I don't think I had the button pushed in - I'm being very careful with that. I don't think it's been stuck in the on position. I've been holding the atty to make sure it doesn't heat up too much and to make sure it cools down. I had 2 drops of juice, take 3 to 4 drags, and take my cart off. It was even starting to melt that way. So being stuck on wouldn't have anything to do with it. I don't think.
  8. I did take the white part of for now. I'm getting more air this way, but it doesn't seem to melting. Honestly, I've had the carts for awhile, but they have to be from Arno cause that's where I got my 801 kit and they had to come with that.
  9. The white part on my slips out of the black part, but that leaves it completely open - where you can see light thru the tip. I'm using it that way now. Mine are soft tips, too, and I really like that part.
  10. At this point, I'm pretty sure there is no way I could go back to analogs. Part of the reason I'm trying to get down to 0 nic is in case they take my vaping away.
  11. It did, but I edited my post because I decided I didn't want to say anything. I guess you saw it before I edited. But, the cart melting...I direct drip, too. With an empty cart. The white part starts melting first, then even the black part. I'm taking my cart off after taking about 3 drags, but the white part is starting to melt on this last one.
  12. How do I keep from melting the carts? I'm down to my last one.
  13. I, too, wish you good luck with your mother, wright306. And yeah, if she resists, send her here and dave can take care of her for you. Isn't that what he meant? ummmm, yeah, I'm sure that's what he meant.
  14. I like the idea behind the idea of the juicebox, but I've only seen one video review of it. Has anyone tried one? Or know anything more about it? Or know anything about the guy making them?
  15. Umm, Dave....Just so you know....the postal service seems to deliver in WV before coming to Nebraska, so if it works for you, like it did for me, you might have an extra day to wait. I'm just sayin'......
  16. Well, I can comment on it. I think you're gonna love it, Dave. You know what, I've heard that some people have to come down on the nic level while using the VP/PT. Maybe you can get down a little bit, too. That would be nice for you. Good luck. Can't wait to hear what you think of it. Good luck with the pricing model, too. From what Jeff says, I'm sure you're having a wonderfully fun time with it.
  17. Well, I have to agree that if you are wanting a mod, nothing compares to the VP/PT. Plugged into the wall, it's just plain amazing! I can't comment on juices - none of them have any taste for me, so I haven't even tried VT juices yet.
  18. I'm sure you'll like that, but be sure and let us know. Good luck. The waiting will be the only hard part now.
  19. We may tend to get a bit excited when it comes to this stuff and overwhelm people. Sorry about that. Like BirdDog and Dave said, most of that stuff can come later. I agree with just getting the kit and some juice the first time. You might want to check wordupecig for your liquid, too. He has 50 mil bottles for $25. which can be a big savings. He does have smaller bottles, too, for not too much. You will probably want to go with smaller bottles until you find something that tastes good to you. Then you could order bigger bottles and get the whole savings.
  20. You have my condolences. That is such sad news.
  21. I've wondered the same thing, dlynne. Even when it came to tasting the liquid. I smoked for 34 years and figured I'd just ruined my taste buds and my sense of smell. I think it took at least a month of being off the analogs before I smelled coffee brewing. Maybe even six weeks. From your banner, it looks like you're right at a month, so you might still see some improvement.
  22. This is sounding more and more like something I need for a portable, small unit. I spend so much time outside in the summer and neither my VP2 or VP/PT would work for me out there. I need something small and light that can go in my pocket. Something with a long enough battery life that I don't have to keep going back for a new battery. This just seems like the answer. Really, I haven't vaped in the summer yet and it could be that I would only need to vape when I came inside to cool down or whatever, but I don't know yet and want to be prepared ahead of time. I am a bit concerned about there not being enough vapor now. I just knew the VP/PT was going to spoil me for that. Does anyone know if this is the same as the Joye stick at Wordupecig? I would rather keep my business with him if I can, rather than going somewhere new.
  23. I agree completely. I remember loving the smell of coffee brewing and then for the last I don't know how many years, I couldn't smell it any more. I never knew it was because of smoking until I quit and can now smell coffee brewing. Ahhh, heaven! But yeah, the stinky smells are bad. It wasn't too long after I quit smoking, I walked out of Wal-Mart and noticed that someone had been smoking outside. No one was smoking out there, but had been. And I could smell it. It was awful. I just started laughing. I, who had smoked for 34 years, could smell that someone else had been smoking outside and it was horrible. Wow!! And yeah, I've also felt guilty thinking that I smelled like that for years and years. Sure glad I don't now.
  24. Thanks Mark. I don't usually go through even 2 ml in a day, but now I'm doing at least 3 ml. I wondered if it was the VP/PT burning it up or if I started vaping way too much. I have to keep working on making my own, or this could get very expensive.
