I Am New And Have A Question From The Seasoned Users
nana replied to Dartkitten's topic in New Vapers Forum
Yes, that's the main reason for the eGo battery. Super battery life! The atty is the same standard 510, unless you get the LR attys...which are wonderful in my opinion. I started out with the 801, 901, and then the 510. The only way you could use the eGo batteries with any of those attys is with an adaptor. You'd need one adapter for each of those attys. The adaptors won't harm the batteries. I've used several different adapters on several different batteries with no problems at all. I wondered the same thing about the eGo before I finally broke down and bought one (just over a year ago now). My answer would be YES! It is worth it. I went from charging a battery every half hour to not having to charge a battery for over 6 hours. It made a big difference for me. I still use my eGo and love it. -

Welcome to Vapor Talk. The eGo battery does last all day for some people, but not for all. It depends on how much you vape. I get 6 to 8 hours out of a new battery, but that sure is a lot better than the one half to one hour I got from a regular batter. -
A lot of people like The Perfumer's Apprentice, but I couldn't taste their flavors at all. I used Marshmallow for sweetening...until I tried the cotton candy. I liked the cotton candy a whole lot better.

No DDD for me. That's why I got a juice box...bottom feeder. Used it for the first time driving today. Perfect!!! Just what I needed.

Madvapes has a whole bunch of instructions on their site - under "how to" on their home page. Here's one to look at... http://www.madvapemods.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=10

Congratulations Julie!!! I know how special today is for you as it hasn't been that long since I celebrated my one year anniversary. Something I never thought I'd celebrate either. Also, thank you for all you do for the people on this forum. You haven't been here all that long and yet you jumped right in and offered all the help you could. That's truly wonderful!

1. how long have you been vaping I have been vaping since October 1st, 2009 - almost 17 months now!! 2. do you smoke anologs at all anymore Nope. Had my last analog on October 12th, 2009 - as soon as I got an extra battery for my e-cig. 3. how many years did you actually smoke analogs and about how much a day I smoked analogs for at least 34 years and smoked at least 1 1/2 packs a day. 4. do you have any health concerns to vaping.. chest congestion, any coughing, sinus infection etc.. please be as honest as possible. I don't have any health concerns at the moment. Or none that I'm aware of anyway. (Other than a twisted ankle that's swollen, but I don't think that's what you're wanting to know about. ) 5. Did you have any recurring health issues that went away because you started vaping. Right before I started vaping I had to go to the dr. because of an infection on my hand. My blood pressure was through the roof. I'd never had a problem with it before, so was quite surprised. I've been on bp medicine since then, but in the last few months was getting light headed or dizzy a lot, checked my bp and it was super low, so I cut my bp pills in half and that problem went away. Now my bp is starting to run pretty low again. I have a feeling I don't need the medicine any more, but still need to make an appointment with the dr. to see if I can quit the medicine all together. I'll do that one of these days. Probably. I don't know if this is because of vaping or not. I can breathe a whole lot better than I used to. I can climb stairs without feeling like I'm going to collapse. I can smell things much better - some good, some bad. I can taste food better than before. I find I like some things better and don't like some things I thought I did before. I think all of this is because of vaping.

You can come up with some interesting flavors, Nanna. There are flavors I like to eat, but didn't like to vape them very much. I love cherry anything, but not to vape. Strange. I have found though that if I add some cotton candy flavoring to those I don't care for as much, it smooths them out and makes them "vape-able" to me. And yes, when you can't taste any liquids, all you really want is to finally be able to at least taste some. It sounds like a lot of peoples "tastes" change over time and stuff they liked to begin with, they no longer like a few weeks or months later - and vice versa. So keep that in mind. If you get some Lorann's and like it now, that may all change later. Or if you don't like it now, you might later. Just keep trying and you'll come up with something, I'm sure.

Awesome!!!! Vapor Talk army...I like that. LOL

Congratulations!!

Those are your backups. You need backups.

Hang in there, Nanna!! As I said before, for months the only flavor I could taste was the Tasty Vapors Atomic Cinnacide. After that, it was only the HINT of flavor as you describe. Well, it's still that way for most of them for me, but I can taste my DIY flavors. I just need more flavor than most. It's odd because I can taste food just fine. It's only the e-liquid that I have a problem with. Honestly, I've seen where a lot of people new to vaping say the same thing you're saying now, but their taste buds come back to life. I've been the only one I know of who still has a problem after so long. You're still new to this. Give it some time. Be glad you found at least one flavor you can taste so early. It took me at least 3 months before I found it. I'm anxious to find out about those double strength flavors you ordered. Be sure and let us know how they work for you. But, even if you can't taste them, hold on to them. You may be able to taste them in a few weeks or months.

Looks pretty cool! Let me know how it works once you get one, okay Brian?

Nanna's rule!! Can't wait to hear more about this, Nanna.

You're welcome! Glad I didn't scare you off. LOL I know what you mean - I never smoked for the taste. I tended to smoke the cheapest cigarettes I could find. I can't tell you that I could really taste them at all. Maybe I did, but I sure don't remember. Once I started vaping and hearing everyone else talk about this taste or that taste, I just wanted to be able to taste them, too. It didn't bother me very much when I couldn't because vaping still "felt" like smoking and "looked" like smoking, so the taste wasn't a big deal. I suppose that's why I'm content with the few flavors I like and can taste. And even at that, I still have to try once in awhile. I've been tempted to try Vaper Renu and get the double shot flavors just to see if I can taste them. It never hurts to try and like I said, I can mix them with something else to get the flavor, so they aren't wasted. Good luck and keep vaping!!!

