  1. egoluvr...where are you? Only two more steps and you're in...grab out hands...we'll pull you in...just close your eyes and jump...come on...you can do it....
  2. I agree, Beans. I hear so many people, when upon hearing of someones illness, say something like, "But you know he/she is a smoker." Like that's the only reason a person would ever get sick. Now they'll probably change "smoker" to "vaper".
  3. Oh, come on Beans, just one more. You can do it! Don't be too scared. It won't hurt....much.
  4. It's a really great idea to have lots of backups. I've always recommend having 3 batteries (per person) on hand. The reason for that is if one of your batteries dies, you will still have one to vape while the other is charging. I learned this lesson from starting with a kit that only came with one battery. If you can afford even more batteries, there's nothing wrong with having a few more. I would also recommend having several attys on hand. As a rule they last about a month. The problem is there is no way to tell how long they will last. You might have one that will only last a week and one that will only last a couple of days. If you only have two attys and one dies, then your other one only lasts a couple of days, you may not make it through until a new order comes in. You can order a bulk pack of 10 attys from Vapor Kings - it's a great deal and a really good idea. I would say it would be a good idea to have at least that many on hand - especially where two of you will be using them. Vapor Talk also has bulk attys in the regular 510. I also recommend having a backup charger and more juice than you think you'll go through in a month. You don't have to buy all of your backups at once, but if you can, do it. Then you'll feel fairly safe until you can order some more. And be sure to put in a new order as soon as you can - even if you are not low on supplies. That way, if something comes up and you can't get supplies when you need them, you'll still have plenty on hand from when you could. I personally don't think a person can ever have enough backups. This isn't something that most people can run down to the corner and pick up.
  5. You can also buy unflavored nicotine liquid to keep you nic level where you want it. And you don't have to use a 50/50 blend either. DIY is all about finding what works best for you. It will take some trial and error, but if you mix in very small quantities, you won't waste much if you don't like it. Keep in mind that you can use what you don't like by mixing that with something else, too. It can be a lot of fun experimenting with all you can do.
  6. My opinion: I think it's all scare tactics. The article didn't say what kind of oil the dr. was talking about. I mean.."There's extensive literature in the medical world on damage to the lungs due to inhaling oil"..REALLY? And who was it that was inhaling all that oil and just how were they inhaling it? That would make a big difference. And..."seemed to involve a mixture of nicotine and some oil"...well, did it or not? Or did it just "seem" to? Might make a big difference. I have a feeling it involved more than a mixture of nicotine and some oil. Even the Lorann's oil based flavors come in a PG base. It's not straight oil. Then, if you used the "oil" flavoring, you would only use a tiny bit in a bunch of PG, or VG, or a combination of both. Flavoring is the smallest, tiniest, part of the liquid we use. I don't see that it could cause a big problem. No more so than breathing in all the PG and VG that we're breathing in. We don't know for sure that it's safe. I still feel like that is a lot safer than all the burning crap I'd been breathing into my lungs for 34 years. I'm not saying the oil based flavorings are safe, I'm saying we don't know. After all, we don't know that the non-oil based flavorings are "safe" either. They were not invented for inhaling as a vapor. But I know people are using the flavorings for vaping and are feeling better than they have for years. And that includes some liquids made with an oil based flavoring. Because a man got sick and died...and he used an e-cig...they are going to try and blow that out of proportion - like they do most things. The ones who want it banned are going to use anything and everything they can use to get it banned - fair or not.
  7. I've been doing this for a few years. It works out to be about $1.50 per 5 gallon bucket. And for anyone who is interested, a bar of Ivory soap works just as well - in place of the Fels Naptha, I mean...which will also bring the price per bucket down a bit.
