Congratulations!!! I can still remember my first 24 hours smoke free. So exciting!! I counted the days after that and just kept counting and counting. Pretty soon it was months and here pretty soon it will years...with an "s". I'm so happy for you!

Welcome to Vapor Talk, Tim!!! Lots of very knowledgeable people hang out here, so you shouldn't have any trouble learning everything you need to know.

That was a great review!! Made me smile. Very clever. I haven't even noticed this mod at madvapes.

I don't know anyone who could leave it for days. Oh wait, that might just be me. LOL

You mentioned that your battery barely lasts three hours, so I don't think you would be happy with the standard 510 or the 801. The batteries on those won't last two hours. I can't give any comments on the epipe since I've never use one, but I can recommend the eGo. Much longer battery life, still uses the 510 atty and has just about all the options you'd want so that you can try everything out and see what works for you.

I agree with the eGo. It's the way to start. While you sit back and enjoy that, you can do a lot of research and see what other models you'd like to have. And you will (most likely) want more someday. Good luck and happy vaping!

Good to hear from you again, Darth! I tried the cartomizers and, like you, didn't like the regular ones, but the LR cartos are much better. My problem with them is they don't last very long for me. Maybe a day to a day and a half. The boge 510 LR cartos are very easy to fill though, I have to give them that. I always come back to my LR attys. The regular attys last me about four weeks, but just don't "do it" for me. The LR only last about two weeks for me, but I love them. I now buy the LR attys in bulk (at less than $5. each for 10) so the cost is much lower and that makes up for the shorter life span. I've also been using the eGo since they came out and still love it (and yes I remember the days of the penstyle, too LOL). I did move on to bigger battery mods and settled with the Silver Bullet - which uses the 18650 battery. It is rather large and could draw attention, but when I am somewhere I don't want attention, I use my eGo instead. The battery lasts a day and a half for me and I really enjoy that. However, after a year of almost constant use, the button on my Silver Bullet quit working so I'm not using it right now. I'm going to try to get it fixed though, because I do love it. I also have some box mod bottom feeders (some that use 14500 batteries and one that uses the 18650) that I adore. So nice to not have to drip all the time. Since I have the bottom feeders and they work so well for me, I haven't tried the tank type atomizers. I also have the Provape, which uses the 14500 battery, and it works well, too. It's as good as the Silver Bullet, but much smaller - and of course the battery life isn't as long. For me, I get what I need from the LR attys and that's what I use on everything. If I could get the LR cartos to last longer, I would probably use them more, but I've never been able to make them last long enough to satisfy me.

Welcome to Vapor Talk! I don't clean attys either. I love me eGo, but I don't have the eGo-T so can't give you any advice with that, but you'll get advice from the ones who do. Glad you're enjoying the vaping. Stay safe!

Wow!!

Now that made me smile. Thanks.

Mark's wood and 18650 together? Oh yeah!! VV? I've never been convinced on that one yet, but if Mark made it, I would want it. And I would be more than willing to send lots of beer if that would help. But I still haven't made the plunge into signing up for twitter or anything so I can get into chat.

Welcome to Vapor Talk, Susan! I was one of the those long time smokers...smoked a pack and a half a day for 34 years. Found ecigs almost two years ago and never looked back. I didn't give much thought to how I did it or when I would quit. From the very first drag on an ecig, I knew it was for me. My first "kit" was a not so good choice, but it was new to me. It only came with one battery and while that battery charged, I smoked. I didn't like that idea, so did some research online and found this place. Within two weeks of starting to vape, I had my new kit with two batteries and never had another smoke (analog) again. Although it hasn't been that easy for everyone, I'm really glad it was for me. Don't try too hard and don't give yourself a hard time if you smoke for awhile after you start vaping. It happens. And any cigarette not smoked is a step in the right direction. But don't be surprised if you like vaping so well that you never even want another smoke again. That happens, too. Good luck and happy vaping!!

I still watch the days go up on my counter and can't always believe it. Here's to turning those weeks into months...
-
I was 48 and after 34 years of smoking a pack and a half a day, never imagined I could quit as easily as I did. It's been almost two years for me, too.
-
I checked coffee flavor because I do use it quite often, but cinnamon (atomic cinnacide) is still my all day vape.
-
Nice! Very nice!!!

I'm late, but thought I'd go ahead and add my welcome to the mix...Welcome to Vapor Talk!!

I second that...

Don't worry about the long post. We enjoy reading other people's stories and love to help out when we can. My husband was never a smoker, so that wasn't an issue with me. Luckily I was ready to quit, so being around smokers didn't bother me. Now I don't like the way smokers smell - which is a surprise since I smoked for 34 years. The coughing could very well be due to your cold. Also, you might find that you cough less if you fill your mouth with vapor before you inhale. When you inhale directly into your lungs, it can cause you to cough. Just an idea. As far as your husband smoking, don't push him to vape. Just keep vaping and letting him know how much you enjoy it. Chances are he'll want to try again one of these days. You might just offer to let him taste some of the flavors you like best. That might get him to be more interested. I know other people here have had this problem and they can give you hints on getting him to make the switch. Good luck and happy vaping!!

Nana? Who's nana? You might want to consider pairing BirdDog up with someone else interesting instead.

That has a VERY nice ring to it. I'd love to see that one!

A long time ago, kitsune told us her secret...adding a couple of drops of menthol helps with throat hit - without making the juice taste like menthol.

Yes, please keep it up!! It's an inspiration to any new people coming in and it reminds the rest of us how wonderful those first days of being smoke free were. I'm still amazed I've come as far as I have, so the wonder never goes away, but it's still a neat reminder. I'm so happy for you!!

I agree with getting the eGo first. I have a few different mods, but still love using my eGo, too. It's less expensive and yet you can try out all the different attys, cartos, tanks, etc., until you find what works best for you. Then go into the more expensive mods. There is always something new and different to try so you won't run of "toys" to get, but the best place to start is the eGo.