Very funny, Brian, very funny. LOL @ Uma!! Okay, so I looked at the eclipse. But I'm still drooling over the Ali'i. What was the topic of this thread? Oh yeah! The cost of vaping vs analogs. I think a person could buy a new device just about every month - along with needed supplies of attys, batteries, and juice - and still come out ahead in the long run. And that's only if there are that many devices a person would want to try. I had to try a lot of them out to begin with, but then that wore off. I always wanted a juice feeder, so that's why I ordered those now, but I really don't see me getting anything else for a long time. If the juice feeders turned out to not work for me, I'd go back to my BSB and eGo (and Mark Mod) and be perfectly happy. I've got my backups, I love vaping, I'm healthier, I'm breathing better, I'm happier, I've met a lot of great people, and I'm way ahead money-wise. What more could a person ask for?

Well, Brian, I doubt Nanna wants to hear from me on this subject. But...here goes... I couldn't taste any of the juices for the first 3 months. None. At all. Then I found Tasty Vapor and got the Atomic Fireball (which has apparently changed it's name to Atomic Cinnacide since then). I could taste that one!! And man did I love it!! I'd been on the forum, hearing all about all these wonderful tastes and I couldn't taste any of them, so it was great to finally taste something. It was so good that I ordered again and got enough to last me for 6 months. Later, I tried a few other flavors from Tasty Vapor and although I could taste them, they weren't as "flavorful" to me. I tried one that was a lemonade something or other that just seemed to have a chemical taste to me. I tried orange and cherry. Both were just okay to me. Although I was nervous about it, I did try the black licorice and I loved that one. I can't vape it much, but every once in awhile I do and it's always good. I have wondered if it's not just because both of those are such strong flavors. I kept buying juices, trying from everywhere I could find, but I still couldn't taste any of them. Really. It wasn't that they were bad, I just couldn't taste anything. I was told that my taste buds would come back to life (that they were in bad shape because I had smoked for 34 years), but that really never happened for me. From what I've been able to tell, it does happen for everyone else, but not for me - for the most part. I have been able to barely taste a few, but it's so very light that it's pretty much nothing and after using them for a few days, I can't taste them at all. After I'd been vaping 5 or 6 months, a friend mixed up some homemade juice and sent it to me. One of those was the Mr. Bean (flavoring) from Liquidxpress. I could taste them!! And they were good!! That got me into doing some of my own mixing. I bought some Lorann's flavorings (which is what they mostly use in the Tasty Vapor juices) and could finally taste it all. I don't care for some of the flavors, but at least I can taste them. I added the flavorings to all those other juices I'd ordered to "up" the flavor of them and was at least able to use up all the liquid I'd bought and couldn't taste - so it didn't go to waste. There are several people on this forum who can't stand the Lorann's flavors, but I've tried all the other flavorings, too, and I still can't taste them. We aren't supposed to discuss mixing except in the DIY forum, so I won't say any more about that here. I've been vaping for 17 months now and I'm still at about the same place with tastes as I was when I started. I ordered a couple more juices just last week and although I do get a hint of some flavor, it's not enough to say what that flavor is. There just isn't much there. I've realized that I will probably never be able to taste the pre-made juices and I'm okay with that. I still love vaping and I'm happy with the flavors I can taste, so I just stick with them. I've got two flavors I use all the time (Atomic Cinnacide being my main vape - along with a coffe) and one I use every now and then. It's good enough for me. I don't know of anyone else who has gone so long without really being able to taste liquids. A couple of people here do need stronger flavors though. I'm probably the only one who has had such a hard time tasting - after so long anyway. Your taste buds will probably perk up one of these days, like everyone else, so don't let my story scare you. As I said, I seem to be the only one with this problem.

UMA!!!!! Did you not see that I said I didn't want to know what the eClipse was? I wrote that for a very good reason - cause I don't want to know. I don't. I really don't. Excuse me, I have something to go look at....see ya later....

That's really great!! What a fantastic idea - matching it to your guitar!! Beautiful guitar, beautiful Ali'i. Nice pics. Thanks for posting them.

Yeah!! It's sounding great!!

I don't have mine yet, but ordered the ebony spine with bubinga covers and stainless catch cup. I didn't go with the VV because I'm still not convinced I want to go that route. Maybe someday, but for now I'm good with the 3.7/6v. Obsession? Really? I only had my order ready to go for two weeks...refreshing the page a couple of times a day, watching the thread (on that other forum) a couple of times a day, talking myself into or out of it several times a day (even until the last few moments before ordering because the price jumped $15. in those last few moments)...is that obsession? Hmmm....
-
Thank you, Uma! I don't know what the eClipse is...and I don't want to know...so go with the Ali'i. You need one. You really do. Seriously. It's important for you to have one. I mean it. Go back and look at the pictures. And now you can get it in purpleheart. Remember? How perfect would that be for you? Really. I'm serious.
-
It's also a good idea to be ready ahead of time. Register on his site so that is done. Then fill out your order with whichever wood you are wanting for the spine and covers, VV or 3.7/6v, and brass or stainless catch cup. Have that page ready to go before the ordering actually opens. Then when it opens, all you have to do it hit order and go through the whole checkout thing. You can get an order in very quickly that way. I got mine done in about two minutes - the very first time I tried.

I refuse to count how many attys I've been through. It might be depressing. I've had some that only lasted one day. That upset me, but for the most part most of them have lasted me about about month. I've been using the LR attys for several months now and they only last me about two weeks, but are so much better (IMO) that I'm okay with that. Still a lot cheaper than a pack of smokes was.

Did you read the thread on the other forum, ripple? That's usually where they tell when the ordering will open. It's usually every other Friday. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/r-r-manufacturing/107724-r-r-manufacturing-custom-ordering-now-open.html