  8. Glad you like it. Or should I say, glad you love it?
  9. Congratulations!!! And welcome to the wonderful world of vaping!!!
  10. The main difference between the 510 and the eGo is the battery and the cone. The regular 510 doesn't have a cone. But yes, they both use the 510 atty. You can get the passthrough and use your regular attys on it, but I don't know that you could use the LR attys on the passthrough. If it's 5v, then you can't. If it's not 5v, then you can. I'm not sure what the voltage is, but someone will come in and give you that information. And you shouldn't use the LR attys on the regular battery...it's not made to support that. It could ruin the battery. But if you get the eGo battery (not the PT), then you can use the LR atty on that. Yes, you can add one flavor on top of the other flavor. You can clean if you want, but you don't have to. Some flavors mix well, others don't. But, if they don't mix, it really doesn't take long before the first flavor is gone. I've always done it that way and have never had a problem, but some people don't like to do it. You'll just have to try it to see what you think. I am "flavor challenged" (as kitsune would say) so I really can't recommend any good flavors for you. I do like the atomic cinnacide from tastyvapor.us, but some find it too strong. I think the thing with flavors is to try as many of them as you can and decide which you like best. You picked a couple of good places to get the liquid from, so now all you need to do is taste them and see what you think. You're on the right track anyway. Oops...almost forgot...Welcome to Vapor Talk!!
  11. I don't believe I've ever had any side effects at all - except for the fact that I quit smoking after 34 years...and the above mentioned "getting more healthy". No negatives.
  12. Nice! I don't have any trouble DDing any more and I don't have any blue foam left or I might give it a try. But that's some very clever troubleshooting there. Great job!!
  13. When you write a post, there is an edit button that shows up on the post right after you post (not as you are writing). You only have about an hour (I used to think it was 30 minutes, but someone said it was an hour) to edit and then that option goes away.
  14. I get my VG here... http://www.allstarhealth.com/f/now-vegetable_glycerine.htm
  15. Welcome to Vapor Talk. We all have different tastes. I believe you get something different from each vendor - some good, some not so good. It all depends on your tastes. I don't think the price really has much to do with it. Try a few different flavors from each vendor and decided what you like. It would be nice if you found a cheaper one that you love, but don't let it bother you if it doesn't work out that way. The main thing is to find something you like - that's what will keep you vaping. There have been a lot of good things said about Vapor Renu. They have pretty good prices, too. You might want to check them out. Good luck!!
  16. Tasty Vapor Atomic Cinnacide. When I first started, I couldn't taste any juices. This was the first one I could taste and I just loved it!! I've been using it for over a year now and although I can taste some now (although not many and they are very, very light on taste to me) I still use Atomic Cinnacide as my all day vape. I throw coffee in there throughout the day, but not a lot of it.
  17. It looks like you all had another great time.
  18. Welcome to Vapor Talk! There is a slight learning curve to this process. Take it slow and easy and you'll have it figured out in no time - especially with all the helpful advice you'll receive. Keep the questions coming. Good luck!
  19. So glad the flavor is improving for you! I know what it is to be flavor challenged. Once you get your Tank supplies built up, if you need someone to talk you into getting a juice box, just let me know and I'll do my very best to help you out with that.
  20. I have the "old goat" bottom feeder juice boxes and I use LR 510 attys on mine. I also have an Ali'i and I use the LR 510 attys on that, too. The reason I never got a "wet box" was because they said you could only use cartos on it and I didn't like cartos. I only have to squeeze the bottle for a couple of seconds - if that - to wet the atty. It's just like dripping, really. I have yet to break a bottle, but I don't worry about it because I have lots of "backup" bottles. LOL I use my juice boxes all the time. I just love them!! I'm sorry your wet box isn't working out for you Tags. Could you try using an atty on it instead of the carto? It doesn't look to be much different than my OG juice box.
  21. It's worth it to try everything that's out there. I'm okay with the cartomizers (LR cartomizers), but I prefer LR attys. Others will say the opposite. You just have to try things to know what works best for you. It's part of the fun.
  22. OMG!! I didn't know anyone had the exact same daily routine as I did!! Amazing!! LOL Okay, except the daughter coming home from school part.
  23. LOL @ kitsune!!! I had that line about this being our support group, but took it off. Yes, it is. No doubt about it. All thanks go to Chris!!
  24. The best thing to do is to experiment with different things - including flavors. It's the only way to know what works for you. The good thing is, if you find a flavor or a PG/VG blend that doesn't work for you, you can mix that juice in with another so you don't waste what you didn't like as much. OR...a lot of people have said they didn't like something in the beginning, but after a month they tried it again and then they did like it. Just don't toss something you think you don't like at the moment. Just try a lot of different things and see where it leads you. You'll have fun trying everything if nothing else. Good luck!!
