  1. Yikes!!! I am in deep, aren't I?
  2. I was a pack and a half per day smoker for 34 years when someone showed me an ecig. I was amazed. Somehow I just knew it would work for me. I bought an expensive "cheap" kit and was surprised that the cartridges they said equaled two packs of analogs only lasted part of a day for me. But I loved it. My hand to mouth habit was satisfied, the vapor felt like the smoke in mouth (only so much cleaner), and the sight of the vapor on the exhale satisfied my "visual" need. Vaping was every bit as relaxing as smoking had been. My only problem was that my kit only came with one battery. During the two hours it took for the battery to charge, I smoked even though I didn't want to. After all those years of loving to smoke, I didn't want to smoke any more. I only wanted to vape. It tasted better, I felt better, my sense of smell was better, my sense of taste was better. When the store I got the kit from ran out of cartridges (massive panic), I started researching online to see what I could find. Learning that there were lots of different models and that I could refill my own cartridges was a lifesaver for me. I saw some of Chris' videos and started buying units and juice, etc. The day I got my first kit (an 801 model) that came with two batteries was the last day I ever had an analog. That was almost two years ago. I quickly learned that I really needed backups. Not only a backup battery, but several batteries, lots of juice, a backup charger, several backup attys. I knew that I didn't want to ever be in the position of not having even one element that would cause me to have to buy a pack of smokes. I went over the top a bit by buying several different models to see which worked best for me, but overall I didn't spend any more than I had smoking. After almost two years of vaping, I always have a lot of backup supplies and know that I will never again buy a pack of analogs. I don't even like the smell of someone else smoking anymore. I still love vaping and vape a lot more than I smoked, but I am spending a lot less money than I was before and I feel so much better.
  3. The Provape is another option. (provape.com) It's not VV like the Provari, but has a bigger (longer lasting) battery than the Spade. It's been a long time since I had the Spade, but going from memory, the Provape isn't a lot bigger than then Spade. A bit heavier though. The Silver Bullet is much bigger, but the battery can last a couple of days for some people. I own one and just love it. I also agree with the eGo. It's probably a bit smaller than the Spade, but the battery life is much better. The box mod bottom feeder juice units are nice, too. I own both the smaller "Old Goat's" bottom feeder (oldgoatsmod.com) and the much bigger Ali'i (rnrmanufacturing.com) and love them for their convenience when driving.
  4. Congratulations!! The eGo is a fantastic ecig. Glad it's working for you.
  5. After almost two years of vaing, I still count on Vapor Talk to keep up with all the new stuff and for answers to questions I have now and then. I'm glad vaping is working for you.
  6. Welcome to Vapor Talk! There is a very good chance this will be your last attempt to quit...as it was for a lot of us. Best of luck to you and let us know what you think when you get your kit.
  7. The 510 is a great little unit. It's what we all used to recommend to all the newcomers...until they came out with the eGo. The battery lasts so much longer and makes the whole experience that much better. And since they've come out with the LR attys...WOW! You can't use the LR with the regular 510 batteries, but they are great on the eGo.
  8. Ummm, yes I have. I may have even worn out a keyboard with all those posts. No one has told me to shut up yet, so I keep on typing...and vaping!! Congrats on the purchase of your house. That had to be exciting!
  9. My 18650 batteries take about 10 hours to fully charge. And one is never enough. Backups, backups, backups!
  10. I'm a bit slow to the conversation, but welcome back Tek. There aren't many of the "old timers" left here, but a few of us are hanging in there. Glad to hear you're still vaping happily away.

    Hi

    Welcome to Vapor Talk!
  12. A year ago? That makes this welcome a year late, but...welcome to vapor talk.
  13. This is too funny!! Try it. Really, try it. 1 - Open Google Maps (directions). 2 - Type China as your starting point. 3 - Type Taiwan as your destination. 4 - Read step #48. 5 - When you stop laughing, pass this on so others can laugh too!
  14. Happy Birthday, Jeff!! Hope you have a great day!!!
  15. Wow!! It's a Star Trek replicator!!!! It really doesn't seem possible, but then I'm sure a lot of things didn't seem possible years ago...cell phones, iPad's, etc.
  16. I only got headaches when I was using too much nicotine. But...it can also be from withdrawal from all the chemicals that you were getting from the analogs, too. Adjusting your nicotine level is easy enough, so try a bit more and/or a bit less until you find what works best for you. But give it a few days so you can be sure it's not just from withdrawal.
  17. Welcome to Vapor Talk! I think you'll notice a big improvement with the Joye 510.
  18. Another example of "one bad apple"...makes it really hard on all of us "good apples".

    Hi All...

Hi. And welcome to Vapor Talk. So sorry for your loss. That stinks.
  20. Hi Laura and welcome to Vapor Talk! Congratulations on choosing the eGo. It's the best way to start in my opinion. I think what you're going through is more of a withdrawal from all the chemicals in cigarettes. It's happened to a lot of us. Very few people are allergic to PG, so that probably isn't the problem. Give it a couple of weeks and see what happens. You'll start to notice a lot of positive changes very soon - easier breathing, being able to taste food better, being able to smell more things, more energy, etc. Just give it some time. You can always switch to just VG later if you really need to, but don't be in a hurry. Good luck and happy vaping!!!
  21. Like not having to wash out dirty ashtrays? Or not worrying about smelling like a dirty ashtray when I'm around non-smokers? Or not having burn holes on the furniture or on my clothes?
